TNA Mystery-Man 100% CONFIRMED (REAL *Spoiler*) + More HUGE TNA Roster Cuts!

D’Lo Brown Says He Would Return To WWE, Weighs In On Recent TNA Roster Cuts & More

D’Lo Brown appeared on VOC Nation, where he addressed his recent departure from TNA Wrestling, whether a return is possible, WWE, continuing to wrestle, and more.

On TNA’s financial problems and roster cuts: “Looking at things at 30,000 feet, I think that they’re going through some growing pains right now. They’re restructuring and trying to fortify their product. Taking the show on the road was a big financial burden. I think it’s part of the natural growing process of the company; (the roster cuts) were like pruning a tree.”

On whether TNA went on the road too soon: “Ready or not they had to go. It was time to move on. The crowds were becoming stale; they weren’t adding to the product, they were taking away from it.”

On whether his release was a surprise: “This was completely out of the blue. We just solidified a deal that Friday, and things changed over the weekend. It caught me completely by surprise.”

On a possible comeback to TNA: “The door is always open to return; we parted amicably. I felt like I did a really good job there and I received a lot of praise from the upper echelon. I’m open to a reconciliation.”

On whether he would entertain an offer from the WWE as a trainer: “Jobs don’t grow on trees, and those jobs are based on a need basis. If that opportunity ever arises, I’ll be ready for it, but in the meantime, I’ll do the things that I can do and have control over.”

On whether he will take wrestling bookings on the independent circuit: “Absolutely. I think that the match I had with Kurt Angle and then the next week with Joseph Park got the wrestling juices flowing again in me. I thought I was going to feel like hell and I actually felt good. I’m back in the gym killing it trying to get back into wrestling shape. I’ll be taking wrestling bookings and I’ll be out there having fun.”

Madison Rayne Comments On TNA Departure, Dixie Carter, More

Former TNA Knockout Madison Rayne recently discussed her departure from TNA Impact Wrestling in a new blog posted online on Wednesday afternoon.

“Let me first reiterate, I was not released from my contract on bad terms, with any ill feelings, or with the slightest bit of regret for giving everything I had to Impact Wrestling for 4 1/2 years!” she began. “I’ve had what seems like an endless number of tweets lately telling me that I need to go wrestle elsewhere, and people cannot believe I got fired because I was pregnant.”

Rayne continued, “Y’all, as much as I appreciate the support and the fact that people were affected enough by my release to generate some sort of emotion, please don’t stress over it. I’m surely not. As cliche as it may sound, if I am meant to be back in a wrestling ring on television, God will put me back there. And I have this overwhelming feeling that He will, but for right now I’m so excited and so looking forward to being a mommy and bringing the next generation of Queen Bee into the world.”

Update On The Great Muta’s Meeting At TNA Headquarters Today

Muta met with Jeff Jarrett (view a photo from the meeting) and TNA’s Andy Barton about the idea of TNA sending talent to his new Wrestle-1 promotion.

Jimmy Suzuki, a longtime photographer in Japan, was also at the meeting.

One would assume if TNA sends talent to Wrestle-1, that the exchange would be reciprocated, however nothing is confirmed at this point.

New Talent Coming To TNA, Clarification On Taeler Hendrix Being “Too Heavy”

– On Monday, we published an interview recap from the weekend with former TNA Knockout Taeler Hendrix. Hendrix appeared on the Greg DeMarco Show and said:

“I do have my qualms. Don’t tell me on my birthday that I’m ‘heavy’ to be on TV. I’m a size three, that’s not fat at all! I’m a role model for young girls, there’s nothing plastic about me.”

Based on the transcript that was published, it appeared that Hendrix was saying that it was TNA President Dixie Carter who told her she was “too heavy for TV.” After the interview recap got a lot of coverage from the online wrestling media – DeMarco clarified that the “too heavy” remark did not come from Dixie Carter directly:

– Aside from the ongoing #August1Warning campaign building towards the debut of a new TNA wrestler on Thursday night, there is a lot of talk backstage that more new wrestlers will be debuting soon.

Ryan Howe Discusses Gut Check Experience, Recent TNA Roster Cuts, WWE Tough Enough & More

Former OVW TV Champion and recent TNA Impact Wrestling Gut Check competitor and WWE Tough Enough V contestant Ryan Howe addressed a number of topics in an interview with WrestlingEpicenter.com (audio available here). Highlights from the interview are as follows:

On the TNA Gut Check Experience: “It was incredible. From the moment you get there, they treat you so well!,” said Howe. He feels he did what he could to make the best of his opportunity and thinks the door is still open there.”

