Scott Hall Reacts To TNA’s Lackluster Bound For Glory Attendance – “A Sad State Of Affairs”

TNA Wrestling held its premiere event, Bound For Glory, this past Sunday in San Diego, California, and was unable to fill a good portion of the 12,000 seat Viejas Arena. To combat this startling lack of attendance, some fans were guided to seats in the lower bowl and moved near the hard camera in order for the venue to appear full during the pay-per-view broadcast. Scott Hall, who appeared for the organization as recently as 2010, weighed in on the lackluster turnout with the following message on Twitter.

Despite the company’s ills, he feels that former New World Order cohorts Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff are not to blame. In response to a fan saying it’s their fault, Hall wrote, “The history is that [Bischoff] and Hulk left alone, draw money. They never had the control needed to pop that company in my opinion..”

In response to whether WWE head Vince McMahon will ultimately buy the company out, Hall wrote, “Nothing to buy….” In his opinion, that includes talent. Hall wrote to a fan, “Name three people WWE would want…”

Hall added that he he has no interest in returning to the company.

Ticketmaster Seating Chart Shows 6-Sided Ring At Upcoming TNA Live Event

The Ticketmaster seating chart for TNA’s upcoming Impact Wrestling World Tour live event at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka, KS shows the old six-sided ring instead of the four-sided ring.

Looking at the other TNA live events, this is the only TNA show that has a seating chart that shows a 6-sided ring. It could be an error, but it could be a sign TNA is bringing back the 6-sided ring.

Here’s a photo of the seating chart from Ticketmaster.com:

HUGE Match CONFIRMED For The Next TNA Impact Wrestling Taping [>>]

Mickie James Speaks On If She’s Done With Pro Wrestling, Her Music Career & More

The following are highlights from a recent Temple-News web interview with former TNA Knockout Mickie James:

On if she’s done with pro wrestling: “It’s certainly not the last time you’ll see me on television in a wrestling ring. I’m far from done. When I retire, I want to retire the right way. That’s what we all hope for, right?”

On balancing music and pro wrestling: “It’s one of those things where you have to make time and work around your schedule. Coming from the WWE where I was on the road 200 to 250 days of the year and then crossing over to TNA where the schedule was much lighter gave me some time to work on the music. But it’s not easy cash, I will say that.”

Magnus Speaks On Fans Wanting TNA To Go Out Of Business, Social Media

The following are highlights from a recent Busted Open Satelitte radio interview with TNA Impact Wrestling star Magnus:

On people expressing negativity towards TNA through social media platforms: “People think because that they watch a few DVD’s that document one part of history and how the business went and they are able to predict what’s going to happen in a completely new set of circumstance and I tend to ignore it and I don’t really give it much thought. These are basically the people that throw something out there with no filter because they are nobodies and I’m not trying to knock anyone. It’s easy to say when you have nothing to lose and to throw out an opinion in the hope that it actually happens and then you can say: ‘See, I was right. I told you.’ For some reason now we live in an age now where all wrestling fans think are obsessed with showing on how much knowledge they have and its either you’re just a fan or you’re in the business.

“Your knowledge is kind of irrelevant unless you are in the industry or unless you are making a living off of our sweat or talking about and I’m one of those people too, I have a column in a wrestling magazine that I get paid to do but the only difference is that I get paid to do it because people read that magazine because they want to hear something’s on the ground that makes for a nice change. I use Twitter as a promotional tool and somewhat as a barometer, it’s like an instant focus group and I think if you take it anymore serious, then you are probably wasting your own time and I tell my fellow peers the same thing especially the younger guys who don’t have as much experience for their age and are bothered and affected by this kind of stuff on twitter and I said look: ‘This is what twitter is. In terms to your significance, your life, your career and your psyche, don’t take it seriously then you should do, which is not very much at all.'”

