Fan Ejected For Spitting On Taya Valkyrie At Impact Event (Video)

An altercation took place last night between a fan and Taya Valkyrie during Impact Wrestling’s “A Night You Can’t Mist” event from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The fan was ejected from the building.

Another fan in attendance took video of Taya and the fan arguing, though it is not clear what is being said in the clip. Taya knocks a drink out of the fan’s hand and the fan spat at her as she walked away.

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 6/7

Impact Wrestling presented an episode taped from the 2300 Arena last night on Twitch. The main event featured a tag team title match between LAX and the Rascalz.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 6/7:

Decision Reversal Prevents the Rascalz From Winning Tag Titles

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pm5lj1Fdl4c

Earlier in the show, Trey was shown having a drink in Rascalz clubhouse. He had the drink after finding out it would be Dez and Wentz representing the trio against LAX in the night’s main event for the tag titles.

Controversy then took place in the title match. After a ref bump, the Rascalz appeared to get the victory and win the titles but it was actually Trey who got the pin. The original ref then reversed the decision after the match and disqualified the Rascalz due to Trey’s interference, awarding the match to LAX.

Moose Challenges Rob Van Dam For Slammiversary

It looks like another single’s match is likely for the PPV in Dallas next month. Moose cut a promo this week challenging Rob Van Dam to a match at Slammiversary. RVD has yet to respond to Moose’s challenge.

Tessa Blanchard Took Out OVE

The Crist brothers needed to hit Fallah Bah with a roll of quarters to pick up the victory over him and Scarlett Bordeaux this week. After the match, however, Tessa Blanchard prevented OVE from doing more damage as the former Knockouts champion continues to build a rivalry with the team from Ohio.

Jessicka Havok Attacks, Led By James Mitchell

A non-title match (Taya only defends her title when she has to) between Rosemary and Taya Valkyrie was thrown out this week when James Mitchell marched his newest monster to the ring. Jessika Havok made her return to Impact and the Knockouts division just got a whole lot bigger and stronger.

Jordynne Grace Over-Powers Kiera Hogan

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Cf9h7VxsiU

After dropping a Knockouts title match at Rebellion in April, Jordynne Grace has been on a tear. She picked up another win this week over a game Kiera Hogan. She will have another chance to take out Taya for the title tonight at “A Night You Can’t Mist.”

Madman Fulton Takes Out 2 Opponents

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQfmTdYGDII

Sami Callihan rode atop Madman Fulton on the way to the ring this week. Fulton then won a 2-on-1 handicap match. Both Callihan and Fulton were ejected from ringside as the Crist brothers took on Scarlett Bordeaux and Fallah Bah after.

Desi Hit Squad Cost Cousin Jake Match Against Ace Austin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsNXyqgICqw

Ace Austin picked up another single’s victory this week. He defeated Cousin Jake from the Deaners in the night’s opening match. The Desi Hit Squad interfered in the match, however, costing Cousin Jake the bout and continuing the rivalry between the two teams.

Pursuit Airs Wrong Episode Of Impact, Show Now Available For Free

Impact Wrestling continues to have troubles with their American US broadcast partner, the Pursuit Channel. Previously, Pursuit failed to come back from commercial during a main event match between Michael Elgin and Rich Swann and last night the channel ran the wrong episode of the show.

Instead of airing the most recently produced show, Pursuit re-ran last week’s episode instead.

Impact has since let their fans know last night’s episode is up for free on their Impact Plus App. You don’t need a paid subscription to view the episode, you just need to register for a free account:

The episode is only up for American viewers, however, since the correct episode aired on Impact’s international broadcast partners.

Impact Wrestling Potential New TV Deal

This is the latest in a series of unfortunate events involving Impact on Pursuit. There have also been issues with Pursuit listing Impact Wrestling as four separate 30-minute shows instead of a single 2-hour episode.

Konnan mentioned on his podcast recently that he’d heard Impact was looking at a potential new American broadcast partner in the fall.

Impact Wrestling airs every 10PM on Twitch.tv/impactwrestling. The promotion recently unveiled its revamped Impact Plus app as well. A live event “A Night You Can’t Mist” is planned for tonight from Philadelphia’s 2300 Arena.

Killer Kross Refutes Reports He Is Unhappy With Impact Wrestling

Killer Kross was reported to have asked Impact Wrestling for his release recently. According to a report from PW Insider, Kross asked Impact for a release after the two sides were not able to agree on a new contract for the 33-year-old.

According to Kross, however, he’s happy with Impact Wrestling and there were inaccuracies in the reports stating he requested his release. He recently took part in an interview with MultiMedia Mouth where he addressed the reports.

“I’ve chosen not to talk about it and the reason being is because there are inaccuracies that are in that article,” Kross said. “Quite frankly, I’m very f***ing angry that that article has surfaced and that’s all I’m allowed to say about that. I’m not happy about it.”

Killer Kross On Impact Wrestling

“My end game to be completely honest with you is to be financially secure enough to take care of my family,” Kross said. “Wherever that can happen is where I belong.”

Kross also spoke about what he enjoys about being with Impact Wrestling during the interview.

“I’ve been very very happy being at Impact Wrestling,” Kross said. “I’ve been very vocal about that over the last year, I’ve been having a blast! I have a lot of freedoms there that probably wouldn’t be afforded anywhere else.”

Kross continued to say he’s been dying to get to wrestle in Japan and thinks the country is ready for its next big heavyweight Gaijin star.

Kross recently dropped a street fight to Eddie Edwards on Impact Wrestling this Friday.

Brian Cage Reportedly Pulled From Appearing At AEW PPV By Impact

Brian Cage is reported to have been backstage at AEW’s Double or Nothing PPV in Las Vegas and was ready to appear. According to a report from PW Insider, Cage was only prevented from doing so by Impact Wrestling.

He was slated to participate in the Casino Battle Royale.

“Cage was backstage at the PPV and prepared to compete in the match but when Impact Wrestling officials learned he was there, they contacted Cage and informed him he could not appear due to his Impact deal,” the report reads.

Brian Cage On Impact Wrestling Working With Other Promotions

Cage recently took part in an interview on the WINCLY podcast and discussed talent-sharing agreements. He said he’d like to see promotions such as AEW, Impact, and Ring of Honor do more to work together.

“Essentially, everyone in the pro wrestling business is in the business together. We’re all trying to make money and WWE is obviously the global conglomerate and has the stronghold on everything. I feel like everyone who’s competing against each other and them, if everyone would work together, we would present way more possibilities as far as matches and storylines,” said Cage.

Cage is scheduled to defend his Impact World Championship next against Michael Elgin. Elgin will challenge Cage at the Slammiversary PPV on July 7th.

Brian Cage Comments On AEW & Impact Talent-Sharing, Michael Elgin, more…

Brian Cage will put his Impact World Championship on the line against Michael Elgin at Slammiversary next month. Cage won the title at Rebellion in April by defeating Johnny Impact. He would miss TV tapings in Toronto and Philadelphia as a result of a back injury sustained in the match, however.

Cage was recently a guest on the WINCLY podcast and spoke on a variety of subjects. He mentioned that he would love to see more talent-sharing partnerships amongst wrestling promotions.

“I would love to see more partnerships going down whether it be with Impact and AEW or Impact and ROH,” Cage said on the show.

He mentioned talent-sharing would be a great way to present more fresh match-ups.

Brian Cage On Michael Elgin

Cage also spoke about his upcoming opponent, Michael Elgin, on the show.

“I know Elgin very well as we used to be tag partners and tag champions in PWG,” Cage said. “First and foremost, I’ll say that I’m glad Elgin is in Impact as he’s a phenomenal talent. He brings a lot to an already-stacked roster, especially the heavyweight division.”

Rosemary choked Mitchell before telling him to leave while he still could. She also said that Su Yung would continue to be her prisoner.

Brian Cage Discusses Being Impact World Champion While Injured

Brian Cage was finally able to call himself a world champion after winning the Impact World Championship at Impact’s Rebellion pay-per-view (PPV) back in April. Unfortunately, Cage would suffer an injury early during the matchup against Johnny Impact after taking a Spanish Fly from off the ramp to the floor. He would ring in his first night as champion in the hospital.

Speaking with the WINCLY podcast, Cage has discussed his injury status and his frustrations of being the champion while injured.