On not going through on Gut Check: “None of them said, “Hey kid, this isn’t for you.” He says that he feels he has gotten better over the past few years and will continue to work hard to make it. He credits Al Snow for helping him out a lot. Howe jokes that maybe not getting signed that night was a good thing given all the guts to guys that did go through on Gut Check.”

On the Rockstar gimmick: “I want everyone to know it is legitimate. I don’t want to be thought of as a poser. I really play.” Howe says his look is clearly an 80’s rockstar look and playing the Star Spangled Banner with his tongue like Hendrix is something that he hopes will translate into maybe the father’s in the audience talking to their kids about the 80’s scene and their glory days chasing chicks or when they saw Hendrix play with his tongue. He says the look is legit, and that he thinks it helps him stand out. He also puts over that he’s teaming with TNA British Boot Camp winner Rockstar Spud in OVW currently.”

On being compared to Van Hammer: “I’m 25 so while I saw Van Hammer, I had to go back and look. I can see how a wrestler with that style was someone I looked up to.” He admits his age being so young, he didn’t recall him right off the bat but remembers him now. He says he respects those guys like Van Hammer and Max Payne/Man Mountain Rock. But, he simply feels his character is different and no one else presently is doing anything like it. James mentions that Van Hammer was working security last he had heard after discussing trying to interview him with the owner of Maryland Championship Wrestling.

On his music and time in bands: Howe opened up about his rock career talking about the albums he played on and a few tours he did as an opening act. “We opened for Puddle of Mud, Saliva, and Skid Row”, said Howe. James marks out a little being a huge fan of Skid Row. Howe says it was actually at that show that the wrestlers approached him and said he had a look for wrestling.

Howe describes his recorded music as “Throwback Rock”. He says his musical inspiractions are clearly AC/DC based. Some of the other bands had different tastes, one was a big grunge guy, the singer had a very deep voice like Danzig, so it turned out being a very cool mix of “Throwback Rock”.

On his story being very close to that of Hulk Hogan’s beginnings: “You know, I’d love to sit down one day and shoot the shit with him about that.” Howe shows his knowledge of Hulk’s story by quoting the name “Ruckus”, the name of Hulk’s rock band. Impressive! He says it is very cool to have that in common with a star the size of Hulk Hogan.

As asked on Impact Wrestling by Al Snow, why wrestling over music? Howe says when he was in a band, he’d have to set up the stage himself and after the show tear down the stage as well. He said, not to knock the other band members, but there became a lot of other people to have to rely on rather than depending on himself above all else. He even said adding a singer to the band meant he had to depend on someone else for the success of the band. With wrestling, it is all down to him. “A part of me always loved the spotlight”, says Howe. “I always said I’d either do music or be a pro wrestler.”

On how he met his wife and OVW Knockout stand-out Jessie Belle: “Tracy Smothers is to blame”, says Howe. Jessie was playing Smothers’ illegitimate legitimate daughter at the time and Howe, who had not met her before, was amazed by what a bitch she was on the microphone. One thing lead to another, and with a little help they ended up getting together and are now married. Howe says she’s the “Social Media Queen” and to friend her on facebook and follow her on Twitter.

On being trained by Tracy Smothers: “I don’t want to say he’s underrated because he had great success. But, he’s just so good!” He talks about how Smothers didn’t just teach moves but also taught a complete package of moves and getting your character together. He does not have enough good things he can say about the experience of working with “The Wild Eyed Southern Boy”.

On WWE Tough Enough: “It was the biggest springboard I could possibly have”. He mentions that he was one of the least experienced talents brought in for the show and he thought it was challenging. When comparing that to other reality shows, he feels that Tough Enough was more physical & mentally demanding. He also says that how it played off on TV is close to how the experience really was.

If he had to credit just one major influence from both wrestling and music, who would it be? “Music: Angus Young (AC/DC). Wrestling: Believe it or not, The Ultimate Warrior. I remember as a kid, he was the only one who came out to heavy metal music and had the hair. As I’ve gotten older, I certainly appreciate the work of Randy Savage, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, and those kinds of guys.” Howe remembers for a very early Birthday having to choose between a “Macho King” Randy Savage or an Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Buddy (the stuffed wrestlers). He chose Warrior. But, he feels it was even because not long after he got a “Macho King” bop it punching bag that bounces back at you.

On if the doors are open at WWE and TNA still: “I believe the doors are wide open for me at WWE and TNA. I am at TNA’s training facility in OVW.” He says he believes he handled himself well at Tough Enough and here would be no reason to have a closed door at WWE. He goes on to say that he works a lot of independent shows and to be sure and hit him up on Facebook and Twitter to keep up on upcoming shows.

@August1Warning Responds To TNA Website Speculation About Adam Pearce

With just 3 days to go until Thursday’s Impact Wrestling and the big reveal of who is behind the #August1Warning social media campaign, ImpactWrestling.com has provided an update on who the mystery man could be.

The site published a Tweet from former WWE Superstar Bob Holly, who appeared on the most recent TNA One Night Only PPV. Holly was asked if he’s the culprit, but replied:

https://twitter.com/TheBobHolly/status/361510435050110977

As reported over the weekend, former TNA Gut Check contestant Adam Pearce tweeted, “By the way, how many days til #August1?”

TNA acknowledging Pierce’s tweet could be a red herring, or it could be a sign that he is the person that “has a problem which needs to be solved.” In response to the TNA website article speculating if Adam Pearce is in fact the mystery man, the official Twitter account of @August1Warning tweeted on Monday:

Kurt Angle Comments On “#August1Warning,” Shannon Moore Rants About TNA’s Future

-Former TNA Impact Wrestling star Shannon Moore recently posted a rant on Twitter regarding TNA’s future following several recent roster cuts, and the fact that so many established stars are sitting home right now, as opposed to being utilized by a top wrestling promotion.

Below is Moore’s rant from Twitter (multiple tweets combined):

People ask me my thoughts on TNA. I don’t know what the game plan is but would hate to see a company come to a cross roads. However I feel it’s time to capitalize on the house hold names that are sitting home right now. Carlito, Morrison, Helms, Masters, etc. These guys are hard workers that have name value that people still want to see. Sometimes the mixture of home grown and household names is a good thing. Just my opinion but so much talent that have a following should be put to use by someone. It’s a waste and this day and age it’s hard to build new talent unless you have the following already paying attention to your product!! That’s my thoughts but its not my answer at the end of the day that will help. Hopefully the game plan will pan out.

-TNA Impact Wrestling star Kurt Angle is the latest to take to Twitter to address the “#August1Warning” mystery-man angle. Angle tweeted the following:

-A fan recently commented to former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho on Twitter his opinion on what would improve the quality of WWE’s new reality show, “Total Divas.” The fan noted, “Total Divas would be so much better with Chris Jericho.” Jericho, who is apparently not the biggest fan of Total Divas, jokingly responded by saying, “Haha, I told them to edit me out!”

“#August1Warning” Backstage News On Who The Mystery Man Is

There has been a lot of discussion as to who the mystery man behind the “#August1Warning” video is since the clip first appeared on the official TNA YouTube channel. Several TNA stars have commented on the clip, and fans have been guessing who’s behind the video since Friday.

Apparently one of the leading candidates is former TNA X-Division Champion Low Ki. According to one source, however, the former “Senshi” is absolutely not the voice behind the mysterious video clip.

Another top guess is former NWA Champion Adam Pearce. Pearce has been making references to August 1st on his official Twitter account since the video first premiered. While it could be a coincidence that Pearce is simply feeding into, it’s certainly possible he could be the guy as his TNA Gutcheck played out in a way that would leave the door open for an organic return to TNA storylines.

Another top choice is Jeff Jarrett. Apparently the only active TNA wrestler following the “#August1Warning” mystery man is the co-founder of TNA Impact Wrestling himself.

Other guesses, for those interested, include Hardcore Holly and John Morrison.

This Friday, on TNA Impact Wrestling, the guessing will cease, and the man will reveal himself. Until then, TNA promises to reveal a clue if the initial “#August1Warning” video reaches 250,000 views on their official YouTube channel.

Taeler Hendrix Says Dixie Carter Told Her She Was Too “Heavy” To Appear On TNA Television

Taeler Hendrix alleged in an interview over the weekend that TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter felt she was too “heavy” to be on television.

Carter’s reaction was in response to Hendrix’s match against Mickie James on the June 6 episode of Impact Wrestling—her final bout for the organization.

“I do have my qualms. Don’t tell me on my birthday that I’m “heavy” to be on TV,” Hendrix said about Carter on The Greg DeMarco Show. “I’m a size three, that’s not fat at all! I’m a role model for young girls, there’s nothing plastic about me.”

Compared to her figure the year prior, Hendrix felt she was “too skinny,” noting that she “got really skinny just to get on television.” She continued, “Someone said I looked like a skeleton, and then I started looking at my pictures and I was like “Oh my God, I really do!” I’m taller than [most female wrestlers] but I’m not bigger than them.”