On giving an inside look at TNA: “Honestly, I am not qualified to answer that. I’m not trying to dodge the question, I promise you. I’m not really qualified to speak on physical matters or anything like that as far as the company is concerned. I will say this that any wrestling fan who claims to be a wrestling fan should get off this bandwagon of: ‘Let’s all talk about the state of TNA’s business.’ Anyone would tell you that and I’m talking about people on Wall Street, people in any industry, particularly the entertainment industry where the reputation of image is very important, that sometimes all you need is the rumor even if there is no validity to it and then the rumor can actually become a possibility. It boggles my mind there are people out there that you read their bio or they will tell you: ‘I eat, sleep and breathe wrestling man. I love it’ but then they are the ones that say: ‘TNA is going to go out of business and yada, yada, yada.’

“Do you want that to happen? Do you want to have less wrestling on TV? Do you want all of these performers that you admire have to go find work somewhere else? I don’t understand that. That to me has always been a strange thing and the irony of it is that these are the people that claim to be the most dedicated wrestling fans and the one who are not paying for the Pay-Per-Views, they are illegally downloading them and they are busy knocking everything at every opportunity and becoming armchair writers or armchair quarterbacks as the saying goes. You are harming the business more then you are aiding it and I don’t understand why would do that if you claim to love it so much. It’s not me trying to say: ‘Oh please, stop expressing you opinion.’ But if you are being overwhelming negative all the time then you should focus it somewhere else and focus it on yourself.”

On focusing to be better: “Normally, it’s studying tapes. Sometimes things happen organically based on the right opponent and suddenly and I’ve borrowed more than a couple things from Japan and the trips that I had over there over the last year have been very beneficial in that respect and being so close to (Samoa)Joe and A.J. (Styles) and learning from guys like that and also, it’s funny because you do something once because it just happens to fit in that particular match and then sometimes the reaction is so strong or somebody that you trust like A.J. or Kurt or Joe, who really knows there stuff, will say: ‘Hey, that’s a keeper.’ Pretty much my entire move set as we like to call it, is stuff that I have done somewhere along the line and when I comeback either Kurt, Joe or A.J. have said: ‘That’s a keeper’ and no more has to be said about that. I’ll keep doing that and once you do that, you are good from there.

“Once you get your foundation, you can play around with variations and let it happen very organically and it’s up to me to make it happen. People didn’t see me from day one and say: ‘This is his future.’ It was based off of my work with Samoa Joe in 2012 and I stepped up and it’s funny because one you start getting labeled, that’s when you get a lot of pushback and it bears repeating, the only reason why the conversation is happening is because of what I’ve done. The pressure is fine, I can handle that but it’s up to me to make it happen and to take that step and make it mean something.”

Alex Shelley Receives Good Medical News, Feels He Should Continue Wrestling

Former TNA Impact Wrestling star Alex Shelley detailed his injuries leading up to a visit to the doctor where he awaited information on whether or not he should step away from the world of professional wrestling. The following is a summary of tweets Shelley posted on his official Twitter account.

September 2012, my first @njpw1972 tour. 4 broken front teeth via rabbit clothesline from Rocky Romero. I could hear my teeth “Ping!” when they hit the guard rail and spit chunks out as I finished the match. Later, I could smell the burning and taste the dust when they ground down the shards to bond them when I went back to Detroit after the tour.

April 2013, partially paralyzed vocal cord via Prince Devitt lariat. Had to change some of the songs at band practice and now I sound like a full time smoker. Not counting the damage from the brutal dropkicks to the face.

June 2013, slightly fractured skull via Plancha from Taka Michinoku. Spinal fluid actually leaked out my nose for a week after and I had I idea of the severity until I went to the doctor weeks later. Wrestled again that night against Devitt in a dream come true.

Finally, September 2013, severe sciatica via Liger Bomb from @taichi0319. Bad enough injury that I had to let a bunch of people down and forego my chance to become a 3 time IWGP Jr. Tag Champion. Had a hard time walking, couldn’t workout, and totally rethought my life.

