Recap Of Hulk Hogan On Ric Flair’s Podcast: “TNA Had Too Many Cooks In The Kitchen”

Hulk Hogan was recently interviewed by “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair for Ric’s WOOOOO! Nation podcast. The two Hall of Famers discussed their time in both WWE and TNA. You can stream or download the podcast here.

Hogan reiterated his stance on WWE firing him over his leaked racist rant, saying they did what they had to do. He said the loyalty of the fans is something that WWE can’t take away from him and he won’t take for granted. He has nothing bad to say about Vince or WWE, and says he knows he created some great memories there.

The two ring icons also got into the subject of TNA, where they both worked at the same time. Hogan was a member of the creative team during their runs in the company, and recalled the time he convinced Ric to take a clothesline from him while Ric was rolling down the ramp in a wheelchair. Flair was glad the crowd popped huge for the clothesline, because he says it’s hard to make the old Impact Zone pop as there are a lot of non-wrestling fans in attendance.

Dixie Carter is another person Hulk says he has nothing bad to say about, because she supported him through some tough surgeries. He did concede that being in TNA was a “tough gig.”

Flair put over James Storm and Bobby Roode as great talents. Flair also said that the decline for the company is due to “inconsistent booking” and having, “too many cooks in the kitchen.”

The Nature Boy revealed that TNA had him and Hulk delivered to and from the arena each night, and that most of their time in Orlando was spent at the hotel bar across the street.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw7u25dgjPo

TNA announced on Wednesday afternoon that all 3 shows on January’s Maximum Impact UK tour will be double-header television tapings. Moments ago during the Bound For Glory broadcast on Challenge TV in the UK and Ireland, TNA President Dixie Carter revealed the three dates on the January 2016 TNA MAXIMUM IMPACT 8 Tour in Manchester, London and Birmingham will be double IMPACT WRESTLING tapings.

Nine additional Stars and Knockouts have also been added to the Tour, including British favorite Grado, Tag Team Champions The Wolves – Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, former TNA World Champion Mr. Anderson, X-Division Champion Tigre Uno, India’s Mahabali Shera and Knockouts Champion Gail Kim, Velvet Sky and Madison Rayne.

The 2016 TNA MAXIMUM IMPACT 8 Tour includes stops in:

Manchester on January 29
London on January 30
Birmingham on January 31

TNA Holding “World Title Series” To Crown New Heavyweight Champion

https://youtu.be/3uT388XuY5s

In a video statement released on Wednesday, TNA President Dixie Carter and TNA executive Billy Corgan addressed the situation surrounding the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

Dixie says she was ready to fight the injunction at all costs but after talking to Hardy on Tuesday, she decided to accept Hardy’s decision to vacate the title.

It was announced that TNA will have a “World Title Series” that will begin on tonight’s Impact Wrestling and will eventually see a new champion crowned.

TNA In Talks With Several Cable Networks To Air Impact In 2016

TNA Wrestling has been talking with with as many as four cable networks to air Impact Wrestling in 2016.

Earlier this year, Dave Meltzer broke the news that Destination America would be dropping Impact as soon as possibly could, which would have been the end of September. Months went by without a statement from TNA or Destination America, painting a bleak outlook for the fledgling wrestling promotion.

Dixie Carter told Sports Illustrated last month that Impact would remain on Destination America through the end of 2015 and negotiations to extend their run into 2016 are currently “ongoing.”

At this point, TNA is in a bad spot with virtually no leverage to land a favorable TV deal for next year. Impact Wrestling is generating roughly 1/3 the viewership they had towards the end of their run on Spike TV. While Destination America’s limited exposure is partly to blame, the fact remains that the brand is badly damaged and they won’t be able to count on much revenue from a TV deal.

There’s also the issue of TNA not having any more episodes of Impact in the can — and 3 more months of television to fill. However TNA is able to produce 12 more weeks of Impact episodes, it doesn’t seem like they will have a ton of momentum heading into 2016 to even make the case for a good TV contract.

Matt Hardy Vacates TNA World Heavyweight Title

https://youtu.be/kyK0Mn6HkZA

After capturing the TNA World Heavyweight championship on Sunday night at Bound For Glory, Matt Hardy has announced he is vacating the title.

Ethan Carter III announced on Monday that he has filed an injunction against TNA as a result of how Hardy won the title. The injunction would prevent Hardy from appearing on TNA television with the belt and Matt decided the TNA audience deserves a champion who can be present on Impact Wrestling.

TNA will be issuing a statement on Wednesday about the future of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.

TNA In Talks With New Cable Networks, Preparing For Destination America Departure

With TNA Wrestling’s future with Destination America apparently in limbo, TNA is looking for a new cable home for early 2016.

PWInsider.com reports that TNA is talking to as many as four cable networks right now. TNA could be off of domestic television for a few weeks or a month in-between networks, but feels they can line up a new home on cable for Impact. TNA executives have also been heard saying they will stay on Destination America through the end of this year.

There is no word on which specific networks TNA is in talks with.

Dixie Carter’s Major Announcement Is A Media Tour Of India

https://youtu.be/BYiR7ZXAFW8

As advertised, TNA President Dixie Carter revealed her latest “announcement” on Monday, and while everything seems pleasant, it’s certainly not the announcement anyone has been anticipating.

As seen in the video above, Carter announced that Ethan Carter III, Mahabali Shera and Rebel will be traveling to India this month for a TNA media tour and talent search.

Below are the official details:

TNA Wrestling and Sony Six Announce Extensive India Media Tour and Talent Search

Mumbai (Monday October 5, 2015): TNA Wrestling, in partnership with Sony SIX, are delighted to announce that India’s own Mahabali Shera, along with fellow TNA Stars EC3 and Rebel, will travel to India later this month for an extensive international media tour – during which they will make a key announcement about TNA in the region.

The trio will be accompanied by TNA’s Executive Vice President of Television and Talent Relations John Gaburick, who is using to the trip to search for Indian talent to join Shera on the TNA roster.

This expansive week-long promotional tour will span four major cities. It kicks off in Mumbai on October 19, before heading to Ahmedabad, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

TNA fans in India can look forward to meeting and interacting with their favorite wrestlers at a series of promotional events in each city. They will also get a close-up view of the TNA Stars soaking up the diverse local cultural experiences in each location.

This year’s promotional tour, follows 2014’s momentous unveiling of TNA’s first ever Indian wrestler, Shera – after a year-long search led by TNA Hall of Famer and Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle.

During his visit to India, Kurt selected and mentored Shera, welcoming him into the elite faction of the TNA global talent roster and further growing the popularity of professional wrestling in India.

TNA President Dixie Carter said: “It’s been amazing to watch the growth of TNA in India, and our incredible partnership with Sony SIX has provided the foundation for this success.

“The addition of Mahabali Shera to our roster has won us even more new fans, thanks to his ring presence and signature Shera Shuffle dance that continues to catch fire.

“We are proud to send Shera back for a hero’s welcome in India, along with EC3 and Rebel, for this expansive multi-city media tour and I can’t wait to see the reaction to the announcement they are going to make. I’m also hopeful that John will discover another future Indian star to join Shera on our diverse and incomparable roster.”

Catering to the sustained demand for TNA on Sony SIX, this announcement marks a significant investment, cultivating the growth of professional wrestling entertainment viewership across the Indian market.

Gunner Talks More About His Goal To Sign With WWE

Former TNA star Gunner (Chad Lail) recently spoke with Scott Fishman of Channel Guide Magazine to promote his role in the film “Navy SEALS vs. Zombies.” Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On his interest in WWE: “Wrestling is my number one love since I was a kid. It’s what I always wanted to do. Ever since I was five I dreamed for that WrestleMania moment or wrestling some of the top guys on Monday nights. I definitely want to pursue WWE. There are some talks going on. I hope it comes to pass, so we’ll see. When it comes to the independent scene, it’s been awesome. That is where I came from.”

On his first “feature film”: “It’s a tremendous opportunity for me. In pro wrestling, you kind of go from wrestling in front of a hundred people in an armory to 8,000 people on TV and being thrown into the fire where it was sink or swim. Everyone on set was super awesome. Wrestling is a little different than acting because in wrestling you are in front of a bigger audience … Everyone was really cool. It was an awesome set to be on. Everyone was helpful. I think I did pretty decent for my first role. So we’ll see how it looks.”

Vince Russo Talks About TNA’s Future, How To Handle Upcoming Tapings

Former WWE & TNA writer Vince Russo has launched a new podcast called Nuclear Heat, which you can listen to here (.MP3). On the show’s premiere episode, Russo talked about the future of TNA and the uncertainty of their TV deal with Destination America. Russo argues that without an extension on their deal beyond the end of the year, it does not make sense for the company to do spend more money on tapings.

“Destination America has given TNA to the end of the year. That’s what we’re hearing. That’s the rumor. Nobody from TNA, nobody from Destination America, has come forward to say differently, so you have to believe there is some truth to that.”

Russo continued, “So put yourself in TNA’s position. If I know I’m done at the end of the year, with Destination America, and I don’t have another [television] network to go to, why on Earth am I going to invest the money to produce television for October, November, and December when no matter how good that television is, it doesn’t matter.”

Russo expects TNA to go back and splice together a bunch of matches from previous tapings to create ‘new’ episodes of Impact, which would help keep the show on the air for several more weeks without holding additional tapings:

“I believe that those last 12 weeks of TNA programming will probably be random matches that they do have in the can that we have not seen before here in the United States. And with that, they aren’t going to involve storylines. They are just basically going to be straight wrestling matches to fill time. That would be my guess based on what I know.”

Jim Ross Blogs About TNA Bound For Glory

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross has updated his blog at JRsBarBQ.com with his thoughts on Sunday night’s TNA Bound For Glory PPV: Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Bobby Roode vs. Bobby Lashley:

Bobby Roode and Bobby Lashley had a damn good match. So did the Wolves tag title bout. Enjoyed two of my favorites in Gail KIm andAwesome Kong but thought the finish could have been better strategized.

Eric Young vs. Kurt Angle:

Impressed with Eric Young’s skill set a heel and Kurt Angle is still a badass and effective if not over exposed. Angle at Wrestlemania Texas vs. Brock Lesnar would be a massive hit but it seems that the decision makers in WWE don’t share my optimism but I might be wrong.

The Main Event:

Never book two fan favorites versus one villain in a triple threat match. It won’t work as a rule and did not work as it could have or should have. No issues with Matt Hardy winning the TNA Title by pinning Drew Galloway  while EC3 remained undefeated but he lost his title. The champion losing his title without being pinned or submitted is as lame as being able to win a cage match by escaping the cage.

His Overall Grade For The Show:

“Gave the show a C+ grade as it had some good moments including the talent working hard but some of the booking was suspect IMO.”

Bound For Glory News: Backstage Drama, Injured Wrestler

— Dixie Carter confirmed that Tigre Uno suffered a shoulder injury during his match at Bound For Glory last night. We should have info soon on how much time he’ll miss.

— There was some privacy-related backstage drama at TNA’s Bound For Glory PPV. PWInsider reports it all stemmed from fans being allowed to eat at the catering area alongside with the wrestlers. It sounds like VIP ticket holders were all over the place backstage and it didn’t allow the wrestlers privacy to discuss things like what would happen on last night’s PPV.

Matt Hardy Captures The TNA World Heavyweight Title

Matt Hardy became the new TNA World Heavyweight champion at Sunday night’s Bound For Glory pay-per-view.

Jeff Hardy served as the guest referee and was directly involved in the match finish. Ethan Carter III started arguing with Jeff for not counting his pinfalls on Galloway and  Matt. EC3 low blowed Galloway and dared Jeff to disqualify him, but it was a no DQ match. EC3 brought a chair in the ring and was about to use it on Matt, but Jeff grabbed the chair and hit Carter with it.

Jeff then hit EC3 with the twist of fate. Matt Hardy hit a twist of fate of his own and Jeff counted the pin to make Matt the new TNA Champion.

Afterwards, Matt celebrated with his wife, son, father and Jeff.

Straight from the word “go,” all of these guys are flipping and flying all over the place, to the delight of the fans here in Charlotte, North Carolina.

There are more high spots and near falls than any human being would ever dare try and keep track, however when all was said and done, Uno managed to retain his X-title in what was a very typical, but very awesome TNA pay-per-view opening bout.

Winner and NEW TNA X-Division Champion: Tigre Uno

After The Match: A familiar face returns!

After what was an action-packed, exciting opening bout for TNA Bound For Glory, out of nowhere, Gregory Helms (Shane Helms, The Hurricane) comes out to the ring. Uno, still the TNA X-Division Champion, remains in the ring. Helms eventually makes it to the ring and he stares down Uno. Finally, he grabs Uno’s arm and raises it in the air, giving the TNA X-Champ his veteran stamp of approval.

Ethan Carter III Hypes Tonight’s Main Event

Mr. Anderson vs. Jessie Godderz vs. Eli Drake vs. Al Snow vs. Aiden O’Shea vs. Robbie E vs. Mahabali Shera vs. Tyrus vs. Chris Melendez vs. Tommy Dreamer vs. Abyss vs. The Pope

After EC3’s on stage promo, we head back to the ring for our second match of the evening, which is another multiple person bout, as our Bound For Glory Gauntlet Match is up next.

The bell rings and all four guys immediately go at it. Our fans here in Charlotte, North Carolina are loving every minute of it!! We’re ten minutes into the match now, there have been so many entrances and eliminations, it’s hard to keep track of, however anyone who spent any amount of time in this contest officially — is listed in the bold header directly above. The action, however, is non-stop and we’ve even had some suprise entrants in the match.

The match comes down to the final two opponents, Tyrus and Mr. Anderson and the two stare each other down and immediately go at it. The two brawl for about three minutes where Tyrus hits the big splash for the 1, 2, 3.

Tyrus wins the Bound For Gold Gauntlet match, which leads to TNA champ EC3 coming down to the ring. He puts over Tyrus for his win and says that’s why he hired him, to watch his back. EC3 says with the win, Tyrus can challange any champ he wants, but it won’t be him because they are going to team up and go after the tag team championship.

After talking for a few seconds, Tyrus finally reveals that he’s not interested in tag titles and will in fact go after EC3 for the title, EC3 looks shocked, music plays and that ends this segment.

Winner of the TNA Bound For Gold Gauntlet 2015: Tyrus
