WWE Concussion Lawsuit Thrown Out, Lawyers Plan To Appeal

A Connecticut judge recently dismissed a class-action lawsuit against WWE which alleged the company withheld information regarding the long-term impacts of concussions. Lawyers say there are plans to appeal the decision, however.

Attorney Konstantine Kyros has been representing over 50 former WWE wrestlers in the lawsuit.

Lawsuit Against WWE Tossed Out

A recent ruling by Judge Vanessa L. Bryant of the United States District Court of Connecticut officially dismissed the suit yesterday.

“The evidence does not support a finding that WWE knew of a risk that repeated head injuries incurred while performing as a professional wrestler could cause permanent degenerative neurological conditions,” stated Judge Bryant.

Some of the complaints were filed incorrectly as well and were time-barred by five-year statutes of limitations.

Lawyers Plan To Appeal The Decision

Konstantine Kyros is not happy about the decision. He mentioned today he plans on appealing the decision.

“I stand for professional wrestlers who face the prospect of losing their identity and consciousness to the effects of a latent occupational disease that robs them of their sanity,” Kyros said in a statement sent to media. “The comfort of their families and memories of everything they achieved entertaining the millions of people who love them.”

“The lawsuits include some of the world’s most famous athletes including those diagnosed with CTE by the world’s foremost expert in CTE, including Jimmy Snuka and Mr. Fuji, whose brains were studied because of our advocacy and dedication to getting help for former WWE performers.”
