Jim Cornette Returns To GFW, Announces GFW Title Gauntlet

On tonight’s Destination X, Bruce Prichard addressed the crowd about the situation with the GFW Championship. Prichard claimed that Alberto El Patron voluntarily vacated the title and that he now planned to give the title to Bobby Lashley.

Jim Cornette arrived and stated that he had other plans. Cornette claimed that he got a call from Anthem and he was asked to help fix Global Force Wrestling. Cornette then fired Prichard, who was then escorted out of the ring by security.

Cornette once again said that Anthem wanted to make things right and claimed that El Patron was stripped of the title and that he did not relinquish it.

Cornette announced that their will be a 20-man Gauntlet match next week to determine the next GFW Champion. LAX approached Cornette as he was about to leave. Low Ki said that there should already be a #1 contender and threatened Cornette. Low Ki will be 20th in the Gauntlet match.

Gail Kim On Vince McMahon Not Liking Women’s Wrestling, Her Career Winding Down

Gail Kim spoke to Brian Fritz of Sporting News and below are some highlights from the interview:

Vince McMahon not liking women’s wrestling:

My honest opinion, and this is only my opinion and I don’t know this as fact, I just think Vince McMahon did not like women’s wrestling. With this whole revolution that happened in WWE these past couple of years, it’s because of the fans. Remember they were saying  “Give Divas a Chance” that it got to the point where Vince is like OK, I’m going to give them a chance. It was really truly Hunter (Triple H) who created all these great girls in NXT. It wasn’t Vince. It’s almost like, thank God Hunter did it so that Vince could see the reaction that these girls were getting in NXT. Then it was OK, let’s jump on the bandwagon and let’s make it happen. I think he was never a fan of women’s wrestling whether he had talented girls or not and he didn’t want to watch that.

Being involved backstage after her in-ring career is over at the end of 2017:

We’ve already started that process and I’m going to continue with that. (She now works in a behind the scenes role as an agent for the women’s division.) I love helping the girls. I want to help rebuild this division to where it has the potential to go. I’m very invested, I’m very dedicated and passionate about the division and the company.

On taking a moment to pause before her matches:

Not with the taping schedule we have. (laughs) It’s very overwhelming so when I’m at work, I’m kind of running around like a chicken with its head cut off. But I think, for my last match when it starts coming near the very, very end, I definitely will. Who knows how I will react that last match. I just don’t know.

Da Pope Announces His Departure From GFW

Global Force commentator “Da Pope” D’Angelo Dinero announced on social media that he is leaving the company. He’s since updated his Twitter name to Elijah Burke (his former WWE persona) and his bio now reads, “Former WWE Superstar and Impact Wrestling Commentator.”

Dinero joined TNA Wrestling as an active competitor back in 2009. He left in 2013 but later returned in 2015 as a color commentator.

He wrote on Instagram, “The clock is ticking, never standing still, yet memories will come, in floods they will. This was no surprise as things began to click, when negotiations stalled because of arithmetics. In arriving hello is easy to say, in departing it’s different as some will sway. But no not me as I look towards the sky, for there’s a reason I’ve always walked with my head held high. Although the past will come trickling around and through, the future is bright with much things for me to do. So thanks to my friends and staff who showed me goodwill, because those memories are the only moments that makes the clock stand still.” ~PHS

Bobby Lashley On Alberto El Patron Being Stripped Of GFW World Title, Wrestling Kurt Angle, More

Bobby Lashley recently took part in a media conference to promote Thursday’s GFW Destination X special on Pop TV. Lashley talked about various topics including wrestling WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle in his final TNA match and Alberto El Patron being stripped of the GFW World Championship. Here are the highlights:

Wrestling Kurt Angle in his final match in TNA:

“I’ve done a lot of things in wrestling – big pay-per-views all across the world, from WrestleMania to everything else – but I put that match all the way at the top. Not at the top of everything, but I think it’s my top two or three. Reason being, I’ve always looked up to Kurt. I was watching him when I was in high school wrestling and Kurt was winning nationals in college.

When I went to college and was winning national championships, Kurt was winning the World and Olympic championships. I just kind of followed him all the way up. Afterwards, when I was at the Olympic training center, Kurt came to there to do a vignette and Kurt is the one that found me. He said, ‘You ever think about professional wrestling?’ We talked for a little bit and I passed my number on. The rest is history. He’s the one that got me into professional wrestling.