Hendrix also revealed that she put on weight following a recent cancer scare.

“On top of that, my cancer stuff came back. I had no choice to gain weight, and I’m really happy that I did,” said Hendrix. “What I’m battling right now is cervical cancer—and when I say battling I mean I’m trying to not get it. I wasn”t setting a good example. I felt like I was a hypocrite. I would rather be healthy and stay cancer free.”

Hendrix also addressed her departure from TNA Wrestling, the mood in Ohio Valley Wrestling, Velvet Sky and other topics. Additional highlights from the interview are as follows:

Her departure from TNA Wrestling: “It was kind of a whirlwind … a long time in the making … I was super-duper unhappy … the All-American Dream … BAM! Hit in the face! It’s not happening girl, wake up! I got papers in the mail to re-sign for another year in developmental at OVW for TNA … Before I could tell them that I wouldn’t re-sign, I got the call the day before my contract expired to tell me I was released. … Maybe they can use that spot for someone they actually know what they want to do with. … I’m not offended—I’m a lot happier.”

Whether the mood in Ohio Valley Wrestling has changed since the recent TNA releases: “Yes, actually. Now that I’m not signed anymore, I think I’m enjoying it more—from an OVW standpoint. … It’s home… There’s wrestling every single week, you can’t get more work than that. … I am loving my character right now, she’s awesome. … She’s like that girl we all hated in high school. … A lot of people who were released, they’re gone.”

Velvet Sky: “She has found a way to stick it out … and she was released at one point. … Velvet Sky is money. … And if I have someone who makes me money, I’m going to keep them around. … She’s not the best wrestler in the world, but neither am I. … She makes money. … Velvet Sky has some of the most loyal fans in the world. … She has a great personality, in ring and out. … And you know what? She’s gotten much better. … I’m a fan—she can keep letting the pigeons loose. … That girl’s a hot commodity.”

Hendrix also discusses the online reaction to her release, her upcoming appearances for Shine Wrestling, how she keeps finding family in wrestling, her goals outside of the professional wrestling industry and more. To listen to the interview, click here.

WWE/TNA Stars Work Together On Comic Book, Jericho Predicts Bryan Title Win

-Former WWE Diva Beth Phoenix, current TNA Impact Wrestling star Mr. Anderson, as well as WWE Hall Of Famer and current weekly RAW color-commentator Jerry “The King” Lawler are all involved in a Kickstarter campaign to fund a new comic book project titled, “Headlocked: The Last Territory.”

The official Kickstarter page for the project lists the following synopsis:

What is Headlocked?

In one sentence, it’s a wrestling cable drama in a comic book!

Headlocked is a coming-of-age story chronicling a college theater major’s quest to become a professional wrestler. It begins from the moment he unexpectedly falls in love with wrestling and follows his journey through the insanity of the wrestling business as he chases his dream of making it to the bright lights and the big stage of the WFW.

On a deeper level, Headlocked is an examination of wrestling as an art form. Our main character, Mike Hartmann, is a college theater major that drops out of school to try and break into the wrestling business. So the reader will learn more about the craft of wrestling through the eyes of a performance artist.

To further our theme of wrestling as art, we use wrestlers to contribute to the book artistically. Our interior artist, Michel Mulipola, is a wrestler from New Zealand. And our cover artist, you might have heard of him….

WWE Hall of Famer, Jerry “The King” Lawler!

If you read further, you’ll see we have a metric ton of awesome guest contributors from the world of comics and wrestling lined up to help make this even better!

Check out the official Kickstarter page for more information on the comic book and to donate to the project.

-A fan recently asked former WWE Superstar Chris Jericho for his thoughts on the current number one contender to the WWE Championship, Daniel Bryan, on his official Twitter page (@IAmJericho). Jericho’s response was simple, but encouraging. “Amazing,” exclaimed Jericho. “Next WWE champ.”

The individual in question could be “Scrap Iron” Adam Pearce, who competed in a “Gut Check” match in April—he won the bout but was not signed to a contract. A few hours after the video was posted, the acclaimed independent wrestler hinted through Twitter at something occurring on August 1.

“By the way, how many days til #August1?” he wrote.

– At Friday’s TNA live event in Columbus, Ohio, Mr. Anderson picked up 7 points in the Bound For Glory Series by defeating AJ Styles in a singles match. This brings the two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion’s point total to 21 and ties him with Christopher Daniels for fourth place.

ShopTNA.com has released a Knockouts “Picture Book.”
