2222w- Earlier this week it was announced that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and television/Hollywood producer Jerry Bruckheimer will be working with NBC to create a new drama series based on the professional wrestling industry during the 1980’s. To follow up on that story – the pilot that will be filmed will be a “put pilot” – which means NBC has contractually agreed to air at least the pilot once it is produced. Typically, a show getting a ‘put pilot’ is a strong indication the show will be picked up for a full season.
The Rock wrote the following on Twitter about the show on Wednesday night:
“Kickin’ Ass! Excited to partner up w @BruckheimerJB & @NBC to create 1980’s wrestling TV drama.”
– WWE has signed Sterling James Keenan (real name Matthew Polinsky from Pittsburgh, PA) to a developmental contract. He’s been working in FCW since last week.
– Wade Barrett beat WWE developmental wrestler Bo Rotundo in a dark match at Tuesday’s SmackDown taping in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
For those keeping score – Bo Runtundo was one of 3 developmental talents that John Cena recently put over after a visit to Florida Championship Wrestling. To read more on that story – hit the link below:
