Gail Kim Named The Best Women’s Wrestler Of 2012

Gail Kim has earned the number one position in Pro Wrestling Illustrated’s fifth annual “PWI Female 50” list, which ranks the top 50 women’s wrestlers in North America from July 1, 2011 through June 30, 2012. She succeeds Madison Eagles, who ranked No. 1 in last year’s list.

Pro Wrestling Illustrated attributes their decision to ranking Kim as the top women’s wrestler in North America to her record-breaking 210-day reign as TNA Women’s Knockout Champion.

The full list will be revealed this Thursday when the annual issue is released via digital download. The magazine will hit newsstands later this month.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

This is the first time Gail Kim has earned this distinction. Prior Female 50 number ones have included Madison Eagles (2011), Michelle McCool (2010), Mickie James (2009), and Awesome Kong (2008).

Tara Praises Creative Member For Knockouts Rejuvenation, Teases Hollywood Boyfriend, Talks Jillian Hall Tryout

Number one contender for the Knockouts Title at Bound for Glory this Sunday, Tara, talks exclusively to Diva Dirt about her match with former partner, Brooke Tessmacher, and a number of other topics.

The veteran Knockout talks about her friendship and storyline with Brooke, the match Sunday, her recent heel turn and her mysterious Hollywood boyfriend.

Tara also dishes on recent TNA tryout matches she’s been part of with former WWE stars Jillian Hall and Ivelisse Velez.

On TNA putting more effort into Knockouts storylines & her storyline with Brooke Tessmacher: “I think that’s a testament to Dave Lagana. He was the beginning of my career in WWE with storylines, and Bruce Prichard, too, who was always part of creative. I think Lagana took us, the girls division, under his wing and he’s really been putting a lot of thought [in it], not just throwing us out there to have a two minute match. We have a good creative staff now — Bruce Prichard, Eric Bischoff, Dave Lagana. We have a good team. It’s exciting. […] They see how well the ratings are excelling, and how valuable the Knockouts are. I’m thankful that we have Dave Lagana.”

On who her Hollywood boyfriend is: “It’s going to be a big surprise. He’s a big deal, I’ll be honest. You’ll be familiar who he is. I’m excited. I’m biting my tongue not to say anything. He’s super dreamy. I can’t wait for you guys to see him.”

On former WWE Diva Jillian Hall’s recent TNA tryout: “Who do you think got her that tryout? I went up to Al Snow, I said, ‘Why isn’t Jillian wrestling? She’s an amazing wrestler’. And he goes, ‘But does she want to still?’. I called her and said, ‘Hey, do you want to come to TNA?’ and she said, ‘I don’t know. How is it there?’ I said it’s amazing. I gave her Al Snow’s number and next thing I know, I get the call saying I’ve got a match against Jillian at the next show. Of course I want to see her [in TNA]. She’s amazing. She has good ring presence, is a tight, solid wrestler. They were really pleased with her wrestling too. I hope she gets signed.”

James Storm Discusses Hanging Out With “Stone Cold”; His Favorite Tag Team Partner, Odd Fan Experience, More

“Cowboy” James Storm appeared on Extreme Pro Wrestling Radio with Big D and Crisco to discuss hanging out with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, his favorite tag team partner, an odd fan experience and more.

You recently were tweeting with a certain “rattlesnake” about sharing beers, what does one chat with Stone Cold about?

“Ya know, we talked, beer drinkin’, road stories & ya know, comin’ up in the business. Ya know he did a lot of his stuff in the south, he did a lot of stuff in Memphis with the USWA and stuff like that so…He’s good friends with Dutch Mantell, one of my mentors, so we got a lot of things in common! We just sat there and shot the poo…don’t wanna use the other word!!”

If you could change one thing about your character or your persona in the ring, what would it be?

“I am not really sure, I still get held back a little bit of what I can do out in the ring. I wish I could be a little more me!!”

How does James Storm holding the Championship title change things for TNA or how, with the belt would you handle being the locker room leader?

“I’d head out to the first strip club I seen & sit there & party down with em! Ya know, I think it was Rick Rude who said he went to the strip club with the title & was over like rover!! I can relate to a lot of wrestling fans ya know? A lot of em are blue collar workers who wanna go out to a great show on a Saturday or Friday night & just get out & take their kids!”

TNA is very big on fan experience & interaction, what is your best & worst story regarding fan experiences?

“I actually had a girl come to a show that had double F’s, she wanted me to sign my entire name on em…but there was some hair on em. I guess that’s the best & worst!”

If you could have one more tag team run, would you reform America’s Most Wanted or Beer Money Inc?

I’m not really for sure on that. I mean both partners did their thing & it worked out well with them, I don’t have anything bad to say about either of them, when we were together, they performed like we need them to. For me, me & Chris were better friends than I think me & Bobby was…me & Bobby didn’t really travel too much together, me & Chris, when TNA first started up we were all each other had. We had to rely on each other we always traveled with each other so as far as a brother hood I say Chris but I really enjoyed the matches me & Bobby put together especially against the Machine Guns!”

Storm also discusses his match against Bobby Roode tonight at Bound For Glory and what will happen if King Mo gets in the way. Listen and LIKE here www.facebook.com/extremeprowrestlingradio.

Scott Steiner and TNA Lawyers Scheduled For Court, British Boot Camp Finalists At Bound For Glory, Hulk Hogan

– Scott Rechsteiner, famously known as Scott Steiner, and legal representatives of TNA Wrestling are scheduled for a court hearing in Nashville, Tennessee on October 26, according to court records on nashvillechanceryinfo.org.

The hearing stems from Rechsteiner filing a Counter Claim against TNA in Nashville Chancery Court on September 10, which initially filed a formal complaint against the grappler to prevent him from making “disparaging remarks” about the organization and its employees on Twitter. TNA complains that Steiner’s comments breached a contract he signed in December 2010 stating that he is “forbidden from making public statements, including messages online, concerning TNA or any of its employees without prior approval.”

TNA filed a motion to dismiss Steiner’s claim on October 9.

– Jeremy Borash noted on Twitter that the finalists of British Boot Camp are in Phoenix, Arizona for this weekend’s Bound For Glory festivities. The program, which has been commissioned by Challenge TV and will air in December, will follow four Brits attempting to win a full-time TNA contact.

The finalists are wrestling twins Hannah and Holly Blossom, Marty Scurll and Rockstar Spud.

– Hulk Hogan tweeted the following regarding Bound For Glory: “It up to Sting and Bully Ray To stop this and save the day,BFG this Sunday is a game changer,I know Sting and Bully r gonna win it all.

“Phoenix and our Bound For Glory PPV is gonna be crazy this Sunday, please do t miss it,aces&8’s have one shot to get in our company TNA and Looking foward to HOF with TNA IMPACT WRESTLING,STING is a real Icon,in the ring with him last Thursday reminded just how big he really is.”

After one-half of the TNA World Tag Team Champions, Kazarian, tweeted, “I wonder if @officialhtm knows how over he is with a lot of us in the @IMPACTWRESTLING locker room. He is the most quoted man by far!” he wrote in response, “Maybe #TNA needs some Shake Rattle & Roll!”

He added, “HTM in @impactwrestling LOL. 1 on 1 face off with Bitchoff. Mic to Mic shoot!”

Christopher Daniels Discusses Sting Being Inducted Into The TNA Hall of Fame, Bound For Glory, Marvel Comics

TNA Wrestling star and one half of the “World Tag Team Champions of the World”, the “Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels joined The Rack Thursday Night. In a nearly 20 minute interview he talked about this evening’s Impact Wrestling and being put through a table by Sting and Bully Ray, his upcoming title defense against two teams at Bound for Glory, what he thinks of Sting going into the TNA Hall of Fame, the secret recipe for his famous Appletini, his involvement with Marvel Comics and especially Spider Man and any suggestions he has for fans, how to get Kaz and himself their own TV show, his favorite Bound for Glory moment, who he knows the leader of Aces and 8’s truly is, what the slogan would be if Kazarian and himself ran for the White House and much more.

How he was feeling after having been just put through a table at Impact by Sting and Bully Ray: Well, I am a little uncomfortable. I currently have ice on my back all the way down to the back of my right leg. I feel a little bit of sciatica, but because I am a physical marvel, I’m sure that I will be 105% for Bound for Glory; in fact, I’m going to do a bit of light jogging tonight as soon as I’m done eating here at the restaurant where I am eating. And then I’m going to stretch out a little bit and do some DDP Yoga.

His letter being printed in a recent Spider Man comic and how he got his comic super powers from a handshake with Billy Graham: “Exactly, both Frankie Kazarian and myself, it’s 100% true. You can look it up, it’s on Wikipedia; it’s on someone’s Wikipedia page, probably not mine because I don’t write my own, like some people. Look it up; if it’ says its on the internet, it’s true. If it happen in a Marvel letter’s column, so therefore it must be true.”

On having to face two teams this weekend at Bound for Glory: “Such a silly question. Of course we are ready to go. We’ve already beaten Kurt Angle and AJ Styles not once but twice; we beat them for the belts, the belts we currently hold, we defeated them for and we also beat them at No Surrender. And then, Chavo Guerrero III and Sean Hernandez, Jr. (sic); we’ve beaten those guys on national television. So, I mean, Hulk Hogan figured, ‘Well, if we can’t beat them, we’ve got to stack the deck against them’ so that all four of those guys are in the ring with us, but the problem is now those two teams are arguing with each other. Who’s going to get a chance at Kaz and Daniels first? Is it going to be the Latin guys? Is it going to be AJ or Kurt? I’ll tell you what the answer is: neither one of those guys is going to get their hands on us. We’re going to pick them apart; we’re like vultures picking apart a carcass on the Serengeti. We’re going to beat them to death, we’re going to leave them lying in a pool of their own blood. It’s as simple as that.”

What it was like being in the ring with an icon and future Hall of Famer like Sting: “Any time I can physically dominate someone like Sting, it’s awesome. But, of course things being the way they are, we were double teamed. We were unjustly beat upon; it was a 2-on-1 disadvantage that both Frankie and myself were put in. And then they bring tables into the ring; we won that match by DQ, We were three seconds away from beating them both with our finished, but of course then the table came into play and of course those guys couldn’t have beaten us 1-on-1, 2-on-1; they had to bring a table in. It was like an IKEA fest in there; everyone chanting ‘We want Tables! We Want Tables! Hey Bubba, get the Tables!’ For crying out loud! If they wanted tables, they could go shopping. This is professional wrestling; Frankie and I don’t dabble in this table nonsense. We don’t need props or paraphernalia to beat teams.”

His thoughts on Sting going into the TNA Hall of Fame: “You know what, I completely understand, as a current top guy in Impact Wrestling, and someone whose career is still so far from being over. Sting, however; he’s maybe three days away from retirement at any given moment, so that’s fine with me. He’s been a great ambassador for our company. He’s been someone who has supported this company since its inception. He’s an outstanding guy backstage, supporting the young wrestlers; guys that need direction and inspiration. I don’t personally need it but I see him backstage helping young lads out, like Dakota Darsow and Jesse Sorenson and Zema Ion and even once in a while giving a hand to someone like AJ Styles or Bob van Dam. You know, I don’t need those accolades from Sting because I already know I’m great. But, he’s trying to help out and try to be a team player and he deserves it. He’s put his effort it and he’s been an icon. He’s been an icon for many, many years now and he deserves it. It’ll be great to see him go off into the sunset and stop hanging in our locker room.”

His Bound for Glory moment and what it’s like being part of Bound for Glory, especially in a new market for TNA: “My favorite moment is, and I’ll share it with you because I don’t know if they are going to show it on television because they are biased against me, is the first Bound for Glory. The day before the flight, actually hours before the flight I had to leave Los Angeles to fly to Orlando to participate in the first Bound for Glory, my son was born. And if he was born 8 minutes later, I would have missed the flight and I wouldn’t have been able to make the first Bound for Glory where I wrestled AJ Styles in an Iron Man Match for the X Division Title. But 7 minutes after he was born, I got in my car and drove to LAX, and if you watch the first Bound for Glory and you look closely, on my right hand you’ll see a white hospital bracelet, worn in honor of my son’s birth, two days before the Bound for Glory event. So that’s my favorite moment.

“As far as Bound for Glory, you know I can’t say enough about the effort that our locker room puts together when we get into a situation like Bound for Glory. I think everyone say the effort we put into Slammiversary this year; Slammiversary was an off-the-charts show. And now we’re going to be in another new market, the first time for us to be in Phoenix, AZ. It’s going to be a chance for Phoenix to see their favorite wrestlers. For some people, that may be Sting, that may be AJ Styles, but let’s be honest, most people’s favorite is me and Frankie Kazarian. So it’s going to be a great day for all of Phoenix to get a chance to see ‘The Physical Fascination’ Frankie Kazarian and ‘The Sexually Delicious’ Christopher Daniels.”

