Over the past several months, there’s been a great deal of uncertainty regarding the future of Lucha Underground and a potential second season.
With the final installments of the 39-episode Season 1 already filmed, the growing legion of Temple devotees have been wondering about the fate of the show once the finale airs. There have been rumors of the organization having trouble securing funding for new programming, but lately there’s been more of an optimistic outlook, with reports that UniMas parent company Univision is interested in picking up the show.
We reached out to Lucha Underground’s media relations department and were told:
“Conversations are underway but no decisions have been made.”
If you’re a fan of the promotion and want to show your support, contact Univision and tell them you want more Lucha Underground!
