*SPOILERS* TNA iMPACT! Tapings Results For Thursday

Credit to TNAInsider.com for the following spoilers:

* Immortal sans Jeff Jarrett and Jeff Hardy out to the ring. Eric Bischoff first introduces the new TNA Champion, Jeff Hardy. Jeff comes down seperately and joins Immortal. Bischoff says this man is proof you can take Fortune out of Immortal but it doesn’t mean anything. He asks the crowd to give it up for him and the crowd boos. Eric says everybody thought when Fortune turned on them they were done but they’re back on top. He congratulates Matt for his effort last night. He says Jeff proved he’s the premiere athlete today and things are happening. People are talking, Japan wants him, everybody wants him. They want to see him wrestle Rob Van Dam so he’ll see if he can make it happen tonight. Jeff Jarrett is off getting ready for his wedding, Hulk Hogan is coming back March 3rd. He also wants to know what Ric Flair is thinking so he’ll give him until next week to answer him. He said he’ll bring the families together or split them for good. That’s the power of being the Nature Boy. Woooooo! Ric Falir’s music hits and he comes to the ring. He says all of grew up on Flair and no one tells him what to do. Don’t forget that he’s a wrestling god.

* Douglas Williams vs. Hernandez w/Sarita and Rosita. Douglas Williams comes out but is immediately attacked by Hernandez from behind and thrown into the ring. Velvet Sky attacks Sarita during the match but can’t handle Sarita and Rosita. Angelina Love runs down and helps her partner. The Knockouts all fight to the back. Winner via Border Toss, Hernandez. He destroyed Williams with it. Williams is legitimately injured as trainers come out to tend to him. Williams eventually walked out under his own power but was obviously hurt.

* They’re setting up a luau setup in the ring. Some tiki heads, a cooked pig on a table and other island-themed decorations.

* “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero is out. He says he’s the most spectacular, pimptacular, etc. wrestler, Pope D’Angelo Dinero. Crowd chants he tapped out. Pope laughs and says he did. But looks who’s standing here now. He says last night they had a heck of a battle but here before him on the table is sloppy Joe (he means the pig). They’re going to have a feast tonight. Who wants to take part? It’ll cost $10 though. Samoa Joe’s music hits but Okato kicks Pope while he’s distracted. Then Joe beats on Pope and gives him a Muscle Buster through the table.

* TNA Champion Jeff Hardy vs. Rob Van Dam announced for later.

* For the TNA X Division Championship, Robbie E w/Cookie vs. Kazarian. Robbie E gets on the mic beforehand. Last Sunday TNA management threw a grenade at him. He was prepared to wrestle two dudes, not one dude. But tonight he’s got Cooks, he’s ready and he’ll be two-time X Division champion. Cookie says Jersey’s in the house, b——. Kazarian comes down and gets on the mic too. He says as an OG of the X Division and card carrying member of Fortune he’s bring the X Division back to the forefront. This company’s foundation was built on the X Division. Not as much foundation on Cookie’s face. If Robbie wants to be a part of that, send that sloppy treasure troll to the back and let’s do this. Cookie leaves and the match is on. Winner via DQ, Kazarian. Cookie ran down and hit Kazarian with her purse when he went for the Omori Driver on Robbie. They beat down on Kaz until Traci Brooks runs down for the save. A cat fight breaks out but Kazarian and Robbie break it up.

* Backstage, Ric Flair is greeted by Fortune in the locker room. Flair mocks Eric Bischoff and bumps fist with everybody. He pumps them up and they all do the Fortune hand sign. Then Flair says he has something for them. He iced them all and they chug some Smirnoff Ice’s. AJ Styles then leaves for a match.

* Matt Hardy vs. AJ Styles. Ric Flair comes out during the match and is ringside. Winner via Twist of Hate, Matt Hardy. Ric Flair pushed AJ off the ropes when he went for a slop drop. Flair and Hardy beat AJ down until Fortune makes the save. Hardy and Flair leave through the crowd.

* Mr. Anderson walks to the ring angry. He immediately calls for Eric Bischoff to get his a– to the ring. Bischoff comes to the ring. Anderson says some of the guys told him Rob Van Dam has a match with Jeff Hardy later today. He was under the impression the champ gets that match. Bischoff says Anderson is not the champ. Also, the network wanted the match. This is the television business. Impact is a television show on a network. If the network wants that match then they get it. Anderson demands to be put in the ring. Eric says maybe Anderson wasn’t picked because of his language. Maybe if he was more PG he’d get the match. Anderson says he likes saying a–hole. The people like a–hole. But he can stop saying a–ole. He won’t say a–hole anymore. Bischoff says he can put him in the main event as the special referee. Anderson shakes Bischoff’s hand and then gives him a Mic Check.

* The Beautiful People vs. Sarita & Rosita. Winner via a foot on the ropes pin from Sarita to Velvet Sky, Sarita & Rosita. Velvet gets on the mic and says she’s had Sarita beaten every single time. Sarita has only won thanks to outside interference and shenanigans. She wants to end this in the ring right now. Sarita says Velvet is a loser. If Velvet wants to take her on she’ll up the ante. Why not put your career on the line? That way their next match will be Velvet’s last match in TNA.

* Taz and Mike Tenay are doing a promo but Bully Ray comes out and gets in Tenay’s face. We can’t hear it but Ray is yelling. Taz gets up and says some things to Taz. Ray now yells at Taz. They go back and forth as Ray gets more agitated. Ray eventually leaves to a chorus of boos.

* For the TNA Championship, Rob Van Dam vs. Jeff Hardy with special guest referee Mr. Anderson. Winner via Twist of Hate, Jeff Hardy. RVD had Hardy in a go behind and ran him into Anderson in the corner. Hardy used that opportunity to hit a back kick into RVD’s groin and get the win. Anderson hit a Mic Check on Hardy after the match. RVD got in Anderson’s face after that so Anderson hit a Mic Check on him as well.

Hogan & Flair’s TNA Returns, Kurt Angle Update, GenME

– Hulk Hogan has been back in the gym training and is getting ready to return to TNA television. Hogan will be at this week’s iMPACT! tapings and wrote on Twitter that he’s “Getting ready to go to Orlando.”

– Another legend set to return to TNA at tonight’s iMPACT! tapings is Ric Flair. The “Nature Boy,” who has been out of action since the blow up he had while on the recent European tour, is currently dealing with a shoulder injury.

Flair reportedly suffered a torn his rotator cuff in a match with Doug Williams. Sources had expected Ric Flair to undergo surgery, meaning he would have been out for around 4 months, but he has decided to skip it for now and return back to work.

– While Kurt Angle teased retirement after losing to Jeff Jarrett at last night’s Against All Odds pay-per-view, he is confirmed for the Victory Road pay-per-view on March 13th. Per the stipulations last night, Angle now must walk Karen Jarrett down the aisle on the March 3rd iMPACT when she and Jeff renew their vows. Angle taking his boots off and leaving them in the ring at the PPV was a symbolic guesture that is done when amateur wrestlers are ending their careers.

– Max and Jeremy Buck posted messages on their Twitter accounts last night apologizing for not being able to make the Against All Odds pay-per-view.

The Pope Talks About TNA vs. WWE, Samoa Joe Fued

TNA star “The Pope” D’Angelo Dinero recently spoke to The UK Sun newspaper and had this to say about the following topics:

Elijah Burke (WWE) vs. D’Angelo Dinero (TNA):

“It all comes down to the promoting of one’s character. That doesn’t just involve the person themselves, but it involves the company, as well, that the individual is wrestling for. That plays a big part in what works and what doesn’t work. You watch the company up north and they will take a character and shove it down your throat. They tell you ‘this is what we want to work so you’re going to cheer or you’re going to boo’.

Who remembers Elijah Burke but a diehard fan? Pope has become far more known than Elijah Burke ever was in the three years he was with WWE. What does that say about self-promoting? What does that say about TNA’s promoting?”

Feuding With Samoa Joe:

“I want you to keep a close eye on this situation. I’m going to show how it’s going to be THE feud to watch in all of wrestling. You got Pope – I mean, you got POPE – then you got Joe. You got the Samoan Submission Machine, the guy is a monster in the ring, with his aggression and everything.

Pope will handle all the juckin’ and jivin’, pimpin’ and the ridin’. Pope will handle all the talking, the charismatic features and abilities that should be applied in the ring. Pope is going to handle all the showboating. Joe’s going to handle the rest. I think it’s going to be a great complement to each other, being that we’re both so different. When we get in the ring, magic is going to happen.”

What Happened After Against All Odds & Backstage Videos

– After Sunday’s TNA Against All Odds pay-per-view went off the air, Jeff Hardy placed the multi-colored ladder into the corner and climbed it. Jeff was announced as the new champion and celebrated on the lader.

Jeff Hardy Wins TNA World Title, Giant Diva Gets TNA Tryout

TNA Wrestler Highly Skeptical Of Sting Joining WWE

One TNA wrestler is ‘highly skeptical’ about the possibility of Sting joining World Wrestling Entertainment since the multi-time wrestling champion has openly expressed mistrust when it comes to working for Vince McMahon. Sting feels he has to be carried through matches, and he’s developed a level of trust with several TNA wrestlers.

Many people within the industry consider Sting to be absent minded in the squared circle. Wrestlers who have worked with him over the years have stated that he often forgets spots and has to be carried by his opponents.

TNA Wrestling officials have been quiet regarding Sting’s status. People often in the know of TNA’s wheelings and dealings say they are unaware of Sting re-signing with the company. However, it’s considered possible that he has re-signed with TNA since company president Dixie Carter is the main reason he has re-signed with the organization in the past. It’s become an annual joke within TNA that creative will be told to work on Sting’s retirement angle only to have Carter inform them that she signed him to a new one-year contract.

Ric Flair also missed last week’s tapings, due to an injury he suffered to his rotator cuff while working a match against Douglas Williams in London, England. Eric Bischoff Talks March 3rd iMPACT!, “They” & More

TNA’s Eric Bischoff was one of the featured guests on this week’s live edition (02/07/11) of the award-winning Monday Night Mayhem: MNM’s nine-year anniversary special.

Eric Bischoff Says “Nature Boy Isn’t Going Anywhere,” Reveals Just How Close We Were To Seeing The Main Event Mafia Return To TNA/His Opinion On The Unveiling Of “They,” The Latest On Sting’s TNA Future, Hulk Hogan’s TNA Return, What He Credits For The Recent Success In The Ratings For TNA, How The iMPACT Viewing Experience Will Be Different On March 3rd, Whether The Constant Vince Russo Hate From Wrestling Fans Is Warranted, Plus Much More In The Return Of “The Hot Seat With Eric Bischoff” (Flavored By Sizzlin Sauces).

You can listen to an MP3 of Bischoff’s interview at this link.

Interview highlights courtesy of The Mayhem’s official correspondent, Paterson from New Jersey:

What he credits for the recent success in the ratings of TNA iMPACT over the last several weeks and what’s needed to stay at that level of where they are now:

“I don’t think there’s any one thing in success & failure. It’s always a combination of several things. I think one of the things we are doing that is resonating with the audience in integrating more reality into our stories whenever we can. Keeping an edge on our stories & characters, more so than we have done in the past. Where we are in our storylines really started back in October at Bound for Glory, and it’s continuing now where we are today and where we are leading up to on March 3rd.”

His opinion on the new direction of the “They” storyline:

“I think ‘Plan B’ (the Fortune split from Immortal) was well-received. It caught everyone by surprise when everyone came to TV, because we didn’t call everyone and give a heads-up in advance and because we like to contain & control information creatively as best we can. Once everyone wrapped their heads around it, I think the guys were very excited about it. Fortune is a strong, aggressive, young, emerging group of talent that saw a opportunity for them to step up, and now they’re taking it.”

What fans watching at home can expect to see on the March 3rd edition of iMPACT that’s different from their normal Thursday night TNA viewing experience:

“What I’m hoping we’re going to see is, I know we are going to see a pretty powerful show from a content point of view. You are also going to see a show in front of an energized crowd in a bigger arena that has a different kind of energy. I’m going to say better energy, but a different kind of energy than we typically see.”

Locker Room Opinion On Hardy, Knockout’s Release Confirmed

— Initially, there was much concern amongst the TNA Wrestling locker room regarding Matt Hardy’s state of mind—largely based on his oftentimes peculiar online videos. Many have since changed their tune on the former WWE Superstar as he’s considered easy to work with and friendly.

Concern, however, remains over his conditioning and wrestling ability.

— The Wrestling Observer Newsletter confirms that Alison Skipper (a/k/a Chelsea) was released by TNA Wrestling. Her profile was removed from the company website last week.

Desmond Wolfe has a medical condition—that has yet to be publicly disclosed—which caused company officials to drop his partnership with Magnus and Chelsea. Magnus reunited with Wolfe at television tapings in December, but a decision was made to not air the vignettes they filmed.

— TNA newcomer Crimson has launched an account on Twitter.

Hulk Hogan Endorsing New Line Of Cleaning Products

Listen dude, the following press release was issued today, brother:

TV Goods to Roll Out Hulk Hogan Endorsed Line of Pumice-Based Cleaning Products; PumMagic(TM) Product Line Draws Interest of Big Box Retailers

CLEARWATER, FL — (Marketwire) — 02/08/11 — H & H Imports, Inc. (OTCQB: HNHI) (PINKSHEETS: HNHI), the parent company of TV Goods Holding Corporation, which previously announced that it was testing a single pumice-based cleaning product endorsed by Hulk Hogan, today announced that the Company has developed a complete line of the cleaning products, and has rebranded the line as “PumMagic.”

After receiving feedback from key big box retailers that they would like to see more than a single product marketed under the brand, the Company expanded the product line to include not only cleaners, but brushes, wipes and sponges; some of the most popular line extensions presently in the market. In addition, the Company improved and reformulated the product and product packaging.

The Company has reshot the commercial to include the line extensions and will begin airing the spot shortly. The Company is planning to launch the products on a global basis through multiple distribution channels including direct response, Electronic Retailing, live shopping channels, and retail (including web-based).

The PumMagic? line is a revolutionary new line of pumice-based cleaning products that are safe enough to wash dishes yet gentle enough to clean a child’s hands. The product line that the Company will be testing will include a liquid cleaner, a powdered cleaner, Pop-Up and Bag Pumice Wipes, Shaminator Sponges and bathroom scrubbers. The product effortlessly removes stains caused by coffee, ink, wine, juice, soy sauce, makeup, and more. It will be promoted as “The Cleaner for the Toughest Stains.”

TV Goods Chairman Kevin Harrington said, “We were glad to hear feedback from target retailers that they wanted more than just one product to sell under our PumMagic? line. More products mean more shelf space and more opportunities for consumers to try our products across an increased range of uses to create an ongoing brand loyalty. The Company believes that with the visibility created by products endorsed by Hulk Hogan, consumers will try the products and keep coming back once they have tried them because of how well the entire line actually works!”

Harrington went on to say, “We are also planning to expand the number of celebrity endorsers that the Company deals with, as we believe that getting the right individual with the right product line should affect the sales in a very positive manner and more quickly increase brand value and awareness. We believe that Hulk is perfect for this line of cleaning products, and that 50 Cent is the right man at the right time for the audio line of products. Continuing into the future, we intend to develop other partnerships with other celebrities for different lines of products and services.”

Eric Bischoff Talks Sting-WWE, TNA Ratings, They & More

Thanks to Martin H. and PWInsider.com for the following recap of Eric Bischoff on Monday Night Mayhem yesterday:

Monday Night Mayhem had Eric Bischoff on their nine year anniversary today live last night.

– Bischoff took questions from fans. When asked about the Super Bowl, Bischoff said he used to live in Pittsburgh.

– A fan mentions the ratings of TNA and how successful they were. Bischoff said one of the things that’s resonating with the audience is integrating reality with characters, and keeping an edge. Bischoff says the storyline arc started back in October at Bound For Glory and is continuing and leading up to March 3. Bischoff said investment in a long term storyline arc and reality, and keeping a sharper edge. He said it’s a combination of those things.

– A question was about Fortune being revealed as “they”. Bischoff said he hates the three-part questions. Bischoff says it wasn’t close to seeing the return of the Main Event Mafia. He said there were some shifts, but they knew way in advance that there was going to be an issue. There were plans to adjust the plans accordingly. He said Nash signed an agreement with WWE. Bischoff said he isn’t involved in talent signs of things. He said Nash/TNA departed as friends. He said nothing caught them off flat-footed. When wheels were off original plan, it was a matter of time before “Plan B” took place.

– Bischoff says Plan B was well received and caught everyone by surprise. He said the guys were pretty excited about it. He said Fortune is a strong, aggressive, emerging group of talent. He said he’d prefer that you ask the talent because he doesn’t like to speak for others.

– Immortal vs. Fortune. Was it meant to occur too fast? Bischoff said he prefers not to get into it. He says where they are now is where they would be in a matter of time. He said it caught them flatfooted a bit.

– Why is everyone ducking the Sting rumor? Bischoff says he is not aware of whether Sting is with TNA or not. He’s not involved in talent acquisitions or discussions/negotiations, so he’s not in the front line of it. Bischoff doesn’t think Sting would go to WWE, but if it was, it would be for a short time, maybe merchandise/licensing. Bischoff says anyone that expects Sting to show up in WWE as a full-time wrestler will be disappointed.

– Bischoff says he hasn’t seen Desmond Wolfe on the next set of tapings and is unsure about the future of Wolfe as he doesn’t know.

– How does Bischoff react to people that discount Bischoff’s abilities, such as TNA’s downfall? Bischoff said last he checked, TNA is doing pretty well. Bischoff said 10% of the people make 90% of the negative noise. The smallest percentage of the Internet are giving wrestling fans in general a bad name.

– An opinion of WWE’s product. Bischoff says he hasn’t been watching. He respects Shane, Vince, Stephanie. He says the company has taken this business to a new level: a television juggernaut. Bischoff says the youth movement is good. Bischoff says WWE’s business is down and finds it ironic? Bischoff says WWE goes back to the older talent to bring business back up (Nash, Booker T, Sting, Jerry Lawler going for the title).

– Bischoff says Nature Boy isn’t going anywhere. He said there are two sides to every story, there may have been a lot blown out of proportion. He says there isn’t an issue that he is aware of with TNA/Flair. He said he sees Flair’s name on the next set of tapings and he doesn’t hope Flair is going anywhere.

– Question: how do you take experiences and mistakes from the past and apply them to current situations today? Bischoff says he goes by feel when it comes to creative, characters. He elaborated a little more about this.

– Is the Vince Russo hate uncalled for? Bischoff says no doubt. Eric says nobody is perfect or 100% all the time. Everyone has strengths and weaknesses and Vince is no different. Day in, day out, consistently, Vince is more than proven himself to be an extremely talented guy, proves he can change/adapt, strives to put out the best product. He says he never met anyone that worked harder and most of what people are enjoying right now can dfirectly be attributed to Russo.

– How is Hulk Hogan doing? Bischoff says Hogan is doing well from all the discussions he has with him. He says you will see Hogan in Fayetteville on 2/24 – which will be March 3rd.

– Bischoff says you will see a powerful show from a content point of view on March 3rd (2/24). He says you will see a show that is from a content point of view, going to be different than what you typically see. He says you will see a different kind of energy in an energized crowd. He didn’t want to say better crowd. He says there are positives and negatives in Impact Zone. He says an audience that doesn’t show up every tapings or hang out with the wrestlers at hotels. He says the show is going to “feel” much different?

– Hulk/Eric’s contract that is up this year – rumours. Bischoff doesn’t comment on contractual issues? He won’t comment on that.

– Scott Steiner’s return. Main event player at this point in his career? Bischoff says anyone that underestimates Steiner’s in ring ability is kidding themselves. Bischoff says he is unsure about how he will be used, but he knows that Scott Steiner is a player, wherever he is. He’s believable, intense, and is a workhorse in the ring.

– Bischoff has a high opinion of Robert Roode as a talent. Final question. With the road to wrestlemania, Eric is not afraid of competition. With that said, with the recent spike in Impact ratings, how pleased is Eric to see the progression of the company over the part of the past several weeks. What can the fans expect in upcoming weeks/months?

– Bischoff said this past year, there were 7-8 weeks of the highest ratings in the history. He said TNA is slowly but surely are hitting in the right direction. He said there were some speed bumps, he said they are building momentum and good talent. He wants to take the show in the road, inject the show with different kind of energy. He says they have a good future and is very proud of it.
