Below are Gaburick’s tweets making the announcements.

Matt Hardy Signs New TNA Contract

Matt hardy is now under contract with TNA full-time. Earlier this week, Hardy released a Youtube video talking about his plans to scale back on indy shows while he increases his role with TNA. Hardy, who is 40 years old, explained that he was working full time on the indy scene in addition to working for TNA and it caught up with him.

“I noticed three, four months ago that I was starting to wear down; I was starting to be physically, mentally, and emotionally tired. I was drained. I was over-working myself. And I know that was something I promised myself when I got back in this game that I wasn’t going to do.”

TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 on Tour show features exclusive backstage footage and interviews

Airs: Wednesday March 25 at 10pm

Challenge today announces an exclusive new special – TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 on Tour – packed full of behind-the-scenes footage of all six finalists from the hit reality TV series.

The hour-long show follows the action as TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 winner Mark Andrews, plus finalists Grado, Kay Lee Ray, Noam Dar, Dave Mastiff and Rampage Brown, join TNA’s roster of international Superstars in some of Britain’s biggest arenas on the MAXIMUM IMPACT 7 Tour.

Filmed in late January in Glasgow, Manchester and London – the programme will give fans a truly exclusive look at the goings-on backstage on a TNA UK Tour. For the first time ever, TNA cameras capture exactly what happens when young British wrestlers mix it up with some of the world’s top talent – meaning a show chocked full of brand new interviews and footage, including TNA Superstars giving their frank opinions on the Boot Camp six.

TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 on Tour will be broadcast at 10pm on Wednesday March 25 on Challenge, and repeated at midnight on Sunday March 29. The show follows six weeks of TNA programming on Challenge, all recorded in the UK, as part of the channel’s annual #TNAINTHEUK season.

This special will answer many of the questions on fans’ lips ever since the critically-acclaimed series TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 ended in December. How will the UK crowds take to winner Mark Andrews, as he makes his first appearances in his home country as part of the full TNA roster? Can Scottish sensation Grado get revenge over the judge who dumped him from the show, Al Snow, when they fight in front of his family, friends and countrymen? And can any of the finalists impress enough to join Mandrews as a full-time TNA star?

The show features insight from top TNA personalities including Magnus, Rockstar Spud, Ethan Carter III, Robbie E, Josh Matthews, Christy Hemme and Brooke, plus the return of a couple of favourite faces from the Boot Camp series… so it’s one not to be missed by any wrestling fan.

Stephen Ladlow, Director of Challenge, said: “The search for a new star of IMPACT WRESTLING in TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 really captivated Challenge viewers, so we are delighted to be able to broadcast this special show about the contestants and how they fared on the MAXIMUM IMPACT Tour.

“You really see their passion and commitment to wrestling shine through, as they interact with the stars of the famous TNA roster and delight fans across the country.”

TNA President Dixie Carter added: “TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 on Tour is a fascinating documentary that shows the passion of our roster, including the talented finalists of British Boot Camp 2, as they travel to three arenas in three consecutive days to film six television shows. It will bring a newfound respect for the grit and determination of these remarkable athletes and entertainers.

“Our company is proud of the success of the British Boot Camp franchise and the Superstars we have found in Rockstar Spud and Mark Andrews. And, we are thrilled to partner once more with Challenge in bringing this exclusive, never-before-seen look at professional wrestling on tour.”

The original TNA Wrestling: British Boot Camp 2 series was commissioned for Challenge by Chris Brogden, Commissioning Editor, Entertainment, Sky. It aimed to compliment the burgeoning success of the TNA IMPACT WRESTLING series, which is one of the top performing series on the channel.

Challenge is available on Freeview channel 46, Sky channels 125 and 164 and Virgin Media channel 139.

Gail Kim Talks Current State Of Women’s Wrestling, “#GiveDivasAChance” Movement

TNA Knockout Gail Kim spoke about the state of women’s wrestling and the “#GiveDivasAChance” movement in her latest column, which is featured in the March issue of Total Wrestling magazine. Below are some highlights.

