This summer, WWE will present the Global Cruiserweight Series tournament on the WWE Network, a 10-episode series featuring 32 of the world’s top lightweight competitors. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there are more tournaments in the works.

The Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic will be returning later this year. Last year’s inaugural tournament was a phenomenal showcase of talent, with Finn Balor and Samoa Joe being crowned the winners. Back in March, Cody Rhodes confirmed that it will be an annual event.

WWE is also considering a women’s tournament to air on the WWE Network. Like the Global Cruiserweight Series, the women’s tournament would feature a mix of current talents as well as unsigned standout female competitors from around the world.
