He says he came to find zen and tranquility, instead he found despair and anger. He says Sony and Impact deserve each other because they’re just like the people out here. He says his name is EC3. He says he is the best guy here, the best guy there and in a country of 1.3 billion he is the best anywhere. He tells the translator to translate but he wouldn’t do so. EC3 says he shall be punished. He takes out his belt and whips the translator. Storm’s music hits and he runs in. EC3 tries to whip him but Storm kicks the belt off his hands. He is about to whip EC3 with it but he escapes. Storm brings the translator back in the ring and they pose to end the segment.

He did the bit where he spins around his opponents’ back and slaps his head to make him look stupid. Taunts to the crowd again. An arm drag and a dropkick shocks Josh and he kicks the ropes out of anger. He is pissed at Sandeep. He gains control of the match and hits a Swanton Bomb on him, followed by a Steiner Recliner for the submission win. Josh Mattgews wouldn’t let go of the hold and Mahabali Shera comes out. She tells Braxton to get that stupid look out of his face,he wears a beanie in India, it’s a 150 degrees. She said everyone thinks Allie is so innocent and pure. Tell her why Allie attacked her with a weapn for no reason? She says since Allie wants to act as a wrestler, she can be a wrestler. Allie and her pal Rosemary. She asks if Allie thinks Rosemary has a decent bone in her body. She says we’ll see if Rosemary even shows up.

– 10-man gauntlet for the Sony SIX invitational with a trophy at ringside: Over-the-top elimination with a new entrant every 90 seconds, until the final two when it’s pinfall or submission. Let me talk to ya” He says he thinks when he came to Impact Wrestling he has been fed BS, by the old regime and now with Bruce Prichard, nothing’s changed. Then he looks at this crosseyed halfwit with a title he doesn’t deserve. He says Moose knows he was defeated by Eli Drake. He says Moose got his nose so far up Bruce’s keister, he knows what curry he ate today. Moose says he’s not big on going back and forth. He tells the crowd if they want to see Moose and these two asses at Slammiversary, let him hear it. Moose chants. Eli Drake’s says “quite dummies”, they wanna go two on one. Chris Adonis warns Moose that he has Eli Drake and Eli has him. Moose says he has a partner but he will reveal him in due time.

He says he has been doing this for so many years in so many different countries, China, Mexico, Japan, India, winning titles in different companies, but there’s one title that he hasn’t won and we’re few weeks away from Slammiversary live on PPV and that’s the place where he promisrs he will be the undisputed Impact Wrestling Champion. Lashley’s music hits and he says he is sick and tired of how these fans are cheering for him. He says he ks gonna smarten Alberto up, he is the Impact Wrestling Champion and the realest wrestler in the business, he could take Alberto in the cage or even in the parking lot, he says Alberto is telling about winning titles around the world, he asks him if he thinks he’s the only person. Lashley says he has to go against another cheerleader, he says he knows Alberto comes from a rich wrestling family which he doesn’t care about, he says he is gonna bust his bubble at Slammiversary and when he does that Alberto can walk his ass back and he won’t be needed here. He says at Slammiversary it’s just you vs me, all the talking will be up. Bruce Prichard is out. He says he loves seeing two champ ready to fight. Bobby corrects him and says one champ. Bruce says he’s got one question: they want to defend their title tonight? They should both defend it tonight right here in India. As they get ready to fight, Bruce says not fight against each other, they’re gonna save it for Slammiversary, Alberto’s gonna defend the GFW Title and Bobby the Impact Wrestling Title. Bobby asks against whom. Alberto says how about Bruce cuts this bullshit and let him fight this bitch. Bruce warns if they lose they won’t go to Slammiversary. Alberto asks Bruce who’s it gonna be. Matt Sydal on if WWE Gives High-Flyers The Same Opportunities as Other Talents

Former WWE Superstar Matt Sydal (Evan Bourne) recently did an interview with Sportskeeda to talk about his time with the WWE. You can check out some of the highlights here:

Do you feel that high flyers in the WWE are not given the same opportunity, or that they’re unfairly put in the midcard?

“No, it’s different because I don’t care about TV time. I see wrestling very different from other people. Maybe according to certain people, I’ve heard that as a commonality. I’ll be honest; I never felt like I got a lack of time. Now they have their own TV show, and 205 Live didn’t come out of nowhere. It’s something WWE had been planning for ten years. You can’t just make the show appear like that.

“They work hard to feature all their wrestlers, and they’re trying to maximize the amount of money they can make out of everybody, which is what WWE does really well, and they’ve managed to turn that not only into their own feature, but they could possibly turn that into a brand which travels separately and earns WWE a fourth income. So it’s in the best interest that they feature the cruiserweights. But sometimes there are the iconic people like Conor McGregor and George St. Pierre. You need the Bryan Danielsons, and Nevilles and even the bigger guys. What I’m saying is that there’s no height or weight requirement to be an entertainer, and that’s something that Austin Aries taught me when I was very young, and it shows right now with these incredible, eye-catching performers, and it’s regardless of the height or weight, so that’s my take on that.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aC2Y-XnFkfs

What do you hope to achieve upon your return to Impact? Have you set any goals or are you taking it one step at a time?

“I do take it one step at a time, but I’m on my way to the path, and that path is leading me to my destiny. I’ve wanted to become X-Division Champion since I began wrestling. When that belt came out, it was MADE WITH MY NAME ON IT. That was the type of wrestling I wanted to embody. And I believe I’ve done that and carried the torch of the X-division even though I haven’t been in the X-division since it debuted. Now is my chance to get the crown!”

Impact President: WWE Not Interested In “Broken Matt” Gimmick

Impact Wrestling President Ed Nordholm was a recent guest on Live Audio Wrestling and spoke about the legal situation involving the Hardys and the rights to the “Broken Universe.” For all the back and forth we’ve seen on Twitter, Nordholm is very confident that he will prevail:

“I don’t believe I have ownership, I know I have ownership.”

Thanks to Live Audio Wrestling for sending in this recap:

A lot of people will want to know about the relationship with the Hardys.

“I think it’s unquestionable that the ownership of the characters in the storyline resides in Impact Wrestling. I don’t think even the Hardys would dispute that. They’ve all signed contracts. Their contracts are standard contracts. Not only in the wrestling industry, but in the entertainment industry, generally, the producer of the show owns the content and it doesn’t really matter who in the creative team came up with the idea of what the character should be.

The person that owns the storyline and the character is the person who invested to take that idea and put it on TV. That’s what we did. Impact put those characters on TV, and the contracts with those people are indisputably contracts that provide their IP to Impact.”

Are you open to speaking and sitting down with the Hardys?

“Oh, of course. I was open to speaking before and I’m open now. We’ve offered many times to find an arrangement with the Hardys that would allow them to continue to use the gimmick within reasonable parameters as to what’s important to us and what would be important to them.

I understand with the dynamic of their move to the WWE and drama with which they created that launch – I understand their plan to create maximum “heat” in that period from when they announced to us that they weren’t going to sign the contracts, to the date that they revealed their new location. But I kinda half-expected that once that had been achieved, the thing would die its own natural death because as far as I know, the WWE doesn’t want the gimmick, and indeed, from every conversation I’ve had with them, I’ve been told they have no interest in it.”

So they’re not actively pursuing it from you?

“Oh god, no. We’ve been in communication because there’s all this chatter about how we’re keeping it from them. [Laughs] I’m taking heat because I’m keeping something from you. If you want it, why don’t you call me? And their answer to me has been, ‘No, not interested.'”

Back in March, the Hardys appeared on a Ring of Honor event in Manhattan announcing they would be appearing on the following Friday’s pay-per-view. What had come out was that on Friday, ROH was notified a few hours before the pay-per-view to stop utilizing these characters on their broadcast.

“We had conversations with the Ring of Honor people before the Manhattan event as to what I was gonna be good with and what they were good with. I thought we had an understanding as to where the line was going to be, and they communicated to me that they understood our position and would honour it.

It became apparent in the day before the pay-per-view event that whatever Ring of Honor was putting forward as to who was showing up, who was being teased, and actually who they intended to appear was going to be the [Broken Hardy] characters. We did what people who own intellectual property do. You can’t do that. We had an understanding. You’re not living by that understanding.”

How would you characterize the relationship now with Ring of Honor?

“Fine. I think the Ring of Honor people would have preferred had we not interfered with that show. I don’t think they hold any ill will toward me for doing what I did. I’ve had discussions with Joe [Koff, Ring of Honor COO] from time to time. There’s still opportunities for us to be working with Ring of Honor much in the same way we intended to do before the Hardy Brothers left. T

hey’ve got lots of other wrestlers within their organization that would be fun to see against our wrestlers and vice-versa, I’m sure. So hopefully as the heat from all of this dies down at some point, we can start working with them in much the same way as we intend to work with AAA or NOAH or anybody else. It doesn’t have to be an international partner for us to be wanting to bring the fans opportunities to see match-ups they want to see.”

LAX (Santana & Ortiz) vs. Garza Jr. & Laredo Kid

Diamante ended up getting involved for Lax, taking out Garza Jr. on the outside. This allowed Sanatan & Ortiz to hit a Doomsday Device type move, but replace the top rope clothes line with a blockbuster into a power-bomb.

Winners: LAX

Kongo cut off his comeback with an avalanche in the corner, then followed it up with a side-driver type move and got the 3-count.

After the match, KM and Sienna hit the ring and started laying the boots into Sutter. Van Ness held Allie back. Mahabali Shera made the save. Sutter then challenged Kong and KM to a tag match against him and Shera for next week.

Winner: Kongo Kong

3. James Storm vs. EC3

Magnus was on commentary for this match. Storm dressed up as a cowboy last week and then delivered a beatdown to Storm with the leather strap to the back.

Winner: James Storm via DQ

Sienna got the majority of the offence, and a clean win in this match. She took the early advantage, until ODB was able to make a short comeback. After ODB missed a move from the 2nd rope, Sienna hit the Silencer and got the pin.

Win: Sienna (retains)

Winner: Low-Ki (retains)

Alberto El Patron Says WWE is Terrible For The Business of Pro Wrestling

Former WWE Superstar and current Impact Wrestling star Alberto El Patron (a.k.a. Alberto Del Rio) recently did an interview with Sports Illustrated’s “Extra Mustard” to talk on a view pro wrestling topics. Here are the highlights:

His work with Impact Wrestling:

“I am so happy to work with Impact Wrestling. I have nothing but respect for them. Unlike another company, who I don’t watch, I don’t follow, and I don’t even look at their tweets. I have some real beef with some of the people in that company.”

WWE being dramatically larger than any other promotion in pro wrestling:

“It’s horrible for the business, but you cannot blame that company. That company is doing what a company is supposed to do—monopolize, get the best talent from everywhere, and try to destroy the competition. They’re smart, you cannot blame them. The problem is with the talent. Just going there to be there with the promise of being on TV, but not even charging good money for your work, is not good business. We as wrestlers need to remember that this is a business. We started because we love the business and we stay in it because we have a lot of passion for it, but you have to be rewarded for your work. I was there and saw some of the main guys, new top heels and new top babyfaces, get paid nothing for their matches. The new talent joining NXT is taking pay cuts to work there, sometimes even 80 percent less. You need to be rewarded for your work in a business.”

What his goals are moving forward in his career:

“I’m planning on retiring in two years. I’m still good to go and I don’t have any major injuries, but I always promised myself I would leave on top. I started wrestling when I was eight years old with the amateur wrestling team in Mexico. I love the business with all my heart, but my body is getting tired. It’s all the travel. I’m going to do my last two years with Impact Wrestling. I’ll continue to do some indie shows here and there, and I have a lot of projects outside the business. I am going to continue running Combate Americas, the MMA company that I work for, and I am going to start a soap opera in Mexico in two months. We also have a reality show produced by Combate Americas that was sold to Amazon. People should be able to see that in three more months. I opened a restaurant and bar in San Antonio in November. We are the place to go on Fridays and Saturdays. God is blessing me. I’m getting married pretty soon. We changed the date twice, but we’re getting married in the last week of July, so I am keeping very busy outside the business.”

Al Snow Comments On Being Arrested This Week

Impact Wrestling agent/performer Al Snow was arrested on Monday night in Winchester, KY but claims the whole thing was a misunderstanding stemming from a traffic stop two years ago and a typo.

The 53-year-old was arrested, charged with “failure to appear” and later released on $234 bond. He posted a series of tweets on Wednesday stating that he was pulled over two years ago and received tickets for a broken tail light and an expired insurance card.

Snow claims to have cleared it up, but a typo resulted in a bench warrant for him that he was unaware of and his subsequent arrest.

Here’s the message he posted on Twitter earlier today:

“To clear up my arrest, I had a ticket from 2 years ago, broken light & expired insurance ID card, took care of it but thanks to a typo.

There was a bench warrant for me I was completely unaware of, my car was having trouble 3 police approached and asked for ID and I was taken in and paid a 234 dollar fine and was released.

A typo resulted in my arrest, and now I’ve spent time in the big house lol Be careful I might just shank you lol.”

In the video above, the new Global Champion talks about how he came to Impact looking for a new place to call home and thanks to the fans, he can now borrow a line from fiancee Paige – this is his house. Patron gives props to Magnus and thanks him for the match, then promises to do amazing things for the Impact fans as long as they continue to support him.

Hardys’ Push To Get Borash In WWE, Anthem Running A Tight Ship, UK TV Viewership

Here are some Impact Wrestling news highlights from this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Visit f4wonline.com for subscription information.

– Now that Anthem has had a few months to get settled in as the owners of Impact Wrestling, they are running a much tighter ship in terms of the company’s finances. A lot of the talent is getting paid on a per-appearances basis instead of annual deals. In the event that multiple tapings are held on one day, they’re paid for one date.

– Matt and Jeff Hardy recently attempted to get Jeremy Borash to leave Impact Wrestling and join them in WWE. Borash was one of the primary creative forces Matt Hardy’s broken universe and the footage filmed at the Hardy family compound. Borash ultimately decided to stick with Impact Wrestling, since he’s the lead announcer there and serves as the host for Jim Ross and Chef Robert Irvine’s live shows.

– Impact executives were said to be “thrilled” with the viewership for the first week of Impact Wrestling on Spike in the UK (4/21). That show averaged 151,000 viewers, which is not far off from what they were doing on Challenge in the UK back in December. Viewership was down for week two, but the strong start for Impact’s return to UK television is something they hope to build on in the coming months.

– Alberto Del Rio and Paige had a “really bad argument” as the most recent set of Impact TV tapings. The argument took place away from arena and everything was fine the next day.

Impact Wrestling Viewership Way Down Against NFL Draft & NBA Playoffs

Impact’s lowest viewership this year was 252,000 viewers. Per Showbuzz Daily, Impact Wrestling ranked #133 amongst cable originals last night.

Scott Steiner Returns To Impact Wrestling, Will Wrestle At Slammiversary (Photos)

Scott Steiner made his return to Impact Wrestling tonight during their TV tapings. Steiner showed up to assist Josh Mathews in his feud with Jeremy Borash. It was announced that Mathews & Steiner will face Jeremy Borash and Joseph Park at Slammiversary.

Scott Steiner was released from TNA in 2011. Steiner has been working with Jeff Jarrett’s promotion Global Force Wrestling since it was created. GFW and TNA have merged so that may have led to Steiner showing up. TNA also sued Steiner for a breach of contract, but that case was dismissed on February 22, 2016. Steiner also owns a Shoney’s restaurant in Acworth, Georgia. He witnessed a shooting near the restaurant last year.

Eli Drake Interview: Impact’s New Direction, Jarrett vs. Dixie, Top Talent Leaving

Impact Wrestling star Eli Drake was the latest guest on Ring Rust Radio, hosted by Donald Wood. Here are some highlights of what the man who delivers the ‘Facts of Life’ said about:

How the locker room is handling the big shakeup behind the scenes in Impact Wrestling:

“It’s different for sure because you got a lot of guys have kind of establish themselves over the last few years under a different regime. No matter what regime, there is undeniable talent here. The fact is now you got a bunch of new faces coming in and it’s a mixed reaction because you look at that and it’s like these guys are coming to try to take my spot? Nah. That’s a problem. So, I look at it like that, but I enjoy that competition. All that does is light a fire under me and once that happens I start to get hot whether it’s verbally or physically, but it’s actually good fuel.

The biggest differences between the leadership styles of Dixie Carter and Jeff Jarrett:

“I don’t want to badmouth anybody, but let me just put it like this, since the new regime has taken over, there is definitely more structure. Things seem to be more level for relations between the office and the talent, a lot more organization if you will. Not so up in the air. There were too many questions before and a lot of it now seems we are getting a lot more answers, so that’s a big plus.”

His first 2 years with Impact Wrestling and his future:

“It’s been pretty amazing. I have to tell you, when I first got there, I had a goal in mind; make a lot of noise, be seen, make sure people that have seen me before see me again and they know that this guy is going to make an impact, no pun intended, Since I’ve been there it’s been really cool and great. They’ve given me a great platform to do things kind of my way in a sense. In the sense that I get to go out there and do my talk show and a lot of that is been at my own creation. A lot of that has been going out there and just saying what’s on my mind. If you saw the segment with EC3 back in October, it was a real and heated segment, it was one of my favorites. We just went out there and said what was on our minds. That’s kind of what I like about it. It is a tightly run ship, but at the same time there is a little bit of wiggle room.”

His reaction to big name stars like Matt & Jeff Hardy leaving Impact Wrestling:

“Personally, I love the Hardys and I wish they hadn’t gone, on a personal and professional level. I just think they are incredible. Especially for the fact you can take guys that had an established thing for over 20 years and be able to reinvent themselves that way is amazing. That’s a huge talent to lose, but at the same time it’s the wrestling business. People are going to come and go and you got to keep churning and keep pushing and that’s an opportunity I salivate at. Now there’s a big void to be filled and who is going to fill that void? If I’m looking at it, I can’t see how I don’t fill that void. You got a guy that has all the tools, the total package, not Lex Luger, the actual real total package. That’s a great opportunity for me to kind of step up and get noticed and put me right in that spot.”

Something he thinks Impact Wrestling can improve upon:

“I tell you this: I am there, I watch the show, I’m in the show and that crowd is a lot more reactive and interactive than you can ever tell on TV. I don’t know if it’s just the mic in the crowd or the acoustics in the room, but that energy you can feel it in the room, but for whatever reason it doesn’t translate to TV. I think that would be a big thing that would help the viewers at home enjoy the show. If you see the crowd in house enjoying the show, you are going to enjoy the show that much more. I think that’s a huge thing. I think, and this might be a controversial thing to say, but I think taking guys from another brand or maybe mid-card guys and bringing them over and putting them immediately in the main event, I don’t think is a great idea. I think that kind of solidifies us as second place and I don’t think that is a smart move. That’s just one man’s opinion, though. I think that would help us move forward.”