On the current state of women’s wrestling: “NXT has proven that with opportunity and time, the women can put on a show, with great athletes and characters emerging from there. Total Divas, reality show has given the women a platform to be seen but not necessarily as the strong empowered women they really are. With WWE Raw on for three hours, I feel as though they could be given a much more prominent and positive role.”

On the “#GiveDivasAChance” movement: “Why not follow the successful formula that NXT has? It was at such a low point recently that the fans spoke out with #GiveDivasAChance trending and the fans voices were heard loud and clear. I hope this path continues for all of us women. With TNA president Dixie Carter and Stephanie McMahon in prominent positions of the top two wrestling promotions in America at the moment, the future can be very bright for women in pro wrestling. Perhaps equality some day?”

Josh Mathews Says Vince McMahon “Doesn’t Get It Anymore”

Former WWE announcer Josh Mathews recently appeared as a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast, where he discussed his problems with WWE and breaking old habits now that he’s working in TNA. Mathews noted that he specifically has a hard time saying the words “belt” and “wrestling,” because they weren’t allowed to be used in WWE.

When asked about Vince McMahon claiming the profession is “Sports Entertainment” during his appearance on the Steve Austin podcast on the WWE Network, Mathews said, “I just look at it as someone who doesn’t get it anymore, and who has lost so much touch with what his product is.”

Mathews continued, “[He] didn’t like anything else that was going on so he literally created his own universe. I mean, that’s what they called it the ‘Universe,’ because he created it and he lives in that bubble.”

Drew Galloway Talks Competing Against WWE, Working For TNA & More

Gary Mehaffy recently spoke to former WWE Superstar Drew McIntyre, who is now known as Drew Galloway, about his current run in TNA, his time in WWE and more. Below are highlights from the interview.

On signing with TNA and what they want him to do: “It was the very last second I spoke to them. I just happened to be in Scotland for ICW so I was there anyway. I was apprehensive at first…..I’m having fun and doing my thing (on the indy scene) and that’s what I said when I was speaking to (TNA) management. They 100% agreed with me. They said ‘We want you to be yourself. We want to give you an opportunity and give you a platform to be Drew.'”

On wrestling in the Impact Zone: “I’ve been getting a very positive response as a babyface, especially when I speak and I tell them how I feel. I talk about pro wrestling and how I feel about pro wrestling and they (the fans) feel the same, because at heart, I’m a wrestling fan. You won’t get a bigger mark than Drew Galloway! I’m a huge wrestling fan!”

On competing with WWE: “If you try and compete with WWE you’re going to lose. The smartest thing to do is to create something different…..then everybody wins, especially wrestling fans…..Everybody wins! Wrestling’s popularity grows and independent shows grow as well. The bigger WWE, TNA and Lucha Underground get – or the shows with national exposure – the bigger they all get the more fans go to independent shows as well….That’s what everyone wants: to see wrestling grow and to see wrestling succeed.”

On who he is looking forward to wrestling: “(Austin) Aries. I know when Low Ki and I get our hands on each other it’s going to be stiff but it’s going to be very entertaining! We had a really good match on SmackDown – and I think it was on the “Best of SmackDown” that year! I’m really looking forward to wrestling him again. Top of the list is the wrestling machine, Kurt Angle…. You’ve got Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode – there are so many – but definitely Kurt Angle is number 1 on the list.”

On what we can expect from him in TNA: “I can’t say exactly how long I’ve signed for, but I can say I won’t be disappearing any time soon! I’m hoping to continue what we’ve been doing….I’m Drew Galloway 100% of the time….I want to give the fans a platform to let their voice be heard.”

The Rock’s Production Company Partnering With Spike TV

Spike TV held their latest ‘upfront’ presentation on Tuesday in New York City and announced a partnership with $7 Bucks Productions, owned by The Rock and his ex-wife Dani Garcia.

The Rock’s production company will produce programming from live events, specials, sports and initiatives surrounding troops and veterans.

Spike TV also unveiled their new logo and tagline “Spike: The Ones To Watch.” The network is shifting away from targeting young males and is looking to expand their reach by appealing to a much broader demographic. It’s believed that Spike’s new direction is one of the main reasons they decided to part ways with TNA Wrestling.

Here’s a photo of The Rock from yesterday’s event:

Veteran TNA Executive Announces His Departure From The Company

Veteran TNA producer Bryan Edwards has parted ways with the company. The longtime TNA executive announced his departure on social media.

Edwards appears to be well-liked by those in the promotion, as several TNA stars sent him positive messages on Twitter soon after he announced his departure.

Edwards posted the following series of tweets as an official statement:

Mr. Anderson On Samoa Joe Leaving TNA, WWE Shutting Down His Ideas & More

TNA star Mr. Anderson recently appeared on “Ring Rust Radio” to promote his in-ring return at Impact Wrestling, the TNA tour of the U.K. and more. Below are highlights from the interview.

On his in-ring return at Impact Wrestling and the move from Spike TV to Destination America: “Nothing but positivity. At first it went from a network that was pretty large, to a network that was smaller and didn’t have the reach of Spike TV. You’re always sort of tentative and don’t know what the future holds. You look at cases across the board of startup networks and when they get programming that people enjoy, those people call up their cable providers and ask for the packages that include that channel. I’m looking forward to it and it’s a great fit for us. I got a chance to go up to LA a few weeks ago and spend some time with the folks from Destination America. They are phenomenal people and are excited to have us on their network.”

On why he feels TNA is so popular in Europe: “I think the obvious thing is we have a broader reach over there. WWE is on paid TV over there and we are on free TV so we reach more homes. When we go over there, it is my favorite place to wrestle. The crowds are so much fun and so into every match. The last few years we have put on shows that are three and a half hours long, and sometimes that can get tiresome for the crowd. That’s not the case with the UK, they stick with us and it’s a lot of fun. Also I think as far as drawing in more UK fans, the fact we have been doing the British Boot Camp for the past two years helps. Rockstar Spud he is just on fire and the sky is the limit for him. He gets it, he loves wrestling, he is passionate about the business, entertaining, and always coming up with new ideas.”

On if he’s ever considered a career as a commentator: “Yes I have and I actually have my own podcast. I started it about eight months ago on DVMPE.com, ITunes, Stitcher, and it’s called “Push the Button”. The interesting thing about is it’s not about wrestling, it is it has nothing to do with wrestling. It’s the things that interest me outside of the wrestling world. Things like politics and religion, things that are supposed to be the most important things in peoples’ lives but for some reason were not supposed to talk about these things. I always wanted to sort of have an open discussion, be able to talk about them, not get mad or upset, and walk away as friends. My co-host happens to be a Christian and I am not. We talk about and delve into all sorts of different topics.”

On if he feels he will return to the world title picture this year: “That is always something in the back of every wrestler’s head I think. I don’t think you should get into this business if it’s not your ultimate goal. Well, maybe I shouldn’t say that, everybody has different goals but that’s always been my goal. I think I went through some transitions in the last few years, and this last year I really focused my energy back into the business. I have done this for 15, almost 16 years now, and you go through those weaning periods. I’ve fallen in love with the business again and that’s definitely on my list of goals to achieve this year.”

On his time as part of the Aces & Eights: “Creatively, you’re dealing with a group of ten guys that all have different ideas, people who are writing stuff behind the scenes, and at the end of the day you all have to agree on certain things. I think in every situation and match I have been in in the wrestling business, I never looked backed and said, “that was awesome, boy I just loved that match I was involved in”. Usually it’s actually the opposite. I ignore all the positive things that happened in the match and focus on the little things that irritate me that somebody else might not even notice. There is certain things I wish I could change. I wish we could of played some things out a little longer, but I also feel at some point the Aces and Eights segments were eating up so much time on TV. That would be my only regret or criticism. We would come out four times a night and it would lose its luster after you already heard the song three times, by the fourth time it means even less.”

