205 Live was pre-taped this week in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 205 Live kicked off a 3-hour stretch of previously unaired pretaped wrestling shows on the WWE Network last night.
The scheduled match between Lio Rush and Noam Dar did not take place, however. It was revealed during the show Rush told GM Drake Maverick he was unable to compete because of his duties on Raw with Bobby Lashley. Maverick then informed Rush he will fulfill his obligations next week.
205 Live 9/19 Results
TJP defeated Lince Dorado
Lince Dorado looked as though he was going to pick up a victory over a former Cruiserweight Champion but TJP sunk to new lows to pick up the win. In a move which would be illegal under Lucha rules, TJP completely took off Dorado’s mask. With the luchador attempting to cover his face, TJP rolled him up and got the pin.
After the match, TJP grabbed one of the Lucha House Party’s nose-makers and ran off with it as well.
- In the back, Maverick announced Mustafa Ali will take on Hideo Itami next week.
Cruiserweight Championship
Cedric Alexander (c) defeated Drew Gulak
Gulak would pull out all the stops in this match. He even broke his own rule about coming off the top rope. Despite having been put in the Gu-Lock submission twice, Alexander was able to hit the Lumbar Check and get the victory. It’s his 4th straight title defense on WWE programming.
In the back, Alexander’s opponent at Super Show-Down, Buddy Murphy watched. He’ll have 70,000 people cheering for him in the Melbourne Cricket Grounds on October 6th for what has to be considered the toughest test yet for Alexander’s reign.
Next week on 205 Live:
