Impact Wrestling has unveiled the announce team for Knockouts Knockdown.

The special all-women’s event is scheduled to take place on Oct. 9. This will be the first time the event will be held since 2017. It used to run annually beginning in 2013.

Gail Kim made the announcement that the event is making a comeback. The show will feature the likes of Impact Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, Mercedes Martinez, Lady Frost, Renee Michelle, and more.

Now, Impact has revealed the announce team.

“BREAKING: Here is your Knockouts Knockdown announce team!

Color Analyst:

In addition to the announce team and the wrestlers revealed for the show, there will also be a Monster’s Ball match in honor of the late Daffney. Here’s what Impact had to say about the memorial match.

“Knockouts Knockdown will feature the Daffney Memorial Monster’s Ball match – a tribute to Daffney, who competed in the first Knockouts Monster’s Ball alongside Taylor Wilde in 2009.”

Keep it locked on SEScoops.com as more details of the Impact Knockouts Knockdown event become available. We’ll be sure to keep you posted on additions to the show as well as any potential changes.

Impact Reveals Knockouts Knockdown, Will Hold Daffney Memorial Match

Impact Wrestling has revealed the return of Knockouts Knockdown.

This will be a special event set for Oct. 9. A pioneer of Impact Wrestling Knockouts, Gail Kim, made the announcement.

“BREAKING: As revealed by Gail Kim, the all Knockouts event Knockouts Knockdown will return on October 9th.”

Impact has nabbed the services of Mercedes Martinez for the event. Martinez was recently released from WWE. She was a part of a slew of NXT roster cuts.

Also part of the special event will be a Daffney memorial Monster’s Ball match. Daffney passed away on Sept. 1.

“Knockouts Knockdown will feature the Daffney Memorial Monster’s Ball match – a tribute to Daffney, who competed in the first Knockouts Monster’s Ball alongside Taylor Wilde in 2009.”

Daffney competed in Impact when the promotion was known as TNA Wrestling. She worked with the company dating back to her early appearances in 2002.

Also set for the show will be Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo. She’ll be putting her gold on the line against a mystery opponent.

Fans will also get to see Lady Frost and Renee Michelle.

Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts Knockdown began in 2013 as an annual event. The shows ran through 2017.

Deonna Purrazzo Says She Considered Quitting Wrestling After NXT Run

Deonna Purrazzo had such a bad experience during her run with WWE that the former NXT star had seriously considered quitting the wrestling business altogether after being released from the promotion. The Impact Knockouts champion recently appeared on Oral Sessions with Renee Paquette. She talked about her wrestling career in detail including her time in NXT.

Opening up about how she felt upon her release from the promotion, Purrazzo said that she was emotionally drained. She revealed that she had started thinking about quitting the business to lead a normal life:

“I was just kind of emotionally drained from wrestling, that environment and that system just really didn’t work for me as a person. I was just very much, ‘this is such b******t! This is not what I love about wrestling.

When I was fired, I had contemplated going back to school a whole bunch.” said Deonna Purrazzo, “and I was like, ‘okay, I’m definitely going to go back to school.’ So I immediately sent in applications to different schools that were online, and I was like, ‘maybe I’ll just be a normal person again.’”

What Deonna Purrazzo Would Have Done After Quitting

The Impact wrestling star also talked about what she was planning for herself after her release. According to her, she had contemplated becoming a full-time teacher:

“I am really, just a big history buff. So when I was released in May, that was the first thing. ‘I’m going to go to school and I’m going to be a history teacher maybe!’”

Deonna Purrazzo was released from her WWE contract in April 2020, after wrestling only 16 televised matches in her two-year-long stint. The female star thankfully didn’t quit wrestling and she has since returned to Impact where she is in her second reign as the Impact Knockouts champion.

Free Agency Updates On Bray Wyatt & Braun Strowman

Former Universal Champion Braun Strowman was released from WWE on June 2nd, 2021. He’s now free to sign with other promotions. Former Universal and WWE Champion Bray Wyatt was released from WWE on July 31st, 2021. Assuming he is under a 90-day no-compete clause, he’ll be free to sign with another promotion at the end of October.

Both Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt’s free agency status was addressed recently in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It appears both Wyatt and Strowman could end up in Impact Wrestling but Wyatt could also end up signing with AEW.

“Regarding newcomers (to Impact), Adam Scherr, the former Braun Strowman, is in talks but has not signed but they are in talks with him,” wrote Dave Meltzer about Strowman’s negotiations with Impact. Strowman has also been announced for EC3’s “Free the Narrative 2” PPV on October 1st.

Bray Wyatt’s Future

As for Wyatt, it is thought he’ll either end up in Impact or AEW.

“As far as Windham Rotunda, the former Bray Wyatt, it appears it’ll be (Impact) or AEW,” Meltzer continued.

“If it is AEW, the talk is that it would be on the 9/29 Dynamite in Rochester, NY, which is Brodie Lee’s home city. If not there or soon after, it would likely be here.”

Impact Results (9/9): More Bullet Club Members Walk Through Forbidden Door

Impact Wrestling on September 9th featured the continued build to Victory Road and another Bullet Club member walking through the forbidden door. Much of this show also involved Christian Cage and Ace Austin putting together teams for a big multi-person tag match next week.

Impact 9/9 Quick Results:

  1. Rosemary defeated Tasha Steelz
  2. Bunkhouse Brawl
    Karl Anderson defeated Rich Swann
  3. David Finlay defeated Chris Bey
  4. Steve Maclin defeated Petey Williams
  5. Moose defeated Eddie Edwards

Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans Steal KO Tag Title Belts

Decay’s Rosemary picked up a win in the night’s opening contest against Tasha Steelz. Things seemed even between the two but then Rosemary caught Steelz coming out of the corner with a spear and picked up the win.

As Decay was celebrating, Savannah Evans hit the ring and distracted Rosemary and Havok. This allowed Steelz to grab the Knockouts tag title belts as Evans attacked Decay. Steelz and Evans hurried away with the title belts with Decay in pursuit to end the segment.

Karl Anderson Needs Doc Gallows’ Help To Beat Rich Swann

Rich Swann was without his tag partner Willie Mack at ringside this week, and that was the difference here. Mack is on the shelf with an injury after The Good Brothers put him through a table recently. This meant that Swann had nobody in his corner for this Bunkhouse brawl against Karl Anderson. It would be the numbers advantage that would allow Anderson to pick up the win.