On an idea he wanted to do that was turned down: “There was a program I pitched in the WWE for a character idea. It was a heel and had to do with laying guys out back stage with the camera never seeing who it was. I was a baby face on TV but all these people would be laid out backstage. Back in Vietnam, they would lay ace of spades cards on the dead bodies of the killed. It was an idea that was given to me by Steve Austin at one point. So that would be my calling card and then at some point I would come out to make the big save and turn on who I was saving to reveal myself. Throw an ace of spades card on them after. After pitching in WWE it got turned down, so I pitched it in TNA and they liked it but nothing came of it. I try to as much as I can stay out of that aspect of the business. I don’t involve myself in story lines and angles. I take what is given to me and make the most of it.”

On who he has enjoyed working with the most in his career: “Who did I enjoy the most? I enjoyed working with Taker. He was amazing to work with and so helpful. He took MYP and myself under his wings. I always felt like in the WWE that there were two mountain tops. There was the SmackDown mountain with Taker, Batista, Kane, Booker T, and Rey Mysterio on top of the mountain, and they were throwing rope ladders down. Lending helping hands, saying, “Come on up here, the weather is fine, we can all breathe up here, and we can all make money together”. On the other mountain, you had people who shall remain nameless, who were pushing boulders and hot pots of oil down the mountain to get you off. I remember Taker being enormously helpful in my career and really gave me some fantastic advice. Some of it I took, some of it I didn’t. Who would I like to work most with today? In TNA, I have yet to get my hands on Gunner and he is the total package. He has a tremendous look, his work is amazing, what he does in the ring looks believable, great on the mic, and passionate about the business. So I would really like to get my hands on him. I’m getting ready to do something with EC3 that I’m really looking forward to. He has been one of my favorite people to watch the last few years. MVP and I have never had a chance to wrestle each other. We tagged when we were in the WWE and have been friends for several years, but have never had the chance to do anything in the ring against each other.”

On Samoa Joe parting ways with TNA: “Joe was a locker room leader, no question about it. Not a locker room leader that raised his hand and says, “I want to be the leader, I want to be your leader, I want you to look up to me”. People just naturally gravitated to him and his respect is all earned. When a guy like that leaves it impacts the locker room. In the business, we have come accustomed to people coming and going all the time, that’s just how this industry operate. Were still friends and still all connected. You can go five, ten years without talking to somebody, and then bump into them and pick up like it was yesterday. Joe, whatever he does, even if it’s just indies, he will be just fine.”

Grado Launches Social Media Campaign To Try And Use A Madonna Song For His Entrance

TNA performer Grado (aka Graene Stevely) has launched a social media campaign with the goal of convincing pop artist Madonna to allow him to use her song, “Like A Prayer” for his pro wrestling ring entrance.

“This Friday on American telly I was getting the go-ahead for my match with Al Snow from The Hydro [in Glasgow] to be shown in full, with the “Like A Prayer” entrance — I was over the moon,” wrote Grado on his official Facebook page.

Grado noted that he received an email stating that the song was “denied on behalf of Madonna.” He would follow that up by launching the aforementioned social media campaign called the “#SayYesMadonna” campaign.

Ethan Carter III Talks WWE vs. TNA, Meeting Vince McMahon & More

TNA wrestler Ethan Carter III recently spoke with Glenn Moore and Steve Guy on the “This Is Awesome Wrestling Show” to talk about WWE vs. TNA and other topics.

Below are highlights from the interview:

On the freedom he has in TNA compared to WWE: “Doing things like indies or any sort of outside appearances, stuff of that nature, what’s cool about TNA you can build yourself as a brand and they allow it. You’re not their property as much as your own businessman. I can get gigs. I can be doing a TV commercial where I’m cleaning a toilet, and they would be totally cool with it and think that’s fun. As opposed, elsewhere (WWE), where I can use my celebrity to do something great and they shoot it down because they don’t profit off it. TNA is awesome.”

On being able to work indy promotions, as well as TNA: “Indies are cool, because there are fans that love wrestling. It’s always fun and it’s a different environment. I don’t want to say that wrestling on TV isn’t fun, because I’m a dude on TV and I’m having fun every time I wrestle on TV because I always win.

There’s a little more freedom to experiment in matches you’re doing on the indies. I think it’s cool because you get to satisfy your career and your need to be on TV with TNA, plus on the weekend if you want to go out there and do something, that’s cool too. I could go put a wig on and wrestle as Elvis Carter the Third, and that would be funny.”

