Fans who have patiently awaited the release of the latest installment of the award-winning “UFC Undisputed” video game will not have much longer of a wait.
Originally UFC President Dana White was quoted as saying, “We are excited to launch ‘UFC Undisputed 3’ in January 2012 and expect it to be the best version yet. We’ve added two new weight classes and several new features to the game that will bring UFC fans closer to the Octagon than ever before.”
Sources can now confirm that according to company executives, a release date of February 14, 2012 for the latest addition to the “UFC Undisputed” series which will include bantamweight and featherweight divisions, “PRIDE rules” game-play option, and is said to have simpler controls in the sometimes-complex title.
The third installment of the video game will include more than 150 playable characters as well as new fighting positions such as guillotine choke and seated positions against the cage were also implemented in the game. Fighters may now also sway on the floor in order to avoid damage during bouts, bouts that are concluded with a FightMetric-style data presentation.
“‘UFC Undisputed 3’ is on track to deliver an incredible virtual MMA experience unlike any other,” Danny Bilson, executive vice president of core games at THQ, recently stated. “This product is intense, engaging and highly competitive while still being extremely accessible, making it a must-have for millions of UFC fans, traditional fighting game enthusiasts and more casual sports fans around the world.”