The finish of the match saw Swann go to the top rope, possibly to go for his Phoenix Splash while Anderson was on top of a table. Gallows got involved, however, and grabbed Swann’s leg. This allowed Anderson to recover and deliver a top rope Gun Stun to Swann onto a table (that didn’t break) for the win.

Bullet Club’s HIKULEO Walks Through The Forbidden Door

David Finlay picked up a measure of revenge on Bullet Club this week. He scored a pin on Chris Bey moments after Juice Robinson thwarted Bey’s attempt to use the ropes for leverage on a pin attempt of his own. The real action came after the match, however.

As FinJuice was celebrating their win, Bullet Club’s HIKULEO hit the ring and attacked. Bey and HIKULEO wrapped Juice’s injured knee in a chair and stomped on it. Bullet Club then celebrated in the ring to end the segment.

Gambling Scandal Costs Petey Williams Match Against Steve Maclin

Sadly, an underground gambling operation backstage in Impact has reared its ugly head. Backstage this week in Swinger’s Casino, TJP placed a bet on Steve Maclin in his match this week against Petey Williams. Then during the match, TJP led a conga line with Fallah Bah and No Way to the ring just as Williams was going for the Canadian Destroyer. This distracted Williams and allowed Maclin to hit his finisher for the win.

Moose Defeats Eddie Edwards With Help From W. Morrissey

Moose and W. Morrissey have aligned in Impact and have targeted Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan. Edwards could have used Callihan’s help in this match as Morrissey’s interference on the outside allowed Moose to gain the advantage. He eventually put Edwards away with a spear. A melee after the match would eventually force Callihan to come to Edwards’ rescue, however.

Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan’s Uneasy Alliance

After the match, a huge melee took place featuring the wrestlers scheduled for the 10-man tag match on next week’s show. Chris Sabin came out to make the save but was thwarted by Brian Myers and his “professionals.” Josh Alexander then came out to fight them off but he was then attacked by Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. Christian Cage then came out to take on Fulton and Austin. Edwards came in to help Cage with the numbers advantage but then Moose and Morrissey rejoined the fight and attacked him. This led to Alisha Edwards coming out with a kendo stick to try and help but was not overly effective at this. Morrissey was ready to pick her up for a choke slam when the lights went out. When the lights came back on, Sami Callihan was in the ring with two baseball bats. He gave one to Edwards and the two of them fought off the heels. Cage then played peace-broker between the two longtime rivals turned uneasy partners as the show came to a close.

Coming Up In Impact Wrestling

Much of this week’s episode featured Ace Austin and Christian Cage recruiting team members for a big multi-person tag match next week.

Tommy Dreamer vs Ace Austin headlined this week’s Impact Wrestling. The stipulation was that if Dreamer could defeat Austin, he’d be added to the world title match against Christian Cage at Victory Road.

Finally, the heels would not have the numbers advantage against her here. Wilde got a measure of revenge against the Instagram-savvy trio this week, pinning Kaleb after a tornado DDT and German suplex.

Don’t Cross The King and Queen, Drama King Matt & Deonna Purrazzo

Footage of Deonna Purrazzo from this weekend’s two NWA events was shown. The Virtuosa defeated Melina at Empowerrr and then attacked Mickie James at NWA 73. She spoke to Gia Miller along with Drama King Matt backstage this week and said that nobody should cross the King and Queen.

Decay Wins Tag Match, But Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans Get In Cheap Shot

Taurus and Crazzy Steve took on Fallah Bah and No Way this week. As No Way’s conga line was making its entrance, however, one member dressed up as a hamburger gave Rosemary a codebreaker. It turns out that hamburger was actually Tasha Steelz in disguise. Havok then chased Steelz but got caught by Savannah Evans on the stage area. Steelz and Evans were then chased away by Rosemary.

Meanwhile, Crazzy Steve picked up the win for Decay in the ring by delivering a top rope DDT to Fallah Bah.

Moose & W. Morrissey Align

Two of the biggest heels in Impact Wrestling, Moose and W. Morrissey, appear to have aligned. Morrissey was being interviewed in the back this week but Moose interrupted to say they share common enemies in Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan. Moose then came out later to call out Edwards. Morrissey then came out to give the heels the 2-on-1 advantage but Sami Callihan never came out to help Edwards.

Eric Young Is Doing Somthing To Rhino

After Rhino took the pin for his team in a recent tag-team title match, Eric Young feels that he must do something about a “sickness” that is within him. A vignette aired this week featuring Young saying he must cure Rhino. The video ends with Rhino being placed in darkness. It seems like a change could be coming to Rhino’s character soon.

Jake Crist Returns, Answers Josh Alexander’s Open Challenge

Former X-Division Champion Jake Crist returned to Impact Wrestling on this show. Josh Alexander’s Open Challenge was only open to former holders of the title, a requirement that Crist meets. Alexander picked up the win with Divine Intervention and then cut a promo after the match.

Chris Sabin Challenges Josh Alexander

As Alexander was being interviewed, another former X-division champion came out to challenge him. Chris Sabin came out and said if Alexander wants to be considered the greatest X-Division Champion of all time, then he’ll have to beat him. The match was later made official for Victory Road on September 18th.

Brian Myers Cuts Most Of His Recruits

Brian Myers cut all but two recruits for his crew of wrestlers who want to learn how to become just as “professional” as he is. Zicky Dice and Manny Lemons were the only ones to make the cut and will now seemingly be under Myers’ tutelage.

Rohit Raju Pins Chelsea Green In Tag Action

Chelsea Green and Matt Cardona teamed up to take on the team of Rohit Raju and Shera this week. After Shera refused to wrestle Green, Cardona hit him with Radio Silence. Raju then drove Cardona into the steel post, however, and then hit Green with a jumping knee and got the pin.

A New Soul Becomes Su Yung’s Minion

Last week, Brandi Lauren was attacked by Su Yung and the former Kimber Lee. This week, Lauren appeared in a creepy backstage vignette along with Yung and Lee. She was wearing the same makeup and appears to have been inducted into the group.

The Good Brothers Address Rich Swann and Willie Mack

After losing to Willie Mack and Rich Swann in a recent non-title match, the Good Brothers assaulted the team in a post-match beatdown. Willie Mack is now on the shelf with an injury after having been put through a table. Swann came out to confront the tag champs with a steel chair this week but was eventually subdued by security. Scott D’Amore late booked a bunkhouse brawl match between Swann and Karl Anderson for next week.

Ace Austin Defeats Tommy Dreamer in the Main Event

The stipulation here was that if Dreamer could beat Austin, he’d be added to the match at Victory Road with Christian Cage, making it a triple threat. Dreamer looked to have the match won with a cutter but Fulton put Austin’s leg under the rope to break up the pin. Dreamer then went to the outside to confront Fulton and drive him into a steel post. As Dreamer was getting back into the ring, however, Austin hit him with the Fold and picked up the win.

Coming Up In Impact Wrestling

Next Week:

  • Bunkhouse Brawl
    Karl Anderson vs Rich Swann
  • Moose vs Eddie Edwards
  • Chris Bey vs David Finlay

X-Division Title Match Added To Sept. 18 Victory Road Card

The Impact Victory Road card for Sept. 18 just got another title match.

On the Sept. 2 edition of Impact Wrestling, Josh Alexander put his X-Division Title on the line in an open challenge. Jake Crist ended up accepting the challenge. Alexander defeated Crist to retain his gold.

After the match, Alexander said he feels he has to be in the conversation for the greatest X-Division Champion of all time.

Alexander was interrupted by Chris Sabin, who knows a thing or two about carrying the X-Division Title.

Sabin showed his respect for Alexander. He went as far as to say Alexander is one of the best wrestlers he’s ever seen in the ring. With that said, Sabin let Alexander know that must beat him to be in that conversation as the greatest X-Division Champion of all time. Sabin laid down the challenge for Victory Road.

Alexander shook Sabin’s hand, signaling an acceptance of the challenge. Now, Impact has made the match official.

“BREAKING: Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division Championship against Chris Sabin at Victory Road on September 18th!”

Headlining Victory Road will be an Impact Wrestling World Title match. Champion Christian Cage will put his gold on the line against Ace Austin.

Impact Results (8/26): Christian Cage Returns, The Good Brothers vs Swann & Mack

Impact Wrestling on 8/26 featured the Good Brothers vs Willie Mack & Rich Swann in the main event, Mickie James was there to promote NWA Empowerrr this weekend, and Christian Cage returned to the Impact Zone.

Impact Wrestling 8/26 Quick Results:

  2. Chris Bey defeated David Finlay
  3. The Influence (Tenille Dashwood, Madison Rayne, & Kaleb with a K) defeated Taylor Wilde
  4. Willie Mack & Rich Swann defeated The Good Brothers (Karl Anderson & Doc Gallows)

Chris Sabin Beats Sami Callihan

The opener this week saw two of the promotion’s top-ranked singles wrestlers and former world champions go one-on-one as Chris Sabin faced Sami Callihan. Sabin somehow found the strength to kick out after Callihan hit him with a curb stomp and piledriver. Shortly after, Callihan just barely got his shoulder up on a pin attempt. He probably shouldn’t have taken a moment to confirm with the referee that it was only a 2-count, however, as Sabin quickly hit his Cradle Shock finish for the win after.

After the match, Moose attacked and was about to inflict more damage on Callihan when Eddie Edwards made the save.

Deonna Purrazzo, Melina, & Mickie James Build To NWA Empowerrr

The Knockouts title will be on the line this weekend from St. Louis. Deonna Purrazzo will face Melina on the NWA Empowerrr show Saturday night. The Virtuosa and Mickie James came face to face this week, with James warning the champion not to underestimate Melina. She reminded Purrazzo that she will not have Drama King Matt’s help at Empowerrr like she did at Emergence. Purrazzo attacked James but Melina and Trey Miguel came out for the save.

Chris Bey Defeats David Finlay

David Finlay was likely wanting some revenge against Bullet Club here after dropping his match against Jay White at NJPW Resurgence recently. After a competitive and action-filled match, Bey rolled up Finlay and gained leverage by putting his feet on the ropes for the win.

Christian Cage Returns To The Impact Zone

Christian Cage returned to the Impact Zone this week. His next challenger for the title will be Ace Austin at Victory Road but Christian sounded quite confident that the former X-Division Champion doesn’t represent a significant threat to his title. Tommy Dreamer then came out and let Christian know that he wants to face him down the line but plans on earning his opportunity first. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton then came out and a melee ensued between the 4 men.

Later in the show, Scott D’Amore announced that next week Ace Austin will face Tommy Dreamer in singles action. If Dreamer wins, he’ll be added to the match at Victory Road.

Eric Young Blames Rhino For Loss At Emergence

Rhino took the pin at Emergence, costing his Violent By Design faction a chance to regain the Impact tag-team titles. Eric Young was not happy about this. A vignette aired this week featuring Young telling Rhino he needs to cleanse him in the holy waters of change.

Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering Come To Taylor Wilde’s Rescue

Taylor Wilde had a tough task this week. She faced all 3 members of The Influence, Madison Rayne, Tenille Dashwood and Kaleb (With a K) Konley. Although Wilde got in some offence, she was eventually hit with a Spotlight Kick and pinned. After the match, the 3 Instagram-savvy wrestlers kept up the attack on Wilde until former tag champs Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace made the save.

Su Yung & Kimber Lee Take Brandi Lauren’s Soul

Brandi Lauren was being interviewed in the back when things took a turn. The lighting changed and it became clear that Su Yung and the now somewhat demonic Kimber Lee were going to attack. Gia Miller exclaimed that they needed to get out of there but it was too late. Kimber gave Lauren the mandible claw and took her into a room with Yung to end the segment.

Willie Mack & Rich Swann Beat The Tag Champs

Willie Mack and Rich Swann have likely earned a future shot at the Impact tag team championships after defeating the champs in non-title action this week. After a competitive match, Swann countered Karl Anderson’s Gun Stun into a pinning combination and got the 3-count. The Good Brothers were not good sports about the loss. They attacked Swann and Mack after the match. They tossed Swann into the steel post and gave Mack a Magic Killer before power-bombing him through a table. The Good Brothers stood tall to end the show despite losing the main event.

Christian Cage & Ace Austin Meet Face-To-Face (Video)

Impact World Champion Christian Cage has gone face-to-face with Ace Austin and things got physical.

Cage will be making his second Impact World Title defense at Victory Road on Sept. 18. He’ll be putting the gold on the line against Ace Austin, who won a fatal four-way match at Emergence to earn his title opportunity.

On the Aug. 26 edition of Impact Wrestling, Cage and Austin exchanged words inside the ring. Austin confronted Cage and said the following.

“You are the world champion. Got a pretty busy schedule too, don’t you? AEW, Impact Wrestling and making all the towns. Just like the old days, huh? But after Victory Road, your schedule’s gonna be a whole lot lighter, your bag is gonna be about 10 pounds lighter when you meet ‘The Inevitable.'”

Cage responded by getting under Austin’s skin with a dig at his height.

“Well Ace, ‘Mr. Inevitable,’ I’m glad you came out to introduce yourself, I really am. Now there’s no doubt about it you’re talented. You’re 24, you wanna be the youngest Impact champion in history. That’s great, set your goals high, kid. You might be the guy or think you’re the guy, but you’ll never be the man as long as I’m here. Now let me give you a little bit of advice, kid. Since you come out and talk such a big game. If you want these people to hang on your every word, make sure you stand on your tippy-toes so they can see your face over the top rope.”

This led to both men brawling with Cage getting the better of Austin.

Cage won the Impact World Title on the debut episode of AEW Rampage. He defeated Kenny Omega for the gold with a Killswitch on a chair, which Omega had intended to use but it backfired. Cage and Omega will meet again on Sept. 5 at All Out, this time for the AEW World Title.

Deonna Purrazzo Talks Getting Emotional Ahead of Triplemania Victory

There has been a lot written in the press recently about professional wrestling and tears. Wrestling unites people and when looked at objectively, is a very emotional event. You have heroes and villains, champions conquering the world and prodigal sons returning. This level of emotion is not just felt in the crowds, but by those performing in the ring. IMPACT Knockouts champion and new Reina de Reinas champion Deonna Purrazzo recently spoke about how she cried ahead of her Triplemania victory.

Talking during an interview on Busted Open Radio, Deonna Purrazzo didn’t hide the fact that she got so emotional ahead of her win.

“I cried, I cried before the match. I was just so worked up.”

Deonna Purrazzo

The wrestling life is not always easy, and it is not always kind. Deonna Purrazzo has not enjoyed an easy road to her current position. Despite being just 27 years old, Purrazzo has been pushed to the limit by her love of wrestling.

Deonna Purrazzo Appreciates Where She is by Understanding Where She has Been

After finding herself stagnating inside of WWE, Purrazzo made her way onto an IMPACT stage. From there she has moved from strength to strength and is growing in both character and confidence every week.

“Like I love wrestling, I love wrestling so much. And it means so much to me to be put in these positions and for people to trust me in these positions and to get to do these cool life things. I wanted to do this my whole life. Especially more now I’m so appreciative of these opportunities because I came from a place where I wasn’t getting those opportunities and didn’t know if I wanted to wrestle anymore.” Deonna Purrazzo explained. “And the last two years of my life, I’ve just really embraced the opportunities and the gratefulness to get them. I always like to go out and just sit in the crowd when there’s no one, and just look around, look at the ring. I was crying all day because I was just like ‘oh shoot, this is so frickin’ cool.’”

Right now, Deonna Purrazzo is a two-promotion champion, and has spoken of her interest in forming a forbidden door tag team with Britt Baker. She is also part of the upcoming NWA Empowerrr PPV. It’s safe to say she’s come a long way in recent years and has not yet even reached her prime.

Anthem CEO Teases New Distribution Deal For Impact Wrestling

CEO of Anthem Sports and Entertainment (Impact’s parent company), Len Asper, recently noted online that a new distribution deal for Impact Wrestling is coming soon. Impact currently airs on AXS TV, which is also owned by Anthem Sports and Entertainment. In many regions outside the United States, Impact airs on the Fight Network, another Anthem-owned company.

“Hey y’all I am here. Was busy trying to keep up with Impact Wrestling launching so many new channel streams and products! Getting pumped things thank you for watching in insanely increasing numbers! Big new distribution deal coming soon!”

Recently, Impact launched a new subscription service on YouTube. Subscribers to Impact Wrestling Insiders can watch Impact’s weekly program commercial-free on YouTube beginning at 830 PM on Thursday evenings. The level-one tier subscription costs only 99 cents per month. The show no longer airs on Twitch.

With names like Christian Cage, Kenny Omega, and Jay White appearing on the show in recent weeks, Asper sounds thrilled with the show’s “increasing numbers” across the various platforms it airs on.

Why Asper decided to make this announcement in response to a Tweet about the Steve Maclin vs Petey Williams match at Emergence is unclear. Maclin won the match on the show, however.

The Good Brothers vs Willie Mack & Rich Swann is being advertised for this week’s show.

Christian Cage vs. Ace Austin Set For Victory Road

Christian Cage has his next Impact Wrestling World Title match set.

Cage and Ace Austin competed in separate matches on the Impact Emergence card. Cage was in the main event defending his title against Brian Myers, who earned his opportunity by winning a battle royale. Cage ended up defeating Myers to maintain his gold on the gold.

Austin competed in a fatal four-way match against Sami Callihan, Moose, and Chris Sabin. Austin won the match and will now meet Cage for the Impact Wrestling World Title on Sept. 18 at Victory Road.

Cage captured the Impact Wrestling World Title on the debut episode of AEW Rampage. He defeated Kenny Omega with a Killswitch on a seated chair for the three-count. The victory over Myers is Cage’s first successful title defense.

On the go-home edition of Impact Wrestling, Cage retired the TNA World Championship. Cage said he did so because he wanted to put the focus on the future of the wrestling industry instead of the past.

This won’t be the first time Austin competes for the Impact Wrestling World Title. He challenged for the gold in a five-way elimination bout at Slammiversary back in 2020. Austin lost that match.

Impact Results (8/19): Christian Cage Returns To The Impact Zone

Impact Wrestling on 8/19 was the go-home show for Emergence, which takes place tonight. The show also featured Christian Cage retiring the TNA World Heavyweight Championship and Joe Doering facing Doc Gallows in the main event.

Impact 8/19 Quick Results:

  1. Sami Callihan & Chris Sabin defeated Moose & Ace Austin
  2. Matt Cardona w/ Chelsea Green defeated Shera w/ Rohit Raju
  3. Melina defeated Brandi Lauren
  4. No Disqualification
Jake Something defeated Kaleb with a K
  5. Joe Doering defeated Doc Gallows

Sami Callihan Is Ready For Emergence

Former Impact World Champion Sami Callihan was all over the early parts of the show. He came to the aide of his long-time rival Eddie Edwards as the show kicked off with Edwards and his newer rival, W. Morrissey brawled around ringside. Then Callihan teamed with Chris Sabin in the night’s opening contest against Moose and Ace Austin. This match is a preview of the fatal 4-way at Emergence between these 4 wrestlers. The winner of the match will face the winner of Christian Cage vs Brian Myers.

Sabin ended up getting the win for his team after blind-tagging himself in while Callihan was taunting Austin. After the match, Callihan then gave Sabin a piledriver since they will be opponents at Emergence.

Later, Edwards would tell Sami Callihan in the back that he doesn’t want his help.

Matt Cardona Defeats Shera With Help From Chelsea Green

Last week on Impact, Rohit Raju’s distraction caused Matt Cardona to be pinned by John Skyler. This week, Cardona got back in the win column by defeating Shera. Raju tried to get involved on the outside but Chelsea Green thwarted these attempts, allowing Cardona to hit Radio Silence for the win.

Later in the show, it was revealed that Cardona will face Raju tonight at Emergence.

Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood are “The Influence”

After aligning last week against Taylor Wilde, Madison Rayne and Tenille Dashwood both had each other as guests on their respective talk shows this week. Madison Rayne’s return means that her Locker Room Talk segment was also brought back. Dashwood was her guest which worked out conveniently because on Dashwood’s “All About Me” talking segment, her guests actually ask her questions as opposed to the other way around. This allowed them to each be the other one’s guest on their own talking segment. The two announced that they are now aligned and using the name “The Influence” for their team.

Christian Cage Returns To The Impact Zone

Christian Cage returned to the Impact Zone this week as the new Impact World Champion. He talked about his history in the promotion and then mentioned that he’d been talking to Scott D’Amore about retiring the TNA World Championship belt. The belt was officially retired and the Impact World Championship declared the top prize in the company.

Cage’s Emergence opponent, Brian Myers, came out to confront the champion. The two came face to face for a moment before Myers pushed his protege, Sam Beale, into Cage. Cage took out Beale but Myers escaped to the outside.

Melina Makes Her Impact Wrestling In-Ring Debut

Melina picked up a win in her Impact in-ring debut. She defeated the former Ava Storie, Brandi Lauren in singles action this week. Lauren wrestled with Impact for a good chunk of 2017 as well. Melina was able to make Lauren submit to the California Dream hold for the win. After the match, however, Melina’s opponent on the NWA Empowerrr PPV, Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo, attacked her from behind.

Drama King Matt came out to help his Homecoming Queen partner. This brought out Trey Miguel to help make the save for Melina, whom he’d run into backstage earlier in the night. Later, a match for Emergence pitting Purrazzo and Drama King against Melina and Miguel was scheduled.

Juice Robinson Was Attacked Backstage

We were shown video of Juice Robinson laying on the ground after having been attacked. It’s not clear who took him out.

Jake Something Defeats Kaleb En Route To X-Division Title Shot

Jake Something wanted a match tonight to get ready for his X-Division Championship match at Emergence. Kaleb with a K happened to be issuing several complaints to Scott D’Amore just as Something was requesting a match, leading him to be chosen as Jake’s opponent. Something would pick up the win after driving Kaleb through a table. After the match, Something and Josh Alexander would have a stare-down as they get ready for their title match at Emergence.

Joe Doering Defeats Doc Gallows In The Main Event

The main event this week pitted Violent By Design’s Joe Doering against the Elite’s Doc Gallows. These two big hosses ended up on the stage area and Gallows hit a sky-high powerbomb on Doering that sent them both crashing through the stage. It looked like the match was over but both big men got up and ended up back in the ring. That’s where Doering hit Gallows with a big lariat and was just able to drap his arm over him to get the pin. If that happens at Emergence, we’ll have new Impact tag team champions.

Lineup For Impact Emergence

  1. Impact World Championship
Christian Cage (c) vs. Brian Myers
  2. Impact World Tag Team Championships
The Good Brothers (c) vs. Violent By Design vs. Rich Swann and Willie Mack
  3. X-Division Championship
Josh Alexander (c) vs. Jake Something
  4. #1 Contenders Match
Chris Sabin vs. Sami Callihan vs. Moose vs. Ace Austin

Deonna Purrazzo Would Love to Team With Dr Britt Baker

With the Forbidden Door now open, the wrestling landscape is full of potential dream matches. We have already seen a few, shared between companies like AEW, NJOW and IMPACT. One other benefit of the forbidden door is the possible pairings we could see forming. This idea was recently discussed by IMPACT Knockouts champion Deonna Purrazzo.

Talking on Busted Open Radio Deonna Purrazzo spoke about the female wrestler she would love to form a team with. She was referring to none other than AEW’s own, Dr Britt Baker D.M.D.

“That’s a dream for Britt and I more so than it probably was for anyone else to begin with. We’ve kind of pushed this narrative that we want to wrestle each other. Whether it happens or not, I’m just happy to see the people I love succeed and the people who deserve to succeed, succeeding. I love everything she’s doing. I love the confidence she has. She’s the baddest bitch on the block, for real. Whether I get to wrestle her or not, that’s a dream come true, but it’s also hard. I’m the Knockouts Champion and now the Reina de Reinas Champion and she’s the AEW Women’s Champion. So, what’s the outcome? I’d rather us be a tag team and no one has to lose their belts. Then, IMPACT will let us be the Knockouts Tag Team Champions, maybe.” Deonna Purrazzo mused.

Deonna Purrazzo Is a Woman on the Rise These Days

While Britt Baker has certainly risen to the challenge offered by AEW, Deonna Purrazzo has equalled her over in IMPACT. Not only is she the Knockouts Champion but recently captured the Reina de Reinas belt at AAA Triplemania.

She is a woman who is fast improving in the ring, and at only 27 years old, she has plenty of time left to mature and become the talent everybody can see she will be.

Much has been said about female use of the Forbidden Door, or rather, the lack of it. The idea of having a tag-team of Deonna Purrazzo and Britt Baker chasing down the IMPACT title belts is mouth-watering. With wrestling being wrestling, that would also mean, at some point down the road, there would be a heel/face turn for one of them, that would set them on course for a 1v1 showdown.

Four Matches Added To Impact Emergence

The Impact Emergence card has been finalized.

Tomorrow night (Aug. 20), Emergence will air on Impact Plus. In the main event, Christian Cage will defend the Impact Wrestling World Championship against Brian Myers. Also set for the card will be an X-Division Title clash between champion Josh Alexander and Jake Something. The Impact World Tag Team Titles will also be on the line as Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson meet Violent By Design, and the team of Rich Swann and Willie Mack.

We now have four more matches to round out the event. On the go-home show for Emergence, it was announced that Decay will collide with Tasha Steelz, Savannah Evans, Fallah Bahh & No Way. Another newly announced matchup is Deonna Purrazzo and Matthew Rehwoldt vs. Melina and Trey Miguel.

Christian Cage Appears On Impact Wrestling, Retires TNA World Title

Christian Cage and Impact Wrestling have said goodbye to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Cage captured the Impact and TNA World Titles when he defeated Kenny Omega on the debut edition of AEW Rampage. While Cage is looking to start his own belt collection, the TNA World Championship will not be a part of it any longer.

Christian Cage made his return to Impact for the first time since 2008. During a promo, Cage revealed that he and Impact officials have decided to put the TNA World Title to rest so that the Impact World Championship can thrive as the lone top prize of the company.

“Sitting here talking about my history with Impact Wrestling, it’s got me thinking this isn’t really about my history anymore. Maybe it’s time. I had some conversations with Scott D’Amore and other Impact executives and we all agree, as much as this TNA Championship means maybe it’s time to set this aside. To respectfully retire this championship because this isn’t about my history anymore, this isn’t about the past. This is about the here and now, this is about the future.”

Cage is set for his first Impact World Title defense tomorrow night (Aug. 20). He’ll put the championship on the line against Brian Myers at Emergence. Myers won a battle royale match in order to earn the title opportunity.

The TNA World Title had been revived in a sense back in April 2020. Moose brought the title out with him and proclaimed himself to be the true world champion of Impact Wrestling. Rich Swann defeated Moose in a title unification match. Kenny Omega then beat Rich Swann for the Impact gold and continued to carry both titles.

Zicky Dice Signs Multi-Year Deal With Impact Wrestling

Free Agent Zicky Dice has signed a multi-year deal with Impact Wrestling. Fightful Select was the first to report that Dice is now under contract with Impact.

“Fightful has confirmed that former NWA TV Champion Zicky Dice has signed a multi-year deal with IMPACT Wrestling. He appeared on this week’s set of tapings in a tag team match and will initially be a part of the Brian Myers-Sam Beale group,” said Fightful Select.

More Info on Zicky Dice

Dice has wrestled for promotions like All Elite Wrestling, Major League Wrestling, and the National Wrestling Alliance. He also was signed to NWA and was the former NWA TV champion. However, Dice had been looking to test free agency this year. In the report, it said, “Dice elected to leave NWA after initially asking for his release last summer, but allowed his contract to expire at the end of 2020.”

His last major appearance for a wrestling promotion was MLW’s Battle Riot III on July 10th at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He competed in a 40 man battle royal but was Dice eliminated from the match. While Dice is under contract with Impact, it’s unclear if he can still compete outside the company.

Dixie Carter Speaks On Christian Cage Winning Impact World Title

Christian Cage is the new Impact Wrestling World Champion and Dixie Carter has responded.

Cage challenged Kenny Omega for the gold this past Friday night (Aug. 13). The title match opened up the debut episode of AEW Rampage inside the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Cage turned the tables on Omega, who attempted to hit him with One-Winged Angel on a chair. Cage ended up nailing Omega with the Killswitch on a chair for the three-count.

After the match, former TNA Wrestling President Dixie Carter took to her Twitter account to praise Christian Cage.

“This makes me very happy. I will never forget how special it was when Christian
first became [a world champion for TNA]. I always hated losing him to WWE. Welcome home Christian & massive props to AEW for allowing these type of matches to happen.”

Christian Cage never captured the TNA Wrestling Title during his first run with the promotion. He was a two-time NWA World Champion and was the last NWA World titleholder of the NWA-TNA era. He ended up leaving TNA in 2008 to return to WWE.

Cage is set to return to the Impact Zone on Aug. 19. He’s already got his first title challenger set and time will tell when that match will come to fruition. The number one contender is Brian Myers, who recently won a battle royale match to earn the title opportunity.

Cage is due for another match with Omega on Sept. 5. The match will take place at the All Out PPV and it’ll be contested for Omega’s AEW World Championship.

Impact Results (8/12): Bullet Club vs FinJuice, Brian Myers & More

Impact Wrestling on 8/12 featured a battle royal to determine a new #1 contender for the Impact World Championship. It also saw the return of Madison Rayne and FinJuice taking on Bullet Club in tag action.

Impact 8/12 Quick Results:

  1. Tenille Dashwood defeated Taylor Wilde
  2. Josh Alexander defeated Shawn Daivari
  3. FinJuice defeated Jay White & Chris Bey via DQ
  4. John Skyler defeated Matt Cardona
  5. #1 Contender Battle Royal
    Winner: Brian Myers

Madison Rayne Returns, Helps Tenille Dashwood Beat Taylor Wilde

This week’s Impact kicked off with Tenille Dashwood taking on Taylor Wilde. Their rivalry stems from Dashwood allegedly calling border patrol agents to prevent Wilde from entering the United States to attend Impact’s shows for a couple of months. After Kaleb sprayed the referee in the eyes with hair spray, Madison Rayne ran in and threw Wilde into the ring post. Dashwood then finished her opponent off with the spotlight kick for the win. Rayne and Dashwood then celebrated together to end the segment.

Josh Alexander defeated Shawn Daivari Ahead Of Title Defence Against Jake Something

At Emergence on August 20th, Josh Alexander will defend his X-Division Championship against Jake Something. This week, however, Alexander agreed to a non-title match against Shawn Daivari and if Daivari can beat the champ, he’d earn a future title shot. Midway through the match, Jake Something appeared on the entrance ramp to get a better look. Alexander finished off Daivari with a double underhook piledriver and then the champ and Something had a bit of stare down.

Su Yung & Kimber Lee Abduct Kiera Hogan

Kiera Hogan came out this week to cut a promo on Tasha Steelz, who turned on her last week and ended their Fire N Flava team. While Hogan may have been cutting a promo on Steelz, it was Su Yung that came out to confront her. It was then Su Yung’s minion, the former Kimber Lee, who attacked Hogan and gave her the mandible claw. The two ghoulish wrestlers then dragged Hogan away.

Jay White & David Finlay Get Ready For NJPW Resurgence

At NJPW Resurgence this weekend, Jay White will defend the NEVER Openweight Championship against David Finlay. This week, Finlay’s FinJuice team took on White and the newest member of Bullet Club, Chris Bey. It looked as though FinJuice had the match won until White brought a chair into the ring and clocked Juice with it, leading to the DQ.

White and Finlay brawled after the match, with White throwing the chair right in Finlay’s face. White then delivered a Bladerunner to Finlay on the chair.

Christian Cage Is Coming Back To Impact Wrestling

AEW’s Christian Cage was interviewed by Alex Marvez this week. Cage talked about his history in Impact and how they gave him the opportunity to fight for world titles and improve as a wrestler. He promised to be in the Impact zone next week as the new Impact World Champion.

Rohit Raju Distraction Costs Matt Cardona Match Against John Skyler

A big upset took place this week on Impact when John Skyler pinned Matt Cardona. The finish of the mach was not without controversy, however, as Rohit Raju caused the distraction at ringside, allowing Skyler to hit a high-knee followed by a roll-up for the win. Cardona will no doubt blame Raju’s actions for the loss.

Brian Myers Wins Battle Royal To Earn Impact World Title Shot

Brian Myers will face whoever is the Impact World Champion at Impact Emergence on August 20th. That will either be Kenny Omega or Christian Cage depending on who comes away from the match on tonight’s Rampage with the belt.

This battle royal saw several rivalries continue or evolve, including Steve Maclin and Petey Williams, VOD & Willie Mack & Rich Swann, and Moose & Chris Sabin. The final 4 in the battle royal were Myers, Moose, Sabin and Sami Callihan. Moose eliminated Callihan and then locked up with his rival Chris Sabin. This allowed Myers to eliminate them both and win the match.

Coming Up In Impact Wrestling

Next week 8/19:

  • Christian Cage to appear
  • Melina vs. TBD
  • Doc Gallows vs Joe Doering

Emergence 8/20

  • Impact World Championship
Kenny Omega (c) or Christian Cage vs Brian Myers
  • Impact Tag Team Championships

  • X-Division Championship
Josh Alexander (c) vs Jake Something
  • Petey Williams vs Steve Maclin

Christian Cage Set To Return To Impact Wrestling

Christian Cage is set to return to the Impact Zone for the first time since 2008.

Cage will be challenging Impact World Champion Kenny Omega for the gold on the debut episode of AEW Rampage on Aug. 13. Cage threw the curveball at Omega during a recent episode of Dynamite. Cage will also be getting an AEW World Title shot at All Out on Sept. 5.

Alex Marvez recently interviewed Cage, who revealed he will be making his way back to the Impact Zone next week and he plans to do so as the company’s world champion.

“Listen, Kenny and I are gonna get to know each other really, really well over the next month or so. Kenny, he calls himself the belt collector, and for good reason. Obviously, he has a nice collection going. But I’ve made a decision that I’m gonna beat Kenny for all of those titles and it starts with the Impact World Championship tomorrow night on Rampage.

“But here’s the thing, next week I’ll be back in the Impact Zone for the first time in I don’t know how many years. And I feel like I owe it to Impact for all that it’s done for me in my career. You see Impact, my history there, it runs deep. It gave me the chance to main event. It gave me the chance to wrestle for world titles. I might not have gotten those opportunities anywhere else but Impact, they saw something in me and I stepped up and I became a better wrestler for it.”

During his time with Impact Wrestling, known as TNA Wrestling at the time, Christian Cage became a two-time NWA World Champion. Many credit Cage’s run in TNA as the reason for his ascent to the main event scene.

Do you think Christian Cage will take the Impact World Title from Kenny Omega?

Impact Results (8/5): Melina To Face Purrazzo, Elite vs Impact Trios

Impact Wrestling 8/5 featured Kenny Omega and the Good Brothers facing Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan, and Kazarian in the main event. It also featured Mickie James unveiling Melina as Deonna Purrazzo’s opponent at NWA Empowerrr.

Impact Results 8/5:

  1. Chris Bey defeated Juice Robinson
  2. X-Division #1 Contendership
Jake Something defeated Shawn Daivari vs Rohit Raju vs Trey Miguel
  3. Jordynne Grace & Rachael Ellering defeated Fire N Flava (Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz)
  4. Steve Maclin defeated Jah-C
  5. Eddie Edwards, Sami Callihan & Kazarian defeated The Elite (Kenny Omega, Karl Anderson, & Doc Gallows)

Chris Bey Beats Juice Robinson, Officially Joins Bullet Club

Chris Bey faced Juice Robinson this week on Impact. He’d pick up one of the biggest wins of his young career but it was in part thanks to some distraction from the outside. Jay White got up on the ring apron, prompting his NJPW Resurgence opponent David Finlay to yank him off the apron. As the two began brawling, it distracted Juice who was then left vulnerable to a springboard cutter from Bey for the win.

After the match, as Bey and White were celebrating on the ramp, White gave Bey a Bullet Club t-shirt, seemingly officially inducting him into the famed faction.

Mickie James Reveals Melina As Deonna Purrazzo’s Empowerrr Opponent

Highlights of Drama King Matt and Deonna Purazzo winning the Homecoming King and Queen tournament from over the weekend were shown. As the two were cutting a promo this week, they were interrupted by Mickie James. Purrazzo wasn’t sure why James was out to interrupt her yet again but Mickie stated that it was to introduce her opponent on the Empowerrr PPV later this month, Melina. The contract is signed and the match is made official for St. Louis at the Chase.

Su Yung Is Kimber Lee’s Mother?

We got a creepy little vignette featuring the former Kimber Lee and Susan. After enlisting the help of Father James Mitchell to bring back Su Yung, Kimber Lee appears to have been transformed into a disciple of hers now. This dark version of Kimber Lee promises to bring her “mother” Su Yung the souls she desires.

Jake Something Earns X-Division Championship Match

X-Division Champion Josh Alexander has defeated all challengers for his belt, even escaping the Ultimate X Match with his title recently. A new #1 contender for the belt was determined this week, however, when Jake Something won a fatal 4-way match against Rohit Raju, Shawn Daivari, and Trey Miguel.

After the match, Daivari challenged Alexander to a non-title match for next week. If he can beat the champion, he’ll be awarded a future title match.

Also, Rohit was mad about the result and tossed a bag backstage. The bag almost hit Chelsea Green, leading Matt Cardona to confront him. That will likely set up something for later.

Tasha Steelz Enlists Help Of Savannah Evans, Ends Tag Team With Kiera Hogan

And just like that, one of the most successful tag-teams in Knockouts history is no more. Fire N Flava are the only 2x winners of the Knockouts tag belts and held the titles for more combined days than any other team in history (aside from ODB and Eric Young, who held the titles for long after they’d stopped being used in the promotion.)

Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace are back on the same page, and they picked up a win over Hogan and Steelz this week, but the real story came after the match. Steelz, evidently seeing the writing on the wall for her team, enlisted the help of the debuting Savannah Evans, who attacked Hogan after the match. A rather mean looking Steelz and Savannah then left the ring area together.

