The December 10th episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, CA. Here are 5 takeaways from the final episode of RAW before WWE TLC:
Seth Rollins Spoke For The Fans
Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins kicked off this week’s episode of RAW to a great reaction from the crowd. Rollins invited RAW GM Baron Corbin down to the ring to get a dose of reality.
Corbin came down to the ring to a chorus of boos and told Rollins that the door to his office is always open. Rollins told Corbin to shut up and listen. Seth stated that RAW has sucked under Corbin’s leadership and the crowd broke out in a “Corbin sucks!” chant.
Seth Rollins blasted Corbin for having an amazing tag team like The Revival fighting in Lucha House Rules matches. Seth blasted the pee jokes that we’ve all sat through these past few weeks.

Rollins noted that Universal Champion Brock Lesnar hasn’t competed in a match on RAW in 16 years. Seth even brought up the TV ratings being at an all-time low and blamed it all on Baron Corbin. Baron shouted that he doesn’t give a damn about what he or the audience thinks.
Corbin claimed that Ambrose is going to defeat Seth for the IC Title at WWE TLC and bragged about how he is going to defeat Braun Strowman by forfeit at the PPV. Corbin then vowed to put Seth Rollins through hell once he becomes the permanent RAW GM.
Seth challenged Corbin to a TLC match tonight and of course, Baron declined. Rollins called Corbin a coward several times and Baron wound up accepting. Corbin announced that the match will be for the Intercontinental Championship.

Everything that Rollins said in this promo is 100% true. The only issue I had with it is that this show has sucked for a long time now, so it is obviously not Corbin’s fault. It makes for a good little storyline, but the issue with RAW is the unbelievable lack of creativity exhibited every week. It was nice to hear WWE acknowledge how terrible the show has been, but I don’t expect them to actually do anything about it going forward.
Drake Maverick Cost AOP The Titles
AOP & Drake Maverick defended their RAW Tag Team Championships against Chad Gable & Bobby Roode tonight on RAW in a 2 on 3 Handicap match. Gable and Roode controlled the beginning of the match and launched Mackerick onto both Akam and Rezar outside the ring.

AOP took out Gable with a Neckbreaker/Powerbomb and then Drake Maverick pleaded for a tag just like last week. Maverick mocked Roode and then tried to pin him but Roode countered into a roll-up for the victory. Gable and Roode are the new RAW Tag Team Champions.

I simply do not understand the point of bringing up The Authors of Pain from NXT, only to make them look like a joke on the main roster. The crowd erupted after Gable & Roode won the titles, but I don’t see a positive in this at all. I haven’t been given a reason to care about Gable & Roode on RAW. They are just a team that was thrown together because WWE didn’t know what else to do with them.
Drew McIntyre Destroyed Dolph Ziggler
Dolph Ziggler battled Drew McIntyre again tonight on RAW. Drew controlled the match early but Dolph battled back and sent McIntyre into the ring post. Ziggler went for a Superkick but his knee gave out and McIntyre taunted him.
Ziggler hit a Zig Zag out of nowhere but McIntyre kicked out at the last second. Ziggler went for another Superkick but McIntyre absolutely leveled him with the Claymore Kick for the pinfall victory.
After the match, Drew McIntyre launched Ziggler into the ring post and then followed it up with a brutal Dropkick to his face against the ring apron.

Drew McIntyre has been one of the bright spots on RAW since joining the main roster once again. I wish that this feud actually led to an epic match, instead of being rushed into the build for McIntyre’s match against Finn Balor this Sunday at WWE TLC. Balor was pulled from tonight’s RAW due to injury and was also replaced by Apollo Crews in the Mixed Match Challenge. As of now, Balor’s match against McIntyre is still scheduled for TLC.
Nia Jax Cut A Terrible Promo
Alexa Bliss moderated a face to face between Nia Jax and Ronda Rousey tonight on RAW. Jax made a statement before Rousey came down to the ring and vowed to win the RAW Women’s Championship at TLC. Nia claimed that she didn’t talk trash because she is already Rousey’s worst nightmare. She boasted about breaking Becky Lynch’s face and claimed that she was going to make Rousey tap out by punching her in the face over and over again.
Rousey interrupted and said that she came here for a fight. Ronda rushed the ring but Tamina and Nia rolled to the outside. Tamina and Nia got back up on the ring apron to surround Rousey but Ember Moon came down to the ring to make the save.
It looks like @RondaRousey is ready for a FIGHT ahead of her match against @NiaJaxWWE at #WWETLC! #Raw pic.twitter.com/GIByhYfhdi

Ember Moon then battled Tamina as Rousey and Jax were ringside. Nia hopped up on the ring apron for a distraction but Rousey dragged her to the floor. Ronda then launched Nia over the barricade as Ember connected with the Eclipse for the pinfall victory.

Nia’s promo tonight was the definition of cringe. It came off as unnatural as she robotically looked at her fist and delivered lines that generated absolutely no reaction from the crowd. Rousey will defend her title against Nia Jax at WWE TLC this Sunday. Tonight was the final RAW before the PPV and WWE’s last shot to get people hyped up for that match. They certainly failed at that and somehow managed to make Jax look like even less of a threat in the process. This match deserves to be on the Kickoff Show but it will be on the main card simply because Rousey’s name is attached to it.
Seth Rollins Overcame The Odds & Retained The IC Title
Heath Slater refereed his first match tonight when Elias faced Lio Rush. Under orders from Baron Corbin, Slater ignored Lashley bashing Elias with a guitar and Lio Rush picked up the win. Corbin later told Slater that he would also be refereeing the Intercontinental Championship TLC match tonight.
Corbin controlled the beginning of the match and sent Rollins flying out of the ring. Corbin climbed to the top of the ladder but Seth brought him back down. Corbin set up a chair in the corner of the ring and charged at Rollins but Seth got out of the way. Corbin crashed into the chair and crashed to the canvas.
Rollins unloaded with a flurry of chair shots and then a Suicide Dive. Rollins went for another Suicide Dive but Corbin caught him and Chokeslammed him through a table. Rollins tried to hit Corbin with a chair but accidentally hit Heath Slater. Seth then hit an awesome Frog Splash on Corbin through another table.
Seth made his way up the ladder towards the title but Heath Slater shoved the ladder over. Slater then brought Corbin back inside the ring. Corbin made his way up the ladder but Rollins brought him down with a Buckle Bomb through a table in the corner of the ring. Seth blasted Slater with a Superkick and then hit a Stomp on Corbin. Rollins then climbed up the ladder and grabbed the title for the victory. Dean Ambrose came down to the entrance ramp and stared at Rollins as RAW went off the air.

Rollins and Corbin had a solid TLC match to close this week’s RAW. Overall, the show still has the same issues and it didn’t get me any more excited for the PPV this weekend. The highlight of the show was Seth Rollins saying what WWE fans have been feeling for a long time now about RAW. After the opening promo, there were roughly 2.5 hours of boring television until the main event finally rolled around.