He shared that being Impact Champion is something he still can’t believe is real before adding that “Not being able to compete and defend the title as regularly as I’d like [because of the injury] is a bummer, but it’s awesome. I’m very thankful.”

Looking back at the moment that led to the injury, Cage explains that “It happened during the Spanish Fly onto the floor. We get hurt a lot and I was differentiating between being hurt and being injured. I kept thinking, ‘Maybe it will subside. Maybe it will subside.’ But there was no subsiding.”

Cage allegedly thought he had ruptured a disc, and immediately worried he would need surgery—assuming the injury wasn’t career ending. Despite this concern, Cage was adamant he would finish the match, refusing to stop despite the damage to his back.

With an eye to the future, Brian Cage admits that he isn’t sure about when he will return, though he has set himself a goal to be back by Slammiversary, which takes place on July 7th.

7 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 5/24

Impact Wrestling was from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia and had an ECW-nostalgic feel. Rob Van Dam faced Tommy Dreamer in the main event.

Here are 7 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 5/24:

Sabu Makes The Save Against the North

  • Rob Van Dam defeated Tommy Dreamer

Moose joined Josh Alexander and Ethan Page in a post-match attack on Dreamer and RVD this week. This followed RVD beating Tommy Dreamer in the night’s main event. Moose would give the North the numbers advantage when he came out but Sabu made the save and the ECW team stood tall to end the show.

LAX Retain Titles But Controversy Follows

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2vaw4aypqrg
  • LAX (c) defeated the North – Impact Tag Team Championships

LAX defeated the North to retain their tag titles this week. Alexander and Page might have a complaint, however. It seemed as though the North actually got the 3-count moments before LAX did. Matthews and Callis said on commentary that the North might have a case for a rematch.

Johnny Impact Is Going For The X-Division Title

Johnny Impact holds the big red X as a result of winning the Ultimate X match in April. He said this week that he hopes Michael Elgin sends Rich Swann to the hospital because he wants the X-Division title. Elgin and Impact agreed to team up to take on Mack and Swann next week.

Rosemary Is Coming For Taya

  • Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Madison Rayne

Madison Rayne looked as though she was going to pick up the victory with a spinning reverse DDT but Taya grabbed ahold of the referee as the Rayne was giving her the move. Valkyrie then grabbed Rayne, delivered the Road to Valhalla and picked up the victory.

Following the match, Rosemary (with Su Yung on a leash) came out to confront the champ and make it known she wants a shot at the title.

Dez Picks Up Win In X-Division 4-Way

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOFzMFba-w8
  • Dez defeated Rohit Raju, Ace Austin, Petey Williams (fatal 4-way)

Dez from the Rascalz picked up the win in X-Division action this week. He pinned the Desi Hit Squad’s Rohit Raju.

Earlier in the show, the Rascalz were shown getting serious in their training while in Philadelphia:

Sami Callihan Bites Feet, Wins Match, Spits At Scarlett Bordeaux

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6cJNaSkN14
  • Sami Callihan defeated Fallah Bah

Sami Callihan stooped to new lows in his match against Fallah Bah to kick things off this week. Callihan punched Fallah Bah in the bare feet and even bit his toes in order to gain the advantage. The members of OVE would come out to cause a distraction. They grabbed a hold of Bordeaux on the outside, leading Bah to avert his attention to them. When Bah got back in the ring, he took a Cactus Driver and ate a pinfall while Callihan had his feet on the ropes.

After the match, Callihan spat at Bordeaux.

Tessa Blanchard Is Coming For Glenn Gilbertti

The former Disco Inferno was back on Impact Wrestling this week. After winning a Knockouts Battle Royal previously, Gilbertti this time wrestled an exhibition match against Ashley Vox. He didn’t put the microphone down the whole match either.

Eventually, Tessa Blanchard had to come out and put Gilbertti in his place. It was Blanchard who Gilbertti eliminated from the Battle Royal last, so she was getting some revenge for that as well.

It was later announced that Gilbertti will face Tessa Blanchard in inter-gender action next week.