Steve Maclin Is A Dastardly Heel, Petey Williams Makes The Save

Steve Maclin has shown a no-nonsense approach to being a dastardly heel thus far in Impact Wrestling. He made quick work of Jah-C in squash match style but decided to continue the attack after the match. This brought out Petey Williams with a chair to make the save, likely setting up a future match between the two.

Tenille Dashwood Not Impressed With Her Guests On “All About Me” This Week

Dashwood’s talk show where her guests as her questions rather than the other way around didn’t go quite as she planned this week. Scott D’Amore accused Dashwood of phoning border patrol agents to prevent Taylor Wilde from being able to cross the Canada-USA border to attend Impact shows. D’Amore then set up a match between Dashwood and Wilde for next week.

Impact Stars Beat The Elite In The Main Event

Longtime Impact/TNA veteran Kazarian teamed with Impact stars Eddie Edwards and Sami Callihan to go up against the Elite this week. Callihan and Edwards would have to put aside their long-running rivalry and work together. That’s exactly what they did. The finish of the match saw Callihan give Omega a piledriver on the ring apron while in the ring Eddie Edwards hit the Boston Knee Party on Anderson for the win.

W. Morrissey Attacks Eddie Edwards

Eddie Edwards defeated W. Morrissey in a hardcore match at Homecoming to even their head-to-head series at one win a piece. Morrissey let it be known their rivalry is not over yet, however, as he attacked Edwards after the main event. The show went off the air after Morrissey hit a powerbomb on Edwards.

Coming Up In Impact Wrestling

Here are the upcoming matches in Impact Wrestling:

Next Week:

  • Battle Royal to determine Kenny Omega’s next challenger.

  • Taylor Wilde vs Tenille Dashwood

The Good Brothers (c) (or Dark Order if they win on Dynamite next week) vs Violent By Design vs Rich Swann & Willie Mack
  • X-Division Championship
Josh Alexander (c) vs Jake Something

Jordynne Grace Feels Forbidden Door Isn’t Open To Female Wrestlers

Ever since the forbidden door opened, wrestling has changed. The wrestling world has watched the different weekly shows wondering who on earth could appear at any given moment. However, IMPACT star Jordynne Grace feels that there has been a general lack of female talent walking through the door.

Talking during a recent interview with TalkSport, Jordynne Grace voiced her disappointment in the way the forbidden door has operated for female wrestlers.

“Honestly, I was super excited when it first got announced, but as the months have dragged on with only a few things happening and never really happening for the women. I’ve been more disappointed than anything else really. Because I thought the forbidden door was definitely going to wide-open instead of having to knock and only a few people get in at a time [laughs]. But you know, that’s the nature of the business, right!”

Jordynne Grace Wants to Fight the Very Best Around

The forbidden door has been great for wrestling fans. There is an excitement around the sport that had been lost for a long time. However, it is often overlooked that stars like Jordynne Grace or any other wrestler, male or female, are also excited by what this opening means to them.

Wrestling is a small business in many ways. The athletes all know each other, and many have invariably worked for multiple promotions. This new open-door policy means that the previously erected boundaries are gone. It’s conceivable that a story could be sold to creative pitting anybody against anybody else. That’s an exciting prospect for fans and performers alike.

Jordynne Grace doesn’t really know why more women haven’t crossed the forbidden threshold. However, she has hopes that this could change. Grace is a powerful and talented performer. There is a number of exciting possibly matches for her should she or any other female star be allowed through the door.

Josh Alexander: I Beat Kenny Omega 99 Times Out Of 100

X Division Champion Josh Alexander doesn’t know if he’ll ever get to face Impact World Champion Kenny Omega, but if he does, he thinks he beats Omega 99 times out of 100.

SEScoops correspondent Mike Shalik spoke with the Walking Weapon last week about a wide variety of topics, including:

  • How Impact Wrestling has changed since he joined in 2019
  • His vision for the X Division, as champion
  • Injuries in wrestling and how his neck is doing
  • The feeling in the locker room about outside talent appearing in Impact
  • A possible Impact x AEW x New Japan super-show
  • Ambitions to wrestle in Japan

Josh Alexander vs. Kenny Omega?

We also asked Josh Alexander about his recent back encounter with Kenny Omega on Impact TV. He says fans blew up his social media at the prospect of this match, but he doesn’t think Omega would ever agree to fight him. If they did cross paths inside the squared circle, Alexander is convinced he beats the Belt Collector 99 times out of 100.

“I do not think Kenny Omega wants to face me,” he said. “I don’t think he has any intention of ever getting in the ring with me. So I think him chirping and saying his little comments like that, that’s just his way to try to get a rise out of me and everybody else.”

Alexander continued, “It gets people talking and wanting the match. I think my social media blew up more than probably anything ever has before, just in the anticipation for that possibly being a match, so it’s what people want to see. It’s good for business and it’s good for everybody else. I think it’s something that should happen. whether it does or not, not up to me, unfortunately. If that match ever were to happen, I would bet on me 99 times out of 100.”

Josh Alexander Wants to Face AEW Star at Bound for Glory

Since winning the X Division Championship in April this year, Josh Alexander has ridden high. Facing challenges from not only within IMPACT Wrestling but from AAA and New Japan Pro Wrestling also. Now, the man dubbed the Walking Weapon has his eyes set on a star from rival promotion, AEW.

“Black Taurus, you were AAA’s best. If we look at my title reign, I’ve beaten someone from New Japan that’s supposedly the best, someone from AAA that’s supposedly the best, I have run through the entire IMPACT X-Division. So maybe I need to look elsewhere.” Josh Alexander said in a tweet sent out by IMPACT.

“We’re talking about all these different promotions coming at Bound for Glory. AEW, yeah, you know who I’m talking about. I’m saying you give me your best, and we will see which division matters most in this company.”

Josh Alexander Wants to Defend His Belt Against the Best

Josh Alexander never backs down from a fight. He is a fighting champion in every sense of the word. This is demonstrated by his recent match with Black Taurus at Homecoming and the 60-minute Iron Man match with TJP.

It is not clear who exactly in AEW Alexander is calling out, but there are plenty of names on the roster who could be a good fit. Professional wrestling is seeing a throwback style resurgence since opening the ‘Forbidden Door’. Champions from one promotion contracted to others. It is a great time to be a pro-wrestling fan.

As a current champion, Josh Alexander knows the importance of keeping the belt in the company that employs him. Especially with Kenny Omega holding the IMPACT World Championship right now. When IMPACT Bound for Glory comes around, and Alexander’s opponent is announced, he will be fighting extra hard to make sure the belt stays where it belongs.
