Which WWE Hall Of Famer Does Kenny Omega Wish He Wrestled?

Kenny Omega

Kenny Omega has had a slew of high-profile matches but there’s one showdown that he never got to have.

Omega is the reigning AEW World Champion. He captured the gold on the Dec. 2, 2020 edition of Dynamite. He defeated Jon Moxley for the gold thanks to a distraction from Don Callis. This solidified Omega’s heel turn.

During his reign, Omega has defeated the likes of Rey Fenix, PAC and Orange Cassidy in a three-way match, Jungle Boy, and Christian Cage. Of course, the “Best Bout Machine” also had classics in NJPW with the likes of Kazuchika Okada, Tetsuya Naito, Tomohiro Ishii, Kota Ibushi, and Hiroshi Tanahashi.

There’s one major name who Kenny Omega wishes he had faced, however. He revealed to Adam’s Apple that the wrestler he always wanted to go one-on-one with was WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.

“I felt like I just missed out on maybe wrestling Kurt Angle, and that would have been a dream match for me. He’s a guy that I consider probably one of the best of all time. Especially for what I try to do in the ring and I try to bring in athletics and real sports. He was a jack of all trades and there won’t be anyone like him ever again, I don’t think.”

Angle was the first Olympic gold medalist signed to WWE. He quickly became an elite talent thanks to his in-ring work as well as his charisma. He was a unique performer and as Omega alluded to, there really isn’t anyone quite like him in the wrestling industry.

Angle has retired from the wrestling business. He has said that AEW contacted him several times but he says his body is just too broken down to make a commitment.