On meeting Vince McMahon for the first time: “Well, this is ironic, Vince McMahon loved me and he loved my crazy hair. And we did some awful cologne commercial; that was the Mark Henry Cologne. He produced and wrote every bit of that segment. And he laughed hysterically when we were doing it. So, he thought it was awesome. Then, I was never on Raw again. So I guess it wasn’t that good. But I have nothing but respect and the guy was cool. He was always a straight shooter. I can’t say that about everyone in that company, but Vince will always tell you like it is.”

On the difference between working in WWE and TNA: “It’s a little more relaxed. No walking on eggshells. There’s not the constant fear of people going to stab you in the back for their personal gain, because for some reason, that’s the atmosphere that is bred in WWE sometimes.

It’s relaxed, it’s cool. They were very welcoming, especially being a new guy, which is hard coming in as a new person. Everyone was nothing but cool to me. I have great friends in WWE, still do, but TNA is more of a brotherness. ”

Christopher Daniels Talks About Being Gone From TNA, How Much Longer He’ll Wrestle

Former TNA performer Christopher Daniels recently spoke with Vaughn Johnson of Philly.com about a number of topics. Below are highlights from the interview.

On how things have gone for him now that he’s over a year removed from being in TNA: “Well, I feel like we were very lucky that I think the last year, year-and-a-half in TNA, I think people were sort of disappointed in how we were used. So when we left TNA, there was a good demand for us as a team … not just in Ring of Honor, but on the independent scene and overseas. I feel like we’ve been very lucky and will continue to be lucky that Frankie and I have had the opportunity to wrestle a lot of great team out on the independent scene and in Ring of Honor. It’s cool that we can sort of bring our act together around the world, around the United States to a lot of the independent companies and continue to do what we love to do.”

On his thoughts of wrestling promotions on television in the U.S.: “I think it’s a great time to be a wrestling fan to have all of these different alternatives to WWE, and not to say that WWE is bad in any way. WWE is what it is. It’s the model of professional wrestling. There’s a lot of great stuff happening on WWE television right now, but there are a lot of alternatives as well like TNA, Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground coming into play in the last year and New Japan finally getting their foot in the door here in the United States. I’ve had the opportunity to watch a couple of episodes of that television show and I think it’s just a matter of time with WrestleKingdom 9 being broadcast on pay-per-view here in the States, and that television show, that New Japan is going to make a move to try to do more things in the United States whether it’s doing more crossover dates with Ring of Honor or doing something on their own.”

On how wrestlers feel about the current state of the business: “I think that a lot of the guys that are at the independent level are a lot of the guys looking to branch out on television and there’s a lot of opportunity for them with Lucha Underground, with TNA moving to Destination America, with Ring of Honor still going strong on Sinclair’s syndicated stations. There’s a lot of opportunity to break out and get on television in one or more of these companies.

Then you can’t forget that the strides that NXT has taken to become not just the feeder system for the WWE, but it’s own brand. I know that they just had their third or fourth special recently and there’s not a bad word about NXT going around anywhere. Everybody’s thrilled about the guys that are in NXT, the action that they see and the type of show that NXT is, and that also being an alternative to the things that you see on WWE.”

On how much longer he thinks he’ll wrestle: “As long as I want. Right now, I don’t see an end yet. That’s crazy to say, but if someone told me that I would be wrestling four days a week for the foreseeable future, I ‘d be fine with that. I actually challenge people to try and get me to the point where I’m too beat up to wrestle or I’m too tired to wrestle. I want to wrestle. Right now, I feel good. I’m always actively looking for bookings and trying to continue to get better and do more and try to expand my repertoire and just continue to make this career what it is. I’m not looking to retire anytime soon and I’m challenging promotions out there to try to work me to death. I dare you.”

Several of the TNA regular performers are said to be very happy that the recent set of television and pay-per-view tapings are now over. It was said to be a long five days for all involved, with many of the wrestlers working almost every single taping.

It was noted over the weekend that Wrestle-1 performer Jimmy Suzuki was headed to Orlando for a “big TNA announcement” on Monday.