Quick Results:

  1. Sami Callihan defeated Fallah Bah w/Scarlett Bordeaux
  2. Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) defeated Madison Rayne
  3. Tag Team Championships: LAX (c) defeated the North
  4. Dez defeated Rohit Raju, Ace Austin, Petey Williams (fatal 4-way)
  5. Rob Van Dam defeated Tommy Dreamer

Update On Jordynne Grace Signing With Impact Wrestling

Jordynne Grace had a brief free agency period recently. The 23-year-old was believed to have signed with Impact in October but it turned out she hadn’t actually signed the contract. According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Impact gave Grace an ultimatum, either sign or not be used any further.

“(Grace) was given an ultimatum to sign or not be used anytime further so she agreed to sign,” wrote Dave Meltzer.

The report continued to say why Grace decided Impact was the best place for her.

“It was noted that there are places she likes going such as Eve in London and Sendai Girls, and with Impact, she gets U.S. exposure, as minimal as that may be, gets a push, builds her name and can work where she wants,” Meltzer continued. “In WWE, they’d probably hire her but she’d be lost in the shuffle and AEW would push her but she may not be able to work other places.”

Jordynne Grace’s Short Free Agency Period

Grace explained her situation recently in an interview with Fightful.

“I was hoping to have some good matches and show that I could follow direction and criticism beforehand, of course. I wanted to renegotiate the original deal once I had shown I had value and worth,” Grace said.

She continued to say that she received offers from multiple companies during her short free agency period.

“I had contact with each of those companies (ROH, WWE, AEW, NWA), and had many options and offers in front of me. At the end of the day, Impact is where I wanted to be. I was ready to make a difficult decision if needed, but I was sincerely hoping everything would work out in the end! I can’t be sure if Double or Nothing had anything to do with it, but it’s a possibility.”

Impact Wrestling Looking To Secure New Television Deal

Impact Wrestling officials are looking to secure a new TV deal in the United States to air their weekly flagship show this coming Fall. According to a report by PWInsider, Impact has had issues with their current network, Pursuit Channel, which has led to them wanting to make a change.

The media outlet reports that the promotion wants a better home for their TV show as it’s no secret that Pursuit is not available in as many homes as television networks such as Pop, Destination America, and SPIKE (now known as Paramount Network) that they’ve had in the past.

Incidents such as Pursuit being slow to respond to Impact’s requests, and listing the two-hour show as four separate 30-minute episodes have been part of “the latest in a long line of headaches.”

The most recent issue came last week when fans watching Rich Swann and Michael Elgin in the main event didn’t see the end of the match as the Pursuit Channel went to commercial and kept running commercials instead of returning to the broadcast.

This led to Impact having to apologize for the error and added the full show to IMPACT+ app immediately. Impact announced their TV deal with Pursuit back in January.

Jordynne Grace Explains Not Signing, Then Signing With Impact Wrestling

Impact Wrestling announced in October that Jordynne Grace had signed with the promotion. It turns out, however, that was not entirely true. Grace had received a contract from the promotion but never signed or returned it. This led to a brief free agency period for the 23-year-old.

She has since actually signed with the company and posted the following in regards to this:

Jordynne Grace Wanted To Show Impact Her Worth

It had been her plan to show Impact her worth before coming back to them with her contract. Grace explained her contract situation in a recent interview with Fightful.

“I was hoping to have some good matches and show that I could follow direction and criticism beforehand, of course. I wanted to renegotiate the original deal once I had shown I had value and worth,” Grace said.

“Thick Mama Pump” also talked about offers she had on the table during her brief free agency period.

Grace continued to speak in regards to how much she enjoys working for the company.

“I cannot stress this enough. I love Impact,” Grace made a point to say.”No company is flawless, of course, and I think anywhere I went, there would have been some sort of problem. No company is truly without issue. Whether it’s not enough exposure, not enough money, not being used properly, not being used enough… I’m sure I would have gripes with ANY company. Impact is a company I truly believe in, and they’re doing their best. I have amazing friends there, and I have a blast backstage.”

Jordynne Grace Signs With Impact Again, Apology Issued Over Broadcast Problems

It has been an interesting weekend for Impact Wrestling. Reports surfaced recently that Jordynne Grace was not under contract as she was believed to be. According to a report from PW Insider, while Grace’s signing with the promotion was announced in October, she never actually signed the papers given to her.

Grace is now confirming on Twitter that despite receiving other offers during her free agency period, she has opted to agree to terms with Impact.

She would follow that Tweet up with the following a few hours later:

Impact Wrestling Release Requests

Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux are also said to have requested their releases recently. Neither has been granted their release as of this writing, however.

Update: An earlier version of this article stated Bordeaux’s contract was up later this summer (as was reported via PW Insider). Impact Wrestling has since reached out to media to say Bordeaux is in the middle of a multi-year deal with the promotion.

Kross reportedly asked for more money and the two sides have not been able to work out a deal.

Impact Wrestling Issues Apology Over Pursuit Broadcast

While Impact Wrestling’s broadcast on Twitch this Friday went without complaint, the broadcast on Pursuit evidently was not as lucky in some areas. The Pursuit channel failed to return to Impact after what was supposed to be the final commercial break of the evening. Fans were treated to nearly 30 minutes of commercials rather than the headlining match of Michael Elgin vs Rich Swann.

Impact issued the following apology in response:

Scarlett Bordeaux Asks For Release From Impact, Jordynne Grace Never Signed Contract?

Scarlett Bordeaux is looking to obtain a release from her Impact Wrestling contract and it appears Jordynne Grace may have never signed hers. According to a report from PW Insider, Bordeaux asked for her release recently and although Grace was reported to have agreed to a multi-year deal with the promotion, she didn’t actually sign the papers.

Scarlett Bordeaux Requests Release From Impact Wrestling

Bordeaux is said to be paid per appearance. She is not expected to re-sign. As of this writing, her release has not been granted.

“Update: An earlier version of this article stated Bordeaux’s contract was up later this summer (as was reported via PW Insider). Impact Wrestling has since reached out to media to say Bordeaux is in the middle of a multi-year deal with the promotion.”

Jordynne Grace Not Under Contract To Impact Wrestling?

Grace’s situation is somewhat unclear. It was reported in October of last year that Grace had signed a multi-year deal with Impact. Now it appears she is not under contract with the promotion at all as she had never actually signed or returned her part of the contract. The promotion is said to be trying to sign her at the moment.

Earlier this year, Grace explained her decision to “sign” with Impact:

“(I’ve) never been contacted by the WWE besides for extra work, and there was something weird about the Mae Young Classic which I’m sure you’ll ask me about in a second too,” Grace said. “Ring Of Honor — I don’t know if you know my husband Jonathan Gresham, he is signed to Ring Of Honor, he’s been signed there for 2 years. I don’t know. Honestly, I have no idea. I went to tryouts, did all that stuff but I guess there was no interest in me and IMPACT was the first ones that reached out to me with a plan.”

Killer Kross Requests Release From Impact Wrestling

Killer Kross is said to have also requested his release from Impact Wrestling recently. He is believed to have requested a raise in pay which was not granted. His release has not been granted either and Kross is expected to remain with the promotion.

6 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 5/17

Impact Wrestling last night emanated from the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. The company is building towards their next PPV, Slammiversary on July 7th from Dallas.

Here are 6 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 5/17:

Johnny Impact Rescued Michael Elgin

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aRZRDSxCaKM

Elgin attempted to end the career of Rich Swann this week. The #1 Contender to Brian Cage’s world title delivered 3 powerbombs to Swann into the steel post during the night’s main event. The referee ended up disqualifying Elgin and then quickly ran away from the ring area. Elgin would continue the beatdown after the match. He had assaulted Willie Mack in the back earlier in the night as well. Mack would end up making the save before Elgin could deliver even further damage to Swann.

Just when Mack looked as though he was going to get his revenge on Elgin, Johnny Impact came out and attacked Mack and Swann.

Earlier in the show, fans were given a medical update on World Champion Brian Cage’s condition as well. Cage’s injury is being attributed to the post-match beatdown he received at the hands of Michael Elgin at Rebellion. Doctors advised they are not sure when or if Cage will be able to return.

Rosemary Abducted Su Yung

Su Yung and Rosemary met in a Demon Dog Collar match this week. In a match which involved both competitors attempting to use the poison mist (perhaps in anticipation of the Great Muta being brought in for a “Night You Can’t Mist”), Rosemary got the win after a spear.

Much like she did after defeating an Undead Maid of Honor, Rosemary abducted her opponent following the match.

Killer Kross Defeated Eddie Edwards

Kross stuck his thumb in the eye of Edwards as this match approached its final moments. Edwards has had issues with that eye, having had his orbital bone broken last year in a match with Sami Callihan.

Edwards then brought Kenny the kendo stick into the ring but when the referee attempted to take it away from him, Kross hit a Doomsday Saito suplex and got the win.

Following the match, Kross tied Edwards up in the ropes and looked as though he was going to hit him with the kendo stick. Edwards acted like he wanted Kross to do it too but Kross ended up breaking Kenny the kendo stick instead, leading Edwards to collapse into despair over the loss. The kendo stick had originally been given to Edwards at Slammiversary last year by Tommy Dreamer.

The Rascalz Train Vigorously For Tag Team Title Shot

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dBPGzcAOk6o

The Rascalz have an upcoming tag team title match against LAX. They decided this week it would be a good idea to train for the match with an overly dramatic montage sequence. It was fitting considering they were in Rocky Balboa’s hometown this week.

Madman Fulton Wins A Squash

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ePKo3hl2d1U

The newest member of OVE won a squash match this week. Madman Fulton walked to the ring with Sami Callihan perched on his shoulders. He then proceeded to annihilate Randy Shawn.

Glenn Gilbertti Wins Knockouts Battle Royal

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Y6t05Zq3Ik

The former Disco Inferno has been insulting women’s wrestling as of late. On Impact Wrestling this week, he took things a step further. Gilbertti hid at the commentary table for most of the match before re-entering it near the end. He delivered a clothesline to Tessa Blanchard (who assumed she had won after eliminating Kiera Hogan) and then eliminated her.

Quick Results:

  1. Glenn Gilbertti wins Battle Royal
  2. Demon Dog Collar Match: Rosemary defeated Su Yung
  3. Madman Fulton defeated Randy Shawn
  4. Rich Swann defeated Michael Elgin via DQ

Next Week:

  • Rob Van Dam vs Tommy Dreamer
  • Knockouts Championship: Taya Valkyrie (c) vs Madison Rayne
  • Sami Callihan vs Fallah Bah
  • Tag Team Championship: LAX (c) vs the North

Taya Valkyrie On Possibly Defending The Knockouts Championship Against Men

While WWE backed down from the idea of intergender wrestling, Impact Wrestling has embraced the concept and the company has put on some great intergender matches in recent times.

What we haven’t seen in a while is titles being defended in such kind of matches but latest comments from a current Impact Champion suggests that this situation might change in near future.

The current Impact Knockouts champion Taya Valkyrie was asked about possibly defending her title against men in a recent interview with WrestlingInc, and she said that she has zero problems doing it:

“Absolutely, I have zero problems doing it, if you look back at the history of the Triple A women’s title; it has also been put on the line against men in the past. So I don’t understand why the Knockouts Title couldn’t be doing that too.”

Continuing on the topic, Taya said that everyone knows that she has faced many men in the ring before in Lucha Underground and she has absolutely no problem doing it in Impact.

Apart from this, Taya Valkyrie also talked about her husband Johnny Impact’s recent title loss against Brian Cage, being prepared to face any knockout from the division and more.

Killer Kross Has Asked For Impact Wrestling Release

Killer Kross has asked for his release from Impact Wrestling due to unhappiness over creative and pay.

On Monday, Pwinsider.com reported that Kross has been unhappy with the current multi-year deal he signed with the company since a year ago and requested a raise in pay that is based on what his market value could be outside of Impact.

While the major issue has been on the money side, he did raise some concerns about how he is being used from a creative standpoint. He reportedly pushed for a six-figure guaranteed deal that would bring him far more than he was currently making working for Impact.

The promotion countered with an offer for a new, restructured three-year deal but that money offered was well below the six-figure per year deal. His current deal calls for him to be paid by each date he works but he wanted a more guaranteed deal that would pay him a base salary.

Kross turned down the new deal and asked for his release a week ago in order to explore his options elsewhere. It was noted that after he had a tryout with WWE in the past, the company is interested in him.

Kross’ request for a release has not been granted and that Impact has no current plans to offer him a release. He signed with Impact in 2018. Relations between the two sides remain professional.

8 Takeaways From Impact Wrestling 5/10

Impact Wrestling 5/10 was the 2nd episode taped the night after Rebellion in Toronto’s Rebel Nightclub. An 8-Man street fight featuring OVE against Tommy Dreamer, Rich Swann, Fallah Bah, and Willie Mack would headline the show.

Here are 8 takeaways from Impact Wrestling 5/10:

Rob Van Dam Defeated Ethan Page

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUihBwmAn70
  • RVD defeated Ethan Page

Rob Van Dam took on and defeated Ethan Page last night on Impact Wrestling. The match had been set-up by Page confronting RVD last week.

I was at the tapings live and Rob Van Dam got the biggest reaction of the night. Ethan Page and Josh Alexander are really popular in Toronto as well but Rob Van Dam was clearly the featured act of the night.

OVE Stand Tall To End The Show

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z1_ZS4nVL-Y
  • OVE defeated Willie Mack, Rich Swann, Tommy Dreamer, & Fallah Bah

Last night’s main event was a street fight between OVE against Tommy Dreamer, Willie Mack, Rich Swann, and Fallah Bah.

OVE is perhaps at the strongest it has ever been ever since Sami Callihan added Madman Fulton into the group. They were able to pick up the win in a plunder-filled main event after Callihan gave Willie Mack a “Cactus Special” piledriver onto a pile of lego.

LAX and the Rascalz Hang Out

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rHSLw6NnBkQ

LAX and the Rascalz spent some time hanging out in the Rascalz clubhouse this week. Trey, Wentz, and Dez had some trouble keeping up with what they were drinking, however.

Madison Rayne Gets Non-Title Win Over Taya Valkyrie

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ggr1U64ZTWo
  • Madison Rayne defeated Taya Valkyrie – Non Title

Taya refused to defend her title in this match against Madison Rayne. Valkyrie explained she only has to defend her title once every 30 days and was not willing to put the belt on the line in this match.

Valkyrie then submitted rather easily to a single-leg crab. The victory likely means Madison Rayne will receive a title match sometime in the near future.

Tessa Blanchard was on commentary and stated her belief that Rayne deserves a title shot and Valkyrie took the easy way out of the match.

Kiera Hogan Says Rosemary Can “Die Like Allie”

Kiera Hogan cut a backstage promo this week. Hogan abandoned Rosemary last week as she was being attacked by Su Yung and her minions. This week, Kiera Hogan told Melissa Santos and Jordynne Grace that she doesn’t need friends and that Rosemary can “die like Allie” for all she cares.

The Desi-Hit Squad Pull Out A Win!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsattab7hM0
  • The Desi Hit Squad defeated the Deaners, Aiden Prince & Brent Banks, and the Rascalz

The Great Gama Singh’s tag-team faction doesn’t have the greatest win/loss record in the promotion. They pulled out a big win in a 4-team match this week, however. Rohit Raju picked up the win for his team with a roll-up and a handful of trunks.

The win for the Desi Hit Squad probably earns them a match against a highly ranked team in the division.

LAX Win Non-Title Match Against Josh Alexander & Moose

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIgYBZD23dY
  • LAX defeated Josh Alexander & Moose

It’s not clear if Moose is an official member of the North or not. He wears Red and Gold and teams with them frequently but he is not technically Canadian. He is named Moose, however, an iconic Canadian animal.

Regardless, LAX picked up the win over Alexander and Moose this week.

Jordynne Grace Back In The Win Column

  • Jordynne Grace defeated Alexia Nicole

Jordynne Grace dropped a Knockouts title match to Taya Valkyrie at Rebellion but she got back in the win column tonight. Grace used her power to get the win over local indy wrestler, Alexia Nicole.

Quick Results:

  • LAX defeated Moose & Josh Alexander – Non Title
  • Madison Rayne defeated Taya Valkyrie – Non Title
  • Jordynne Grace defeated Alexia Nicole
  • Rob Van Dam defeated Ethan Page
  • Sami Callihan, Madman Fulton, & the Crist Brothers (OVE) defeated Rich Swann, Willie Mack, Fallah Bah & Tommy Dreamer

Next Week:

  • Demon Collar Match: Rosemary vs Su Yung
  • Killer Kross vs Eddie Edwards