The audio interview is available here.

*SPOILERS* For Sunday’s TNA Bound For Glory PPV

Sting Talks Aces & Eights, TNA’s Creative Direction, Wrestling For WWE Before He Retires

TNA star Sting recently spoke with the Phoenix New Times to promote Sunday’s Bound for Glory PPV and discussed the Aces and 8s angle, TNA’s overall creative direction and more. Here are some highlights of what Sting said about:

On the segment where he and Hulk Hogan were kidnapped by Aces and 8s: “Yeah…I do have a lot to say about that but, you know, I just need to play it safe for right now. I can say that we were real close to needing S.A.G. cards, you know? (laughs) We need to be with the guild here if we keep going like this.”

On whether fans will be satisfied with the Aces and 8s payoff: “That is always a concern and I’ve been on both sides of the fence when there’s been a big build-up happening and there was not a payoff and there’s nothing worse, believe me. But, man, when the payoff is there and delivery is made, it’s awesome. Only time will tell. My hands have not really been around this one like in the past because it’s not about me. I just want to try to make it as good as I possibly can.”

On TNA’s creative direction: “I’m glad that the storylines are what they are now…eh, I don’t agree with everything happening, but, again, whatever is put before me, I will always just try to enhance or tweak or make changes that I think will make it better for everybody,” Sting said. “And I’m not just talking about for myself, I’m talking about for everybody.”

On who he would like to work with: “Magnus is somebody who I’m watching and going, ‘Man, there’s definitely that could be done with him.’ He just needs to find his niche. There are few others that I’m interested in working with and I want to do that.”

On how much longer he’ll wrestle: “That question comes (up) about once a year and its a legitimate question. Every year I think, ‘How long am I going to do this?’ And it’s one of those play it by ear and see what happens kind of things.”

On a potential WWE jump: “I know every year there seems to be talk of it. There’s rumors that always fly. It was all over the Internet pretty big last year or the year before. So, I don’t know, especially now that I will be inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame. They may just turn the page at that point. I have no idea.”

On what he would be looking for in a potential WWE leap: “It’s too tough of a question to answer because its not just what they would do. It would have to depend on what the dynamics of that particular time would be. What’s going on? What’s the context? For example, right here with TNA. What are my choices? You just never say never.”

On wanting to be able to use his WCW footage (which WWE owns): “There have been times over the years where I wanted to have some footage to use for other personal things in life and I don’t have it. Although I did call once and they were great. They gave me whatever I needed and it was nice.”

Austin Aries On Why He Needs To Win At Bound For Glory, The State Of The X Division, His Success In TNA

Promoting Bound For Glory, TNA World Heavyweight Champion Austin Aries appeared on Monday Night Mayhem (audio available at MondayNightMayhem.com). Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Why he credits simply being himself as the primary reason for his success over the past year since returning to TNA: “I’m just a big believer in ‘timing is everything.’ In every situation in life, you should try and learn from it, and continue to grow. Coming back into TNA, I was more prepared, and I think they were a little more prepared for me. I have been given some opportunities, and put in a position, and I have been capable enough to capitalize on them. When I came into TNA the second time, I was very comfortable in who I was, not that I had a ‘take it or leave it’ approach. I was going to go in there, and be myself, and trust in that, and let the chips fall where they may. I’m enjoying my second time in TNA. Obviously I’m having a lot of success, and I’m about to main event the biggest Pay-Per-View of the year with Jeff Hardy, everybody’s ‘golden boy’…and I look forward to it.”

The evolution of the X-Division since he relinquished the TNA X-Division Championship earlier this summer and what he sees for the future of the division: “You take someone like myself out of the X-Division, and that was a big hole that had to be filled. You see Zema Ion stepped up, and Sonjay Dutt, who has had some issues with his shoulder, but has come back from that. You saw Kenny King make his debut, and I think we will be seeing him again. There’s an influx. There are guys coming in and making some impressions. We will see what happens there.”

What it means to him in having the confidence of TNA as its World Heavyweight Champion leading into Bound For Glory and why he “wants to spoil everybody’s party” in his World Title Match vs. Jeff Hardy: “I have to be real honest. It was great to have that boost of confidence and have the company behind me leading up to winning the championship. That’s really only half the battle. Once you have it, it’s what you can do with it. I’ll be honest. I see a lot of that momentum and support shifting to Jeff Hardy. That doesn’t necessarily bother me, because I’ve always operated best when it’s ‘me against the world,’ and coming into Bound for Glory, that’s how I’m approaching it. I kind of want to spoil everybody’s party, retain my championship, and then talk about my momentum and moving forward. This is my first real challenger after moving past Bobby Roode, so I need to cement this before we start talking about having momentum and how I feel.”

The final message that he wants to personally send to “The Charismatic Enigma” leading into TNA’s biggest Pay-Per-View of the year and what he feels he has to prove to himself in their match this Sunday night: “I think the one message I have been trying to send to Jeff is that I’m still hungry. I’m not sure that he has that same hunger, because he has accomplished a lot of things that can make a man complacent and not as hungry as he used to be. I know Jeff behind the scenes. I know his priority list. I’m not going to sit here and tell anyone that wrestling is number one on that priority list, when you factor in everything else, like his artistic ventures and his family. I don’t have those things. I haven’t yet achieved the same level of success that Jeff has. I don’t feel like I have 100% of the support behind the scenes that a person of Jeff Hardy has, and I will have to prove myself to get it.”

Booker T On Why He Doesn’t Want To Be Inducted Into The WWE Hall of Fame Yet, WCW Highlights, His TNA Run

Promoting his autobiography, From Prison to Promise: Life Before the Squared Circle, Booker T spoke to Joshua Modaberi of Wrestling101.com to discuss the book, his twenty-plus year career in professional wrestling and more. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Being backstage on the night Jerry “The King” Lawler suffered a heart attack during Raw: “I was in the back watching on the monitor and then realised something wasn’t right and I’ll tell you it was scary and we just have to thank God Jerry is a strong man and a fit guy to pull through that, most guys his age wouldn’t have been able to pull through but Jerry Lawler has always been pretty straight laced, he’s never been a drinker, he’s always lived his life clean.

“The WWE doctors were right there and in the right position to take care of him, and when they brought him to the back I was only a few feet away and it was really scary seeing the doctors beating on his chest trying to keep him alive.”

His personal highlights in World Championship Wrestling: “Starting from the beginning and having Sherri Martel as our manager, and I think she was the greatest manager in the business, to having us under her wing definitely gave us the belief that we were legitimate stars because everybody Sherri had been with before us all of those guys were stars, so we just fell into good company.

“As for some of the matches as Television Champion, I had great matches with Chris Benoit and Fit Finlay, then going on to win the big one, the World Championship, against Jeff Jarrett, that was a highlight in my career. But there have been so many highlights in my career it is hard to single out one and say that was it. But to start off in WCW at the bottom of the totem pole and to finish off on the final night right at the top of the totem pole that gave me self-gratification.”

His two-year run with Total Nonstop Action Wrestling: “The way I would explain my time in TNA would be like a vacation, I was detoxing from the rigorous WWE schedule and the hours spent on the road. I just needed time to step back and not think about myself so much but try to help the next lot of guys coming up in the business. That’s what I went to TNA for, I was hoping to help the next generation of stars come up and it was great working with guys like Bobby Roode, AJ Styles and Samoa Joe and giving them some of my knowledge.

“However the company then started to focus on the older guys and my experience there was a good experience but I don’t feel I got as much out of it as I could have.”

Why he doesn’t want to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame until he reaches a certain age: “Yeah, that’s just my thing, I don’t think I’m ready for it, I’m not ready for the Hall of Fame yet. I’m not ready to make that walk, I’m not ready to make that speech yet, I really can’t tell you why because I’m not sure but do I think I have a ton of wrestling days left in me, no, that’s not it at all.

“I just think guys should reach a certain prestige before they get inducted into the Hall of Fame. People talk about what I’ve done in the business with all the accolades and the titles but I still think there is something left for me to do. Maybe it’s going to do a speaking tour, talking to kids in trouble and turning their lives around or some charity work. I’m just not ready for it just yet, and I want to be ready when it happens.”

Booker T also discusses the wrestlers who inspired him to become one himself, tag team wrestling, the major difference between WCW and WWE, working with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, his role as General Manager of SmackDown, and his career highlight in WWE, among other topics. The full interview is available here.

Jeff Hardy Wants Tag Team Wrestling To Make A Comeback, Preview Sting and Bully Ray vs. Aces & 8s At BFG

– During a conference call promoting Bound For Glory, Jeff Hardy addressed the topic of tag team wrestling.

“Tag wrestling is crazy important to me, and it’s just fun y’know. Going back to the days of all the classic TLC matches, working with The Dudley Boys and Edge & Christian, those matches were so special to me. It could be the year 2060 and those matches would still be cool,” he told Fighting Spirit Magazine.

“I’m waiting on tag-team wrestling to spark again, for something else to come along and I kinda’ sensed it back when Beer Money and The Motor City Machine Guns were having an awesome feud. That was phenomenal, and totally awesome. It’d be nice if tag-teams could become as special now as they were back then, and who knows if that’ll happen or not.”

More comments from Hardy on the subject are available here.

Hulk Hogan Interview – Sex Tape Release, Aces & 8s Reveal, Bound For Glory, Devon’s Departure, Austin Aries, Jeff Hardy

Hulk Hogan appeared on Busted Open, which airs every Monday and Wednesday on Sirius 92 and XM 207 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Highlights from the interview are as follows:

Sex Tape: “I actually came to New York City on a trip that was already booked and planned to promote our new timeslot, 8pm on Spike for our show on Impact, and also pump our Super Bowl of wrestling, Bound for Glory. All of sudden, out of nowhere, this tape gets released and it was game changer. I had options, stay home, tail between my legs, not come up here, but that’s not me. It’s not my deal. If I did something, I’m accountable, and if I didn’t do it I’ll tell you the truth. That’s who I am, good or bad. So I’m here brother.”

Reaction to timing being conspicuous: “Timing is conspicuous? How about destroying my kid’s lives? And ruining my new marriage? I’d rather promote a pay per view then protect my new family and my children? Bro come on; let’s get real about it if you want to talk.”

How his kids are handling the video situation: “I don’t want to say good, but okay. They have been through a lot. They were in a household where there was a lot of crazy stuff going on, and when I went through the divorce and I tapped out, and I don’t do crazy anymore, they still love their mother; they still have to deal with a lot of crazy stuff sometimes. They are used to stuff being pretty intense. With the accident my son had and everything like that, there has been a lot of stuff that has made them grow up real fast. Thank God Brooke is 24 and Nick is 22 because something like this, some people can just listen to one side of the story. Like when they were 10 and 12 they may have only listened to one side of the story, so thank God, they know who I am and what I am about. And my new wife doesn’t have anything to do with media or the entertainment business. All this ridiculous sex stuff happened before I even met her. Because if it happened last week or last year, I would tell her. That’s what I do, I step up. If I did something, I did it. If I didn’t, it’s not true. I’m not releasing a tape for timing reasons to promote a pay per view bro.”

Hogan on the release of the sex tape: “About 7 months ago some pictures leaked out, so right away I figured out there was a camera in there. No one cares about the “woe is me” story that’s all so what. Everyone in here has a woe is me story, whether its parents, problems, girlfriend, money, woe is me, no one cares. That’s so what. What matters is, what now? But what now is, I’m accountable, I’m the guy there. But there is a woe is me story, which nobody cares about. The woe is me story is, Bubba and Heather they were married, were my friends. Heather was always a great mother, always kind. Bubba was always my best friend. And they liked to party, which had nothing to do with me. But all of a sudden, about two years before the incident, Heather started saying, “Hey, I want to have sex with you” “I want to party.” I was just like “yeah right, whatever.” Nice compliment for an old guy like me. But Bubba was cool too, “Hey man it’s okay, it’s okay!” and he admits it wide open. And so this went on for a couple years. And the woe is me story is, all time low, when I was living at the big “Hogan Knows Best” house with my sons precision driving team, and my wife was really unhappy with the marriage and pretty much told me she didn’t want to be married to me and whatever goes along with that. So I was at an all time low, and I was with Bubba when we went back to his house and this offer was thrown at me, and I just said to hell with it. And that’s the “woe is me” story, which doesn’t really matter because I made a bad choice. And the thing that is so disturbing to me is that I have been defending Bubba across the board. Because I asked him, “Where did the camera come from?” “I even asked you because I know you have security cameras in your house; you’re not filming this are you?” He was like “No, I would never do that to you, how dare you insult me.” When the pictures came out, I said “What’s up! This was on your watch?” and he said “Oh, it must have been Heather that did it.” It’s crazy dude. You got to stop this. Up until the day before yesterday, when I was coming up here and they released part of the video, I told Bubba, they showed part of the tape and if they show it all, this has totally destroyed my life again, flipped it upside down. I need to know. I don’t want to insult you, but I need to know if you had anything to do with this. Because it’s not just you, me, and Heather, but your son Tyler is on the altar too, he is on the chopping block. I don’t want his dad to go to prison or his dad to lose everything. And I said, “Did you have anything to do with this?” and he flat out denied it and said he wasn’t going to lawyer up. So I just got some disturbing news, and I haven’t seen the tape yet, but I got people like TMZ saying Bubba was in front of the camera saying he can use this for a retirement if he ever needed to. That’s why I am rattled, but bro; I am not releasing a tape or doing anything. I did not know the cameras were there. I just told my attorneys do whatever you have to do criminally, civilly; I still won’t believe Bubba is not my friend until I see the tape. I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve had people tell me they have seen it. Probably one of the worst days of my life yesterday. It’s been a tough ride, but I’m here to promote the pay per view. If you were going to bring that up and say anything about a tape you had to let me talk.”

Austin Aries as TNA World Heavyweight Champion: “He crossed the line, he came in fighting for a contract in the X division and talent speaks for itself. I watched him, he had a little NWO vibe to him, a little Macho Man vibe to him, and very talented in the ring. Right away, I said everyone keeps one upping each other, and all of a sudden Austin is showing us this crazy new level that we need to function on all the time. He raised the bar. So right away, when there was an opportunity for Austin Aries to be the champ, I was like I really hope everything works out perfectly with him and the belt. And so far, he has really stepped up and changed the look of TNA all of a sudden. He got himself over; he really stepped up and got himself over first. When you talk about Hulk Hogan, the normal traditional wrestling train of thought mind set from Vince Sr., to Vince Jr., to Eric Bischoff, to everybody I ever worked for is, don’t talk about the bald headed Hulk Hogan, don’t talk about how old Hulk Hogan is, talk about how devastating he is, and the greatest wrestler of all time. That’s always the mindset, and keeping with that old school philosophy, I tell Austin Aries don’t talk about your size and being the underdog, it has nothing to do with it. If you’re the greatest man in the world, you’re the greatest man in the world. At the end of the day, focus on your strong points and that’s what he has done and I really think that this kid is going to be around for a long time, actually he’s not a kid he’s a grown man, but I think he’s going to be around for a long time, barring no serious injuries. When I walked in the WWWF, The World Wide Wrestling Federation, when it was 3 W’s and an F for Vince Sr., I wasn’t the only guy that worked with Andre the Giant, or Swede Hanson, or King Kong Mosca, there were a bunch of guys, Big John Studd, and we all were like okay here is an even playing field and everyone gets a football, let’s see how far you run with it. They gave me the ball bro and I ran with it to the goal line and back 20 times. Basically you got to get yourself over. You can push somebody and call them the greatest this or the greatest that. You can push them, but all of a sudden you can push a guy for 18 months and really put your horse power behind him and all of a sudden somebody like a Jeff Hardy can stand in the ring that hasn’t been pushed at all and listen to the crowd, the crowd is telling you who they want. All of a sudden you go, oh my gosh, we have been pushing this guy and doing everything we can to get him over and all of a sudden Jeff Hardy walks out there and the crowd is screaming three times as louder than for the guy you put all your energy into. Sometimes you have to switch gears.”

Jeff Hardy in the main event at Bound for Glory: “He’s new age, he’s ahead of the curve, and he’s ahead of the whole curve of the professional wrestling business. He’s got his own language that he speaks to his fans, he’s an innovator. He’s way out there and you have to watch and listen to him to understand. I keep telling everyone this whole business is about selling, it’s not about who does the greatest move, who’s the greatest, the best, the most phenomenal, it has nothing to do with that. It’s the art of selling, making people believe and care about the character. When Jeff Hardy sells, he shines while he sells he doesn’t die. He’s got something, some magic, and if his offense isn’t that great, and you’ve seen the flip, the kick, or the double leg drop, whatever he does. He really comes alive when he starts selling. The more you beat on him, the longer he stays down, the more it starts rumbling. He’s something special; this is going to be a great main event.”

Bobby Roode: “My opinion was you put the belt on him as a baby face and he is going to die 7 deaths. So my idea was to stop the craziness, get everybody upset and mad at me, and said you know what guys, it’s not his time he’s not the guy. Let’s get him to be real consistent, solid as a rock, and then when you put the belt on him, it means something. So his progress to this day right now, no matter who wins the belt at Bound for Glory, you can switch the belt back to Bobby Roode off Aries, you can switch the belt off Hardy and back to Bobby Roode, and you can be safe, because Bobby Roode is that damn good . Bobby Roode has come into his own as a heel, he’s got credibility now and he doesn’t miss a beat. If I’m in the ring with him bro, standing there doing a promo I can tell when something is going to be hard. I’ve been in the ring with guys, when I’m like oh my gosh I’m going to have to work my ass off to get this match over. When you’re in the ring with Bobby Roode it just works now. He’s got himself over, he’s established as a heel, and now he’s wedged in, now if you got in trouble if Austin Aries got hurt or if Jeff Hardy got hurt, you can put the belt on Bobby Roode tomorrow and he’d be gold, he’d be safe.”

Devon and Bully Ray: “He has really stepped up, and speaking of Bully Ray, I have to say something about Devon. One of my biggest disappointments this year has been Devon and I really wish he was with the company. You talk about a guy that got in shape, you talk about a guy that carried himself well, you talk about a guy that’s a good person, you talk about a guy that went out with fire every night and tore the young guys up, you talk about a guy if you book him on a house show with no security and no ride and you tell him to go to six different media events and go to TV stations and he doesn’t bitch and complain and makes all the appearances driving himself on time and still gets to the building before anybody. To lose someone like Devon, it’s like what are you thinking! It’s been one of my biggest disappointments so far this year. I pray to God we get him back. Now talking about Bully Ray, I hated seeing the team breakup because I loved 3-D. Okay so it happened, and he then got in crazy shape all of a sudden, and he told me, “I want to be the single best main event heel in the business” and I heard that about a year and a half ago, and I’ll be damned he’s definitely the single best main event heel we have right now to date. And I can’t even imagine how much bigger he can get, but he’s on fire.”

James Storm: “He is a fan favorite, I just think direction wise, it’s almost like “the little engine that could”, when a company is up and running, you got to get the steam, you got to get build up, before you put the belt on a huge baby face like a Hulk Hogan, or a Rock, or a Stone Cold. I just think that this company needed to be building, and with the roster of heels and baby faces I just really feel that our timing, and it’s not his fault, it’s not Storms fault, I think our timing was off with this whole thing and me flipping the Roode thing and all the stuff I got my nose into, because they asked me. I think it kind of screwed his momentum up also, but he is such a good baby face and such a constant. I think this whole Roode thing is going to get him back on track and at the end of the day he is going to be better because he is not backing off and he is not discouraged. I think it was a timing thing and nothing to do with him as a baby face or his run.”

Impact being live: “Well, it’s not the end all be all, at the end of the day its being live and on the road and getting out of the studio atmosphere of course, but that’s budget and an executive decision by the Carter family. If you want to be a billion dollar company you have to invest, and I still stand by that. I said to everybody at dinner one night. Russo leaving was very impactful because he was there for so long and he worked really hard and I have noticed the difference storyline wise since Eric Bischoff over rides the story with Eric. Nothing against what Vince Russo did, because he has his style, but what I have noticed with Eric is that storylines have a beginning middle an ending, unless I come in and screw them up. It’s just across the board for some reason, everybody is on the same page and same team, oppose to before when everybody was up in the air a little more. For me it has been more consistent except for when I stick my nose in there every once in a while.”

Aces and Eights reveal: “I’m not behind it, I’ll tell you that much. Everyone keeps saying I’m behind it. Aces and Eights is huge man. We are trying not to copy the NWO, we’re trying to be consistent, and we’re trying to really raise the bar on this thing. We were in the trenches a couple weeks ago there was supposed to be a quick reveal and it was just going so good that we delayed the reveal. It should be big; we are really onto to something with this one.”