I don’t consider myself tough, persay. I just really love wrestling. And @njpw1972 is wrestling. I was “orphaned”, by my choice, and NJPW gave me a home. So while I waited in the doc’s office, I really thought that 2012-2013 was my favorite year of my career. I grew the most as a wrestler, I (hopefully) won over @njpw1972 fans and proved to everyone I could adapt and learn and go in the ring. This was the first time I thought “Maybe I need to get out.” So, understandably, I was pretty scared when I went in again last week. But nope. I am supposed to continue wrestling, I think. Cleared to lift weights, burnout on cardio, and should make a full recovery. :)

X-Division Title
Ultimate X Match
-Jeff Hardy vs. Austin Aries vs. Chris Sabin vs. Samoa Joe vs. Manik

As soon as the match begins, Sabin immediately climbs to the top. All the guys notice this and he backs off and heads to the floor. He yanks Aries out of the ring while everyone else fights on the inside. Aries slams Sabin’s head into the steel structure on the outside. Everyone else follows to the outside and brawls while Sabin and Manik head back into the ring. Sabin catches Manik in the tree of woe and stomps on his crotch. Joe pulls Sabin down and hits him with a nasty series of right hands. Joe sends Sabin in the corner and follows with a splash enzugiri combo. Joe hits the snap mare and chops his back before kicking his chest. Joe runs right into a springboard dropkick from Manik. Aries and Hardy climb up the structure while Manik mounts Sabin with punches in the corner. Aries tries to scale the ropes, but Hardy pulls him down and Manik tosses him to the outside. Manik hits a double hurricanrana on Hardy and Sabin before locking in the octopus, then a modified sharpshooter on Sabin. Aries comes in, breaks it up, and hits a kneebreaker belly to back suplex combination. Aries goes back up but Hardy yanks him down and hits a backwards powerbomb style move that results in Aries landing face-first.

Hardy goes out to the floor and pulls out a ladder. Joe runs after him and flies through the ropes, crashing into Hardy on the floor. Joe picks up the ladder, but is caught with a baseball slide from Sabin. Manik hits Sabin with a dropkick out to the apron. Aries heads to the top and dives to the outside to take out Joe and Manik. Aries heads into the ring and props himself up lazily in the corner, posing, before heading back up to the ropes. Manik slides in and pulls Aries down to the mat. Aries and Manik trade uppercuts, and Manik backs Aries into the corner. Manik catches Aries with a boot, then hits Sabin with both boots. Sabin tosses Manik into a hurricanrana on Aries. Manik hits a springboard hurricanrana, taking Sabin and himself over the top rope to the outside. Joe punches away at Aries in the corner, taking him down to the mat. Joe seats Aries on the top turnbuckle and tries for the musclebuster, but Aries counters into a sloppy crucifix bomb. Aries hits Hardy with the corner dropkick, then hits Joe with the same move. Aries hits Hardy with another dropkick, then does the same to Joe. Aries tries for the brainbuster on Joe, but Joe counters into a rear naked choke. Joe swings Aries around before tossing him across the ring. Manik goes for the ropes, but Joe grabs his legs and yanks him down into an atomic drop before hitting a big boot and senton splash.

Sabin tosses Hardy into the corner, and Hardy kicks Sabin away, then hits the whisper in the wind. Hardy rolls to the outside, and goes back for the ladder, bringing it into the ring. Hardy sets the ladder up under the belt, and climbs, but Joe is up on the other side, and he slams Hardy’s face into the ladder to knock him off. Aries knocks Joe off the ladder with a top rope dropkick. Manik springboards and catches the ropes and Aries climbs the ladder. Aries and Manik meet in the middle, but Sabin tips over the ladder and sends both men crashing into the ropes. Sabin picks up Hardy and shoulders him, tossing him out in a front slam. Sabin poses before trying for a superkick. Hardy blocks it and counters into a twist of fate, sending Sabin from the ring. Sabin is telling Velvet to get into the ring and stop Hardy. She doesn’t want to. Sabin simply throws her into the ring himself. Sky stands up and Hardy turns around and sees her. While he’s distracted, Sabin is on the opposite side of the ladder beginning his climb. Hardy finally notices, attempts to climb the ladder himself, but it’s too late. Sabin has the belt. Hardy had a hand on it as well, but Sabin blasted Hardy with belt and Hardy went crashing down to the canvas. Sabin wins.

Winner and NEW TNA X-Division Champion: Chris Sabin

In-Ring Segment: Abyss Returns!

Christopher Daniels and Kazarian, who lost during the pre-show Gauntlet Match, are coming out to the ring. Kaz has a mic and he says not since the premiere of Brokeback Mountain have two men been screwed more than Bad Influence. The fact that they aren’t wrestling for the titles is an embarrassment, not only to TNA, but to them, the best tag team in the business, and to each and every one of the turds in attendance. Daniels says this is Bound for Glory, the PPV that is supposed to celebrate that which is TNA, and despite the fact that TNA has treated them like the step-children of the company, they are TNA. They are the best tag team this company has ever seen, and Daniels knows a way that TNA can make it up to them. Fact: tonight, Bad Influence beat Chavo Guerrero and Hernandez. Fact: Eric Young and Joe Pancake aren’t a tag team, but a fisherman and a lawyer, so their win shouldn’t count. And third, the company like to throw curveballs and throw people into the match at the last minute, and based on their pristine record, Bad Influence should be added to the card tonight. They are interrupted by Eric Young who makes his way to the ring wearing trunks and a backwards baseball cap. Young tells BI that he’s not a trouble maker. He doesn’t feel bad, he doesn’t want a match, he’s already beaten them once tonight. Young says he’s here on official, scientific business. He’s a scientist. BI did something earlier, they created a monster. Everyone here and EY know, and BI are the only two that don’t realize that they should run. Young tells them to run. Daniels shake Young’s hand. As Kaz goes to shake his hand, they attack him instead. This leads to Abyss returning and coming out to the ring. Abyss cleans house, hitting the Blackhole Slam on both Daniels and Kazarian. Young, who is still in the ring, looks worried. Abyss extends his hand and helps Young up. Young smiles as Abyss poses for the fans.

Backstage: James Storm & Gunner

Backstage, we see Jeremy Borash. Borash plugs the Twitter and Facebook stuff and then introduces his guests, the TNA Tag-Team Champions Gunner and James Storm. Gunner says BroMans, who won the pre-show Gauntlet Match, earned their shot tonight. He tells them not to worry about their tan, their gym, their girls or their dancing. He says they aren’t ready for the champs. James Storm then says BroMans were lucky. He tells them he’s sorry about their damn luck.

Jesse pulls Gunner to the mat by his hair, tags out to Robbie, and Robbie goes right for the rear chin lock. Gunner tries to connect with the backslide, but Jesse comes in with a dropkick and takes out Gunner.

Robbie E. is taunting Gunner, slapping him around a bit. Gunner fights his way out of their corner and hits a running knee on Robbie. Jesse sends Storm from the corner, and prevents a tag. Robbie drops a knee over Gunner’s throat, and tags back out to Jesse. Jesse comes in with a series of stomps to Gunner’s face, sending him into the corner and following up with a sidewalk slam. Jesse heads up to the middle rope, but he’s stopped by Gunner. Gunner goes up after Jesse and hits a huge fall away slam off the second rope.

Storm sends Robbie into the corner and is backdropped to the apron, but he catches Robbie with a kick to the back of the head. Storm hits a running neckbreaker on Robbie for two. Jesse attacks Storm from behind, and Gunner attacks Jesse. Gunner is double teamed and sent from the ring, and Jesse and Robbie seat Storm on the top turnbuckle. BroMans try for a double superplex, but Gunner takes Robbie away with an electric chair drop, and Storm hits a super-front-plex, launching Jesse on Robbie. The finish comes when the heels throw one of the belts in the ring. Storm gets distracted for a moment, and turns around right into the double-team finisher by BroMans. That’s all she wrote.