For 12 years I was in pro wrestling, Kurt and I never crossed paths. When I went to WWE, he went to TNA, when I went to TNA, he stepped out and was fighting, he came back and I was out and then I finally came back. This whole time he mentored me along the way, we would always talk to me on the phone and we’d talk about different matches and what to do and he’d just help me out with the politics of wrestling. Actually having an opportunity to wrestle him, towards the end, that was the one thing that I was pulling for so hard. I was telling them ‘if Kurt is getting ready to retire, you gotta get me in the ring with him.’ It was incredible. We had two big matches in each time it was like you were in the ring with your teacher. I like Kurt’s style, I mimic Kurt’s style to a certain extent so to me it was amazing.”

GFW suspending Alberto El Patron and stripping him of the World Championship:

“If we go out there and do something we have to hold ourselves accountable for the things that we do. The company has to do what they have to do. It’s an unfortunate situation. I don’t know all of the details because I try to stay out of that. My business and my contract says for me to be a performer and do that part, not to do any of the backstage or office stuff. The one thing I do know is, who needs the title? That’s me. Give me my title back. I could care less what’s going on with him. I’m just here to compete and now there’s an open title. That’s what I’m focussed on.”

GFW Star Reveals Why He Rejected An Offer From WWE

Last year when WWE was hiring several former TNA performers amidst the company’s financial crisis, there were still some stars who decided to remain with the company through its most uncertain times. One such star who made the decision to return to the company now known as GFW despite having an offer from WWE is the Indo-American professional wrestler Sonjay Dutt.

During his recent Interview with Wrestlinginc, Dutt spoke up about his decision to choose GFW over WWE and revealed the reason behind his move.

According to the GFW star, he has to put his family first while making any serious decisions in his life and it was also an important reason behind it among other things:

“A lot of factors played into that, I’m 35, I’ve got a wife, I’ve got two kids and I’ve got a family that I have to put first before my decisions in life. That took a good chunk of the decision-making process, what is best for them. You know, uprooting my family and two young children, that was a huge part of it.”

In previous interviews, Dutt has also mentioned that his relationship with the GFW founder Jeff Jarret was also a reason for his GFW return.

It’s worth noting here that Sonjay Dutt worked as a guest trainer at WWE Performance Centre last year and he was later offered a contract by the company.

Though he rejected the offer and signed with GFW as a full-time producer instead. He later also made his in ring return for the company and became the X-Division Champion for the first time during the recent GFW tour of India.

GFW Hyping World Title Announcement On Impact

Global Force Wrestling is hyping a “monumental champion announcement” by Bruce Prichard on Thursday’s live “Destination X” edition of Impact Wrestling.

On Monday, GFW announced that the World Championship has been vacated as a result of Alberto El Patron’s recent legal troubles. Later in the day, Alberto issued a statement claiming it was his idea to relinquish the title in light of the “scandal.”

With GFW stripping Alberto El Patron of the World Title, the company is now teasing a major announcement for this Thursday’s edition of Impact Wrestling:

“We have just learned that this Thursday, LIVE on IMPACT Presented by GFW, at Destination X, Bruce Prichard will makea Championship Announcement that will rock GFW and IMPACT to it’s very core.

IMPACTWrestling.com has reached out to Bruce for comment and Bruce informed us he will not say anything about this until he is in Orlando LIVE at Destination X.

Don’t miss IMPACT this week to find out what Bruce Prichard will have to say about the future of the World Title.”

Former GFW Star Reveals How WWE Pissed Him Off

Knowing Mr McMahon’s love for tall guys, many believe that former GFW/TNA star Matt Morgan could have been a big Star in WWE if he would have worked with the company for long enough.

While The 7 footer did have a stint with WWE from 2002 to 2005 and became the OVW Champion multiple times too, he couldn’t achieve much in the main roster and was released from the company after having multiple gimmick changes.

During his appearance on the Sitting Ringside with David Penzer podcast, the former GFW star talked about his WWE release and revealed that Officials actually wanted him to go to NJPW and work there for sometimes before returning to the company.

However, Matt decided to leave New Japan and join TNA instead. According to him, he took this decision because he got really bitter and pissed off on WWE:

“WWE sets me up to go to New Japan, got paid really well, but I got really bitter and pissed off. I then decide, you know what? I’m going to shove this up their ass and go to TNA and be ‘The Blueprint’ Matt Morgan and show them exactly what they missed out on.”

Morgan recently left GFW because the Brand wanted to start touring again soon and he apparently couldn’t do it because of his 9 to 5 job.

While Matt Morgan did win multiple Championships in TNA, he was never considered to be a Main Event talent for the company and he never won any singles title in the promotion either. One could only imagine how different his career would have been if he had stayed with NJPW and later returned to WWE.

Alberto El Patron Claims He Asked To Be Stripped Of The GFW Title

We noted before how Alberto El Patron was surprisingly stripped of the GFW World Heavyweight Championship despite no longer being a suspect in the infamous airport incident anymore, though now it appears the whole thing is only the start of a new controversy.

After the news of the suspension broke out, El Patron took on his Instagram account to offer his comments on being stripped and he made some shocking claims while doing so.

According to Alberto, it was actually his idea to strip him of the title and he suggested it just to show that the company doesn’t have any favourites and everybody is treated equally:

“My company Impact and I have come to an agreement that it’s best for both parties if I be stripped from the championships. I came up with the suggestion just to show that Impact doesn’t have favorites and everyone gets treated the same. “
https://www.instagram.com/p/BXyrTz1AqIc/

As previously mentioned, the official statement sent out by GFW stated that they are taking the title away from the former WWE Star because they are “disappointed with the manner” in which he dealt with the situation.

As of writing, Alberto El Patron is still suspended by the company and if he is not reinstated soon, he will be forced to miss the upcoming Impact tapings starting from 17th August.

If it happens GFW Officials will be forced to make major changes to their plans and they will have to come up with a completely new direction for their World title.

The only good news in all of this for the company is that former WWE Star John Morrison is expected to debut on Impact very soon and he is very much capable of filling the shoes of the former GFW World Champion.

Alberto El Patron Stripped Of GFW Championship

Global Force Wrestling provided an update on Alberto El Patron’s suspension on Monday. As a result of the airport incident with Paige from last month (and other backstage incidents, the details of some which have not been publicized), Alberto has been stripped of the GFW World Championship.

Here’s the official statement:

“GFW has concluded its internal consideration of the events surrounding the suspension of Alberto El Patron. While it is apparent that initial reports unfairly characterized El Patron’s involvement in the incident in the Orlando airport, we are nonetheless disappointed with the manor in which he dealt with this situation; we expect more decorum from all on the GFW roster, especially the World Champion.

We have communicated with El Patron our decision to strip him of his championship title. No decision has been taken as to the date on which he will be reinstated to the roster, the conditions of which are a private matter between the company and El Patron.”

GFW presents a live ‘Destination X’ edition of Impact Wrestling on Thursday. This weekend, the company will tape nearly 3 months of television, so a resolution to this matter was expected this week.

In light of the news, former TNA World Champion Bobby Lashley is already staking his claim to the vacant GFW title.

Former Knockouts Champion Leaves Global Force Wrestling

Angelina Love is gone from Global Force Wrestling.

The former Knockouts Champion announced via Twitter that she requested her release from GFW and it was granted today.

This comes after GFW granted her husband, Davey Richards, his release last month so that he could pursue a medical career.

One of the founding members of the Knockouts division, Angelina started with the company in 2007. She would go on to form The Beautiful People with Velvet Sky and hold the Knockouts Championship a record-tying six times (along with Gail Kim). In January, she returned to the company for her fifth stint by aligning herself with Richards in a feud with Eddie and Alisha Edwards. The feud ended last month at Slammiversary XV, with Eddie and Alisha beating Davey and Angelina in a Full Metal Mayhem Match.

Potential Spoiler On A Former WWE Star Debuting On Impact Wrestling

It looks like John Hennigan (aka John Morrison and Johnny Mundo) will debut on Impact Wrestling in the near future.

The former WWE Superstar was scheduled to appear at StocktonCon 2017, an annual pop culture convention taking place on August 19 and 20 at the Stockton Arena in Stockton, California. However, due to his contractual agreement with Global Force Wrestling, he is now unable to attend the event.

StocktonCon made the announcement earlier this week on Twitter.

It was then announced that Melina Perez, Hennigan’s ex-girlfriend, will appear at StocktonCon 2017.

StocktonCon 2017 coincides with GFW’s next set of Impact Wrestling tapings, which takes place August 17 through August 20 at Universal Studios Florida in Orlando.

Hennigan appeared for GFW last weekend at non-televised live events in the Tri-state area. In his debut on August 5, he teamed with James Storm and Moose to defeat Ethan Carter III, Lashley, and Eli Drake in Staten Island, New York. He teamed with Storm and Moose again the following day in Bridgeport, Connecticut, beating Carter, Lashley and Low Ki.

Updates On Rey Mysterio’s Status And Where He Could Be Headed Next

In the past couple of months, we have heard many rumours about Rey Mysterio’s future and it was reported by multiple sources that he was in talks with WWE.

However, recently it was revealed that the talks between Mysterio and WWE have broken down and the High Flyer will not be returning to the company he called home for well over a decade.

Now the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has explained how events occurred and why things didn’t work out between the two parties.

According to the Newsletter, things were overblown from the start as the talks between WWE and the Mexican Star never reached a serious stage. Apparently, when the news of Mysterio possibly returning to WWE came, he was actually talking to GFW.

As we noted before, the deal breaker on WWE’s part was his representative Konnan whom Vince McMahon apparently has a grudge with. On the other hand, Rey’s reason for not signing with WWE was their tight schedule.

It’s been said that at this stage of his career, the former World Champion is looking to work a lighter schedule where he could also work on side projects, which would not have been possible in WWE.

Regarding his future, it’s being said that he is expected to receive a significant offer from GFW soon and it’s most likely the next destination of the High Flying Star.

Though it’s worth noting that Rey Mysterio has a non-compete clause due to which he won’t be able to work for GFW for at least 90 days after the current season of Lucha Underground expires in September.

Brandi Rhodes Explains Why She Departed From GFW

Former WWE ring announcer and GFW wrestler Brandi Rhodes recently spoke with Chuck Carroll of CBS Sports to talk about her exit from Global Force Wrestling, some of the disappointments she had while in WWE and more. Here are the highlights:

Departing from Global Force Wrestling:

“Unfortunately, that story is kind of a mess. There are some valid statements that I’ve seen, but it’s really not as dramatic as people want it to be. Basically, Cody and I were very candid with what we were doing after WWE as far as contracts go. People are confused. I never signed the contract that people think I signed with Global Force stating that they got percentages. What I did sign was a tentative contract with Impact Wrestling when they were still Impact. That contract had a clause for me, because I was already working on some stuff in other areas of television. That clause basically said that if something else in television were to happen for me, they can’t be uncooperative. And if they were uncooperative, we would be able to part ways. And that is honestly what happened. So, I am filming something awesome in Atlanta, but I can’t say what it is.”

WWE turning her into a ring announcer:

“Yes, and no. I really enjoyed ring announcing and had a lot of fun with that. I had many different ways to challenge myself with that and make it fun and interesting. But when you’ve been an athlete and used to being a physical person, sometimes that takes over. And you’re kind of like, ‘Okay, when am I going to get my chance to do my thing?’

While I was announcing I was the same person I am now, who was in the gym, eating right and doing all of these things. Being physical [is] something I’ve always done. I figure skated for 17 years on a highly competitive level. So, sitting down and watching other people compete is a difficult thing for me. … I felt like there was potential for more, and I did try. People have seen some of the backstage shoots with myself and Cody doing these different characters. It would have been so much fun. Just not being able to get there got a little frustrating. Being able to do all of the stuff now, it’s so much fun and confirms for me I was able to do more, and I was ready to do more.”

Rhodes also talked about her tribute to Dusty Rhodes in Ring of Honor and more. You can read the entire interview here.

Bobby Lashley On Working With Donald Trump At WrestleMania, GFW Changes

Bobby Lashley recently spoke with Jay Reddick of The Orlando Sentinel to promote next week’s GFW Destination X special on Pop TV. Lashley talked about various topics including working with Donald Trump at WrestleMania 23 in 2007, the recent changes with GFW and more. Here are the highlights:

The recent changes with GFW:

“We’re at that place where every company is when there’s a change in regime. There’s always a little bump and a backstep, then you move forward. I don’t want to say things are bad because I’m not a pessimist. We needed the change. There are a lot of insecurities, but at this point, I trust the decisions that are being made.”

Working with Donald Trump at WrestleMania 23:

“I think a lot of people want me to say he was arrogant and pushed his weight around, but I can’t. The first time we met, he just came over, introduced himself, shook my hand and said ‘It looks like we’ll be working together.’ Then we just joked around and he introduced me to his family and his kids. We only worked together a handful of times, but he was cool. He never tried to take over. He was all about ‘How can we make this great? How can I help make this better?’ He joked with me that when this was over, I’d be recognized by all the girls in Times Square – and he did what he said.”

Lashley also talked about wrestling Matt Sydal at Destination X and more. You can read the full interview here.

Cody Rhodes Explains Why His Run In GFW Was Short

Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Champion Cody Rhodes recently spoke with FanBuzz.com to talk about various topics including his departure from WWE, success in NJPW and more. You can check out the highlights right here:

The reason he didn’t tell Goldust about leaving WWE:

“He didn’t hear about it. I didn’t really share it with him, I don’t know why. He found out like everyone else did that day,” Rhodes said. “That was a decision where I can’t stay with WWE because you guys are honoring my dad so much. I’m an individual myself. I love my dad, but if I stay here because you guys are honoring his legacy, yet you don’t honor me and honor my hard work, then I can tell you the number one person who would be pissed off would be my dad.”

His short time in GFW:

“Brandi was watching Maria and Mike (Bennett) on Pop and she wanted to go. I didn’t have any plans to go, but I thought I could absolutely try to help make that happen. I didn’t have a bad outing at all or a single complaint. I do think it was a bit misleading to fans whereas I had only signed on to do 3-4 dates and I didn’t re-sign — I would have made everyone aware if I had re-signed. So it was a little misleading because I think they made it seem like I was part of the roster and I really wasn’t, I was just dropping in and saying hello on occasion,” Rhodes said.

“They let me do that, so I respect Impact for letting me do that. I really liked Dixie (Carter), really liked Billy (Corgan), really liked Jeff and Karen (Jarrett). No complaints.”

Rhodes also talked about his goals for next year and more. You can read the entire interview here.

GFW Knockouts Champ Calls Out Charlotte For Copying Her

GFW Knockouts Champion Sienna has called out SmackDown Live Superstar Charlotte for allegedly copying her look and mannerisms. Sienna is accusing Charlotte of ‘borrowing’ her peacock feathers, make-up and holing up her pinky finger.

As of this writing, Charlotte hasn’t formally responded to Sienna’s claim, but did post this photo on Tuesday morning with the hashtag #TeaTime.

GFW Posts Video Of WWE Star Hyping PPV, Madison Rayne Update

– To promote AMPED Anthology, which will air as a four-part tournament style One Night Only pay-per-view series for Global Force Wrestling, beginning on August 11, the company posted this video of Brian Myers (aka WWE Superstar Curt Hawkins) on Saturday. He talks about what it would mean to win the Global Championship and even mentions his first WWE stint.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F43Lb-FY5c4

While GFW is presenting the video as if it’s recent, it was actually shot two years ago. After being released by WWE in 2014, Myers was wrestling independently when GFW filmed AMPED Anthology on July 24, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He then returned to WWE last summer.

– Madison Rayne, who recently parted ways with Global Force Wrestling, has launched a YouTube channel. In her latest video, she talks about what sparked her interest in professional wrestling.

Updates on Magnus & Brandi Rhodes Leaving GFW

Several performers have parted ways with Global Force Wrestling over the past several weeks, including former GFW Champion Magnus (Nick Aldis), Brandi Rhodes, Matt Morgan, Davey Richards, Madison Rayne, Al Snow and Shane Helms.

During a recent appearance on the Pancakes & Powerslams podcast, Magnus explained why he won’t be working with the company anymore. Magnus implies that GFW made him a low-ball offer that nobody with any value or sense of self-worth would sign.

“There was no release,” he said. “There was nothing like that. A contract was offered to me, which I declined. Anthem offered me a contract. I read the contract. It’s not something that, I’ll say this in the nicest way that I can, it’s not a contract that anyone with any value, any sense of self-value, or self-worth would sign. There’s no point in signing a contract to make you exclusive to one place if you’re not getting anything in return.”

Brandi Rhodes, wife of Ring of Honor Champion Cody Rhodes, left because she is working on a new non-wrestling television show based out of Atlanta and GFW wasn’t being cooperative about the situation. She recently made her first in-ring appearance for Ring of Honor and will continue to work the independent scene.

In honor of the late “American Dream” Dusty Rhodes, her new ring attire features yellow polkadots. In a new blog post at her official website, Brandi explained the thought behind her new ring gear.

“I have never ever received so much positive energy towards anything I’ve ever worn in my entire life. Fashion is a passion of mine, for sure.  But the dots make people feel good. They make people remember. They start conversations and encourage fans to tell me their favorite Dusty stories and moments. It’s really surreal and it helps people come together and enjoy themselves that much more.”

Al Snow Talks About His 7 Years With TNA/GFW, Training Talent, His Clothing Line

Wrestling legend Al Snow was a recent guest on Interactive Wrestling Radio and spoke to host James Walsh about his 7 year run working as an agent for  TNA/Global Force Wrestling, the company’s darker times, his love for wrestling, training young talent and much more. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

His time working as an agent for TNA/GFW and his departure back in June:

“Yeah, I’m certain it was a budget thing. Jeff brought his own group, his own guys that he brought with him and there are only so many spots financially and budget wise that you can afford to have as far as producers. And, have a necessity and need for to produce the segments. It was myself and 2 other guys and he had brought in his own group. Somebody had to go! That’s just how it works. I had a great run there. It lasted MUCH longer than I expected. I have no complaints whatsoever. I wish them nothing but the best. I hope they strive and succeed and be a real force in wrestling. Hopefully, someday, I can come back and do business again.”

“In life, especially in wrestling, it isn’t a matter of if it will end. It is a matter of when it will end. You go into it knowing that. You’re going to have a run, you’re going to finish up, and you’re going to leave the territory. That’s an inevitability. You can’t get around it. Things change and then you move on.”

Internet negativity towards TNA affecting morale backstage:

“Of course it was felt backstage. I’m not giving lip service. Even if I still worked for GFW, TNA, Impact… I’d still state what the facts are. The facts are that everybody knew there were issues or factors that would occur or come up. But, i’ve got to tell you, one of the things that impressed me so much is that everybody there, and I do mean everybody there, worked so hard on that show. From the in ring talent to the production team to the camera crew to the office staff… I mean, you’ve got to think. They put on a comparable product to the WWE with not even a third of the budget, not even a third of the roster, not even an eighth of the resources, not even an eighth of the office staff, not even an eighth of the production staff… ”

His ‘love affair’ with pro wrestling:

“Oh God, I love wrestling! I’ve been so blessed to get to do what I’ve been able to do for so long. It is probably the most awesome thing that anyone could do. I’m not just saying that. I really love wrestling. I’ve had a love affair with it for 35 years. Every chance I get in the ring, no matter if it is in front of 10 people or 10,000 people, I love every minute of it!”

His new clothing line, COLLARxELBOW:

“Collar and Elbow, I started an apparel line for fans of wrestling because, you know, I’m a wrestler but really I’m just a fan… A fan of wrestling. And, wrestling of all styles. I generally just love wrestling. It is such a great backdrop to tell such incredible stories no matter the style or the form that helps mesh with the audience emotionally. It’s the purest competition there is. One person against another person. I started Collar and Elbow to kind of represent that. I also wanted to… To be selfish. I got a shirt from a supplement company that has to be the most comfortable shirt I’ve ever gotten. It is soft… The company went out of business but I don’t care! I still wear it. So, I said when I start a company, I want to make shirts like that… And, so, I have! Shirts people will genuinely enjoy wearing.”

CollarAndElbowBrand.com

His Al Snow’s Wrestling Academy network:

“It is still very much a thing. I have a school in London, England. But, I also have one in Cheshire, the Midlands, Romania, Denmark, Greece, Chili, and I’m working on one in Italy. My long-term goal is to create a network of acadamies that philisopically all teach the same way. I supply a syllabus. By creating a network, a talent from lets say England… They are going to learn, they are going to evolve, they’re going to grow to a certain level but then they are only able to go so far because they’re only able to get so much of that kind of experience. By creating this network, a student in London could contact a school in Purtugal and be confident that philosophically, it’s all the same. Then, they can travel there, work their shows, and get a whole different variety of experience. Then, if they ever get an opportunity with a national or international product company like WWE or GFW, TNA, Impact… They will have a polish that will help them fully take advantage of that opportunity.”

If he would work with WWE on another season of Tough Enough:

“Certainly! I loved being a part of Tough Enough. I’ve got to tell you, I think it is one of the greatest things I think I’ve ever done in my career. It was such a pleasure. if I’m remembered for only 1 thing, I hope I’m remembered for Tough Enough.”

James Storm On Why He Signed With Global Force Wrestling Over WWE, What Triple H Told Him

Global Force Wrestling’s James Storm recently spoke with Brian Fritz of Sporting News and below are some highlights from the interview:

Why he chose to not sign with WWE NXT:

“With the schedule of NXT and [Triple H] was telling me we’re going to try and run 100-120 shows from here on out throughout the year and stuff. It’s all great and everything but where I was, personally, in my life, I couldn’t be on the road that much because I had some family problems, my wife wanted to have another kid. So, it was one of those things where it wasn’t the right timing for me.”

What Triple H told him when he left NXT:

“Hunter straight up told me, ‘Go get your life together. This is my number. Maybe in two years, we can do business again.’”

The benefit of Global Force Wrestling going on the road again:

“It’s really hard to judge who’s over and who’s not. I think with us getting back on the road, it will show management we need to push this guy because he’s really over or we should do something with this guy. It also helps younger talent learn how to work. Not just go out and do all these moves but to learn to work.”

On being ready to do whatever GFW management asks of him:

“Now in my career, it doesn’t matter to me who is running what because I’m the guy now, I show up and do what’s asked of me,” Storm said. “I don’t try to argue why and stuff. I know my role. To me, it’s a physical play — professional wrestling. I didn’t sign up to be the writer. I signed up to be the wrestler. Whatever the writer wants me to do now, I don’t show up and try to b— and say ‘I want to do this’ or ‘My character wouldn’t do that’. That’s not what I signed up for. I signed up to go out and do what they asked me to do and that’s what I do now.”

Alberto El Patron GFW Suspension Update, Eva Marie On Her Future

Eva Marie on her future

Eva Marie posted the following on Instagram after announcing that her time in WWE has come to an end:

“Today is a bittersweet day, as @WWE and I have agreed to part ways. It has been an incredible 4 years, and I am truly grateful to Vince, Paul, Stephanie and the entire WWE team. I would not be where I am today without their continued support.

There are such priceless moments from the past few years…everything from visiting our troops in Afghanistan to working alongside the Special Olympics. I couldn’t even begin to share them all here, but there’s no doubt – I will carry them with me into this exciting journey ahead.

Last but not least, thank YOU, my fans, for allowing me to live out a dream that I could have never imagined for myself. You are the reason I love to go to work, and that’s not changing anytime soon!

And finally…the hustle won’t stop! After shooting back to back films, more are coming and I can’t wait to share with you soon. #Love #AllRedEverythingForever”

Update On Brandi Rhodes’ GFW Status, Gail Kim Making Rare Indy Appearance, Sonjay Dutt

– Following a report that Brandi Rhodes is no longer listed by Global Force Wrestling as an active Knockout on its official website, it is now confirmed that she is no longer with the organization.

According to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Rhodes was recently released from her contract. It is not clear whether GFW opted to release her, or she asked to be let go.

A big reason for her departure is that she’s being filmed for a non-wrestling television show in Atlanta, Georgia and GFW weren’t cooperative about it. Rhodes debuted for Ring of Honor last Saturday and the promotion is more than willing to work with her on the show.

– In this video, GFW X Division Champion Sonjay Dutt talks about his journey through wrestling and what motivates him outside of it.
