Matt Morgan Says He Knows His Future Plans Already, Talks Possibility Of TNA Return

The following are highlights from a recent interview with former TNA Impact Wrestling wrestler Matt Morgan:

On the possibility of a TNA Impact Wrestling return: “Definitely if the timing is right. Timing is everything in this sport. I’ve always said that and it’s the truth. But I do not want to go back somewhere where it’s business as usual and let’s do the start – stop stuff again. It’s got to be full guns blazing, let’s do this thing. You’ve got a seven-foot, 330-pound steroid-free monster that is the most durable thing there is right now. Please tell of someone who is my size and hasn’t had an injury in ten years. I’ve never missed time for anything. That being said, let’s go. Let’s just come out of the gates blasting.”

On his future: “I’ll put it to you this way without saying too much. I know exactly what I’ll be doing and where I’ll be heading and when I’ll be doing that.”

Report: Doctors Claim Hulk Hogan Might Be Able To Wrestle 2-3 More Times

The following are highlights from a recent PWTorch Livecast interview with WWE Hall Of Fame manager and long-time business partner of Hulk Hogan, “The Mouth Of The South” Jimmy Hart.

On whether or not we’ll see Hulk Hogan wrestle again: “I think you will. I just talked with Hulk a few days ago before he went up with the Dallas Cowboys and did some stuff with them. And his hips are doing great now, he finally got the last operation two months ago, he got that little gidget out of his back that was used if he had pain in his back. But, I think the doctors have got him where he might be able to get in that ring two or three more times.”

On another role he would like to see Hulk Hogan embrace: “I’d really like to see him really as an ambassador and go all over the world promoting wrestling. I think that’s what he really needs to do and climb back in the ring a little bit with the right person. Whatever Hulk wants to do, I’m always backing him on it.”

Austin Aries Speaks On Nearly Retiring, His Character, Kevin Nash Criticism

The following are highlights from a recent v2 Wrestling interview with TNA Impact Wrestling star Austin Aries:

On his on-air character: “You know, I find it funny that all the people that follow wrestling, people like yourselves, that they all kind of use the terms babyface and heel, and good guy or bad guy, because I don’t look at life like that and i don’t look at wrestling like that. I’m pretty much who I am, and I’m not everybody’s flavour, and I’m kind of polarising and some people like me and some people don’t. And just like everybody in life, some days I come to work and I’m not in a good mood, and some days I come to work and I’m in a great mood. And i think that’s like everybody. Nobody walks through life as a pure babyface per se or a pure heel, we all have shades of grey, and there’s some days we’re a little better than others, and some days we’re a little more ornery. And I think that I just embody that. I think Austin Aries is pretty consistent when he’s on the screen. I don’t think my attitude has changed a whole lot, other than letting people know that if you wanna cheer me, go right ahead. I’m not gonna stop you. Tell the people who make decisions what you want to see. Tell them who you wanna see on camera and in the ring.”

On his previous TNA run: “Eveybody likes to speculate that me and Austin Starr are somehow related. I always say that that guy never had a tattoo. I’ve watched all of his footage, the guy’s mildly entertaining, never really had a whole lot to sink his teeth into, but i certainly enjoyed him in the Kevin Nash Invitational Battle Royale, I’ll tell you that much.”

On whether Kevin Nash helped or hurt the X Division: “Kevin Nash is a recognisable name, and he was obviously someone they brought in because of who he was. And for him to hang out with us, you’ve got to understand that we had a blast. I had a blast working with Kevin, and if you go back and watch some of the Paparazzi (Productions) skits that I’ve seen, those guys all look like they’re having a great time. I think Kevin was doing what he could to help give the X Division guys at that time a little more personality and bring some of that out, and Kevin’s a great guy to do that because he’s full of personality.”

On his feelings about the wrestling industry: “I’ve been doing this so long now as a job and a profession that – it’s not that I don’t appreciate professional wrestling, but – it’s not something I do in my spare time. I have a lot of other things I enjoy doing, so when I’m done with work I kind of put it away. That doesn’t mean I don’t occasionally catch some other wrestling on television or Youtube, but there was such a long part of my life where I was really consumed with it, where it was all I thought about, and I just think as my career has progressed and as I have matured and the perspective of all this has changed a little bit, now it’s more of a job. That doesn’t mean I don’t love my job and have passion for my job, it’s just not something I spend a lot of my free time doing.”

On meeting the fans: “I think there’s a balance of fan interaction. I think sometimes there can be a little too much interaction. I know when I was a kid, the mystique of wrestlers and stuff was something that was kind of big, and if I got to hang out with them all the time i think that mystique can be lost. You’ve got to be careful not to over-expose and over-saturate (access to the wrestlers), because it loses that specialness.”

On his future: “I still feel that I perform at a level where I’ve got another ten years in me before I even start to think about maybe transitioning into something behind the scenes, but I’ve always been interested in the creative process of wrestling. I think that’s a part of what has helped me excel, because there’s a lot of guys who athletically are as gifted as I am, so I think it’s the mental aspect of the game that has helped me achieve the success that I have.”

On how close he came to retirement in 2011: “I had made the decision (to retire). It was just one of those situations where I didn’t feel that I was getting back what I was putting in. I didn’t want to be a prisoner to the world of wrestling; I didn’t want to be a guy who was trying to hustle every weekend and do a convention. I didn’t want to be Randy The Ram in 10, 20 years. I felt at that point of my life I was ok with transitioning into something else, and I’d stopped taking bookings and had nothing on my schedule, and before that really sunk in I got a call from TNA offering me the opportunity to come down there for an X Division qualifying match. and I figured, well why not take one more pay day, that certainly can’t hurt!”

Chris Jericho Comments On Current TNA Product, Fandango Program & More

The following are highlights of a recent Chris Jericho interview on Live Audio Wrestling (The LAW) out of Canada:

On his program with Fandango in WWE: “It’s actually a feather in my cap. Not to be a jerk, but he was working with Chris Jericho in his first match ever on the show at WrestleMania. If that doesn’t put you on a different level, then nothing will. I knew that he’d have to come back down to earth at some point, because the fans aren’t gonna believe in him working with other people, because there’s not a lot of Chris Jerichos out there, and I say that with all due respect. What I mean by that is a guy who’s been around for as long as I have, with the fanbase that I have, the reputation that I have. People know that it’s going to be good, and something special, no matter what it is. Even if it’s a guy they’ve never seen. I put a lot of input into what we did with him to build that.”

“Everything that we did, I meticulously thought of. “What should we do to get this guy over?” Well, rule number one – I want to try and get this leg drop over. Rule number two – I want him to be a kick-ass heel when he’s getting his heat, because the gimmick is so ridiculous that if he doesn’t show that viciousness during the match, no one’s going to buy it. Little tricks like that that I’ve learned over the years that other people don’t know, and Fandango doesn’t know because he’s inexperienced. It was, like I said, a real feather in my cap. Fandango, the night after WrestleMania, was the most over performer in the company.”

On his thoughts on the current TNA Impact Wrestling product: “TNA has to do something different. I think the worst move they’ve made was Hogan and Bischoff and Sting. Nothing against those guys, but we’ve seen it so many times. It’s the third go-around for those guys now in the last 15 years. There’s people out there, revolutionary people, that can take it in a different direction.”

“They’ve gotta get some different minds and some different faces and start working from within. That’s just my opinion. I think that they’re happy doing what they’re doing. They never get any bigger, they never get any smaller. If that’s what you’re into, that’s fine, but for me, I always want to take things to the next level and take some chances. If you don’t, and you’re just doing the same thing over and over again, then it gets boring. Good luck to them. I hope they do survive.”

There are certain times where you can watch a quarter hour and minute-by-minute and see where the girls are on there and doing certain things in the background, having a certain conversation. That works. We try not to go against the grain. Devon Talks About What’s Next For Him After Leaving TNA

Former TNA star Devon recently spoke with Florida Today about what’s next for him after leaving the company and becoming a free agent. He joked, “I’m going to Disney World!”

“Actually, I am going to spend more time with the family. I am not done with wrestling. I still have the Team 3D Academy in Kissimmee training wrestlers. There is still a lot for me to do, but I am going to relax a while and enjoy some time off. I will be able totrain more and get in the best shape of my life, and then focus on what is next. Only God knows what he has planned for me and where I am heading; I am just his co-pilot.”

When asked about if he has any regrets about the gimmicks he’s had throughout his career, he said:

“No,” he said. “Some might think I regret the Reverend D-Von character in the WWE, but I actually liked it. I think that was just a case where Paul Heyman and I just saw the character very differently. He is a genius and he would write these scripts for me that I didn’t feel were right for the character. If you don’t feel “it,” it is not going to work. It worked for awhile, but we were on two different pages. Paul created the Dudley Boyz and gave us our start, and I love that guy dearly, we just didn’t agree on the Reverend D-Von character. We bounced back after that character and went on to win championships, so it is all good.”
