Since then, Dixie has posted another tweet apologizing for how the aforementioned tweet came off. You can check out Dixie’s apology tweet below.

Update TNA Reportedly Making An Offer To CM Punk

On Wednesday, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reported that TNA recently made a lucrative offer to CM Punk similar to the money Hulk Hogan was being paid by the promotion a few years ago.

Since then, Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com reached out to sources in TNA, who told him there was no truth the story. “No offer was made, officially or via an intermediary – no truth to that rumor.”

People close to Punk are saying that he currently has no interest in returning to pro wrestling, much less for TNA.

There were also reports over the weekend that CM Punk was hanging out in the locker room at a live event for Ohio Valley Wrestling. While Punk was at the show (as a guest of Cliff Compton), he was not in the locker room and was not socializing with the wrestlers there. Punk was there to visit OVW owner Danny Davis.

Eddie Edwards On Not Being On Bound For Glory, TNA/Spike TV Negotiations & More

The following are highlights of a new Ring Rust Radio interview with Eddie Edwards:

Edwards on moving to Wednesday and Spike TV negotiations: “As far as the move to Wednesday, I think it was a good idea, you know, with the NFL having the Thursday night games televised now, I thought it was a good idea because it’s a similar fan base and it’s just a smart thing to do. As far as the contract situation, you know, we have nothing to do with that so we just focus on our stuff in the ring and let that stuff handle itself; if you can’t control it, no need to worry about it.”

Edwards on working with Team 3D and The Hardys, and what he and Davey Richards have learned from the experience: “I mean, we have no choice but to learn from being in the ring with those guys. Both teams are legends and me and Davey both watched them growing up and we want to have careers like both of those guys. Being in there, you have no choice but to learn and see what true tag wrestling is and it’s just an honor to be in there with guys of that caliber.”

Edwards on whether he prefers to work tag team or singles: “Right now it’s all tag team stuff, I feel like we have something great going and I would never want to do anything to deter that. Do I look forward to singles matches? Yes, but right now the main concentration is tag wrestling.”

On disappointment that The Wolves are not scheduled for Bound For Glory: “I think as competitors we want to be on every event that they have, but I think they were just trying to play it safe due to Davey’s injury and whatnot. I know that we’re both disappointed but they gotta do what’s best for the company. Either way it’ll still be a great show.”

The most important aspect of building an entertaining match: “I think it would be trying to connect with the fans. The crowd, you have to get that emotion out of them, so that’s the main focus because if the crowd is not paying attention and they’re not emotionally involved they’re not going to care, so you have to make that connection.”

On some of the differences between American wrestling and Japanese wrestling, both in terms of style and crowd interaction: “The style is definitely more hard-hitting and more intense than one might see in the States, and the crowd, you almost have to earn their respect because they almost look at it as a pure sport over there, so they’re waiting to see what you can do and once you get them reacting to what you’re doing, you know you’re doing something right because they won’t just give it to you, you have to earn it.”

Independent wrestlers who would be a good fit in TNA: “There’s so many talented guys out there right now, the Indies is overflowing with them. It’s unfortunate because obviously everyone can’t be seen all the time, but obviously Ring of Honor has a lot of great guys, I don’t know if they’re considered Indy or not, but look at the roster for PWG. You could just pick and choose from that roster and so many of those guys would be ready to jump right into TNA.”

Would Edwards prefer to wrestle with Davey Richards in a tag team match or wrestle against him in his final match either with the company or his career: “That’s a good one, could I do them both? I don’t know, it’s a tough one, I think it’d be, depending on who our opponents are, tag wrestling.”

  • TNA Reportedly Tried To Sign CM Punk, Details On What They Had Planned

TNA apparently made a play recently for CM Punk. It was said to be done in similar fashion to how they reached out to Alberto Del Rio, which is through an intermediary who is friends with Punk.

The idea was that Punk would be the top star of the company with pay similar to what Hulk Hogan was making when he was with the promotion.

TNA was hoping that Punk could be their flagship star and if he signed with them, could help them get a strong television deal.

Punk reportedly expressed zero interest in working for TNA, or in pro wrestling in general.

Bram Talks Being Married To Charlotte, Being Ric Flair’s Son-In-Law, TNA’s TV Situation

The following are highlights of a new Daily Mirror interview with TNA star Bram:

On TNA’s TV situation: “TNA management and Dixie [Carter] keep us in the loop as much as they can. I’m confident in the company. I don’t worry about it. Whatever they choose to do I know it’s going to work out.”

On being married to NXT Women’s Champion Charlotte: “I’m doing my own thing in TNA and she’s doing her own thing there. We have a bond in wrestling and in most relationships, wrestling can get in the way. We both understand when we’re away for a long time or we’re hurt or you’ve got to do things some people wouldn’t be too happy with. There’s a nice understanding there which makes our relationship a lot easier.”

On being Ric Flair’s son-in-law: “It’s not something you think about. If you had told me all of the things I would have done, people that I would have met when I was 13, I would have been like ‘wow’. But as the years pass, everything kind of seems normal. From an outside point of view it might seem cool or bizarre, but to me it’s normal. It’s a great relationship, it has been from day one, he’s a hell of a guy. As long as Ashley’s happy, he’s happy.”

Kharma Talks About Making Out With Devon, Not Wanting To Return To TNA, ROH

The following are highlights of a new Main Event Madness interview with Kharma:

On her Kickstarter project: “Kharma in general has been something that I live by, you get out what you put into the world, I’ve always tried to live by that. So I started a Kickstarter that is a website, that could actually track the good deeds you do. So if you went out and bought a cup of coffee for some reason, there would be a serial number or member number that would allow people to login to the website and track your good deeds.”

On one of her favorite moments in wrestling: “Making out with a bloody Devon in the middle of the ring.”

On who she would want to wrestle: “Mickie James. I think everybody wants to see that.”

On her future plans: “I am looking to encourage and nurture the next generation of wrestler. I don’t want to be one of the people that stayed in the game to long.”

On a possible return to TNA: “I want to stay a WWE Alumni.” After saying that, she went on to say that you’d see her in a Ring Of Honor ring before a TNA ring.

  • TNA & Global Force Reportedly Talking With The Same Networks

With TNA currently shopping around Impact Wrestling in hopes of landing a new home for their flagship show in 2015, it appears that they’ve got some competition in Jeff Jarrett’s upstart Global Force Wrestling promotion.

According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, both TNA and Global Force are negotiating with several of the same networks in hopes of securing a TV deal for next year. It’s been rumored that TNA the companies TNA has been in talks with include CMT, WGN and Velocity.

It’s believed that TNA has the upper hand over Global Force, since TNA is an operational company with a proven track record of drawing approximately 1 million viewers per week.

On the downside (for both companies), general interest in new wrestling programming is limited and Spike TV not renewing Impact does not help the leverage of either company.

Another issue with TNA’s TV negotiations is that most of the stations they are talking with do not air in Canada, which has always been a strong region for pro wrestling.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Sept. 29, 2014) — TNA Wrestling, in conjunction with Japanese-based promotion Wrestle-1, will produce and broadcast its biggest event of the year, Bound For Glory, outside of the United States. Emanating from the famed Korakuen Hall in Tokyo, Japan, Bound For Glory will be available exclusively on Pay-Per-View (PPV) Sunday, Oct. 12, beginning at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT.

At Bound For Glory, arguably the most-recognized Japanese athlete in all of professional sports, The Great Muta, will join forces with “The Japanese Buzzsaw” Tajiri to face Muta’s former student, the “reborn” Great Sanada, who will be teamed with his new mentor and leader of the revolution, James Storm in a much anticipated grudge match.

  • Kurt Angle Holding Press Conference To Announce Where He’s Wrestling Next

During an interview with AlternativeNation.net, Kurt Angle spoke about the next chapter in his career, now that he’s a free agent and on the road to recovery after recent knee surgery. Will he stay with TNA or return home to WWE for one final run? Angle said:

“I can’t really say who I’m going with yet or what company I’m going to sign with. I am going to sign, but I’m going to just sign for one year, and that’s that. I think I’m pretty much done, I’m just going to have the best year I can have. Hopefully it’ll be my best year, then I’m going to retire.

Angle says he will not be cleared to wrestle again until January, but a press conference is scheduled for sometime in October to announce his new deal.

“I went with the company that was going to really emphasize what I wanted, and that was a limited wrestling schedule,” Angle said. “I would say no more than 40 dates a year, that’s what I wanted, that’s where I feel I am at in my career right now. That’s a lot of the reason, like I said, the company that I’m signing with is a company that really wanted to take care of me, both from a wrestling standpoint and a financial standpoint, and I’m very happy with it.”

The Olympic Gold Medalist has wrestled virtually all of the top names in the business over the past decade, but still has a number of opponents he’d like to work with before he retires. Interestingly, when asked to name guys he’d like to work with in 2015, most of the names he mentioned are WWE Superstars.

“I would say right now the wrestlers are MVP, EC3, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, definitely Rusev is one of the top ones, and last but not least, I think we would probably have the greatest match of all time, and that would be Daniel Bryan,” Angle said. “I would love to do a program with Jack (Swagger(, I just don’t know what they’re doing with him, and what direction they want to go with Jack. He’s talented, I just don’t know if he’s at the level that he could be.”
