The February 4th episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Moda Center in Portland, OR. Here are 5 takeaways from this week’s show:
Stephanie McMahon Suspended Becky Lynch
Stephanie McMahon kicked off this week’s episode of RAW and welcomed Becky Lynch down to the ring. Lynch hobbled her way down the entrance ramp to a great reaction from the Portland crowd.

Lynch vowed to slap Rousey’s head off at WrestleMania and Stephanie claimed that there is nobody that wants to see her do that more than she does. Stephanie brought up Becky wearing a knee brace and asked if she was alright. Lynch quickly stated that she was fine and then Stephanie rolled footage of Becky getting injured at Royal Rumble after Nia Jax shoved her off the steel steps.
Becky told Stephanie that no doctors are coming near her and boasted about winning the Royal Rumble on one good leg. Stephanie complimented Becky on being all heart but informed her that she cannot let Lynch compete if she is not cleared by WWE’s medical staff.
Lynch got pissed off and claimed that she was not moving for anyone and that she fought her entire life to get here. Becky told Stephanie that she has never had to struggle for a damn thing in her life and called her a daddy’s girl. Stephanie told Becky that it is a liability for her to compete until she is cleared by the doctors. Stephanie added that Lynch vs. Rousey is one of the biggest matches in WWE history and begged Lynch to go get her knee looked at.
Stephanie informed Becky that she will be suspended until Lynch sees the medical staff. Becky refused and Stephanie said that she has no choice but to suspend her. Lynch then attacked Stephanie McMahon and went for the Dis-Arm-Her but Becky’s knee gave out. Lynch then beat the hell out of WWE security and went after Stephanie again.

Ronda Rousey confronted Becky Lynch backstage as she was being escorted out of the arena. Ronda called Lynch unprofessional and told her to go buy some Advil.

Charlotte will likely try to weasel her way into the WrestleMania match over the next few weeks. I’d still much rather see the match remain Lynch vs. Rousey, but it would be an interesting storyline to kill time on SmackDown. Hopefully, Becky Lynch keeps showing up during her “suspension”, because she is honestly one of the only characters I find entertaining in WWE right now.

The Revival Earned A Shot At The RAW Tag Team Championships
Heavy Machinery, Lucha House Party, The Revival, and The B-Team competed to determine the #1 contenders for the RAW Tag Team Championships. Heavy Machinery dominated the match early and isolated Scott Dawson in the ring. Heavy Machinery then launched Dawson onto everyone outside the ring.
RAW Tag Team Champions Bobby Roode & Chad Gable were shown backstage watching the match as The Revival took control. Otis Dozovic tagged himself in and hit Bo Dallas with a Splash in the corner of the ring. Wilder then tagged in and knocked Otis out of the ring. The Revival then planted Bo with the Shatter Machine for the pinfall victory.

The crowd barely reacted when The Revival won this match, which speaks to how far they have fallen on the main roster. They have been made to look like a joke several times since arriving on RAW, so it is difficult to get excited about them earning another title shot. I certainly want to see The Revival get the push they deserve, but it is hard to blame the crowd for not giving a damn about this match. WWE has given them zero reason to get invested in the RAW tag team division.
Bayley & Sasha Banks Qualified For The Women’s Tag Team Championship Match
Sasha Banks & Bayley were set to face Alicia Fox and Nikki Cross tonight on RAW. The winner of the match would earn a spot in Women’s Tag Team Championship match at Elimination Chamber.
Cross and Fox attacked Bayley and Sasha Banks before the match started and beat them down on the entrance ramp. Cross and Fox isolated Bayley in the corner of the ring and beat her down for the first several minutes of the match. Bayley wound up rolling up Alicia Fox to win the match and Banks was never tagged in.
BUT WHY?! The #TagTeam Match hasn't even started yet, and @AliciaFoxy & @NikkiCrossWWE are attacking @SashaBanksWWE & @itsBayleyWWE on #Raw! pic.twitter.com/aDiOSnWwFU

The build to the Women’s Tag Team Championship match at Elimination Chamber has been lackluster. Mandy Rose & Sonya Deville were simply just added to the title match, without having to earn their way in. Natalya and Dana Brooke were randomly thrown together as a team last week on RAW, and then Cross and Fox this week. I’m looking forward to the match at Elimination Chamber, but that is just by default because I’m a wrestling fan. Nothing on RAW or SmackDown has added to my excitement for the match.
LET THE CELEBRATION BEGIN!

EC3 Defeated Dean Ambrose In His Debut Match On RAW
EC3 was a guest on A Moment of Bliss tonight on RAW. EC3 came down to the ramp with a ridiculous amount of baby oil on his chest. Alexa flirted EC3 a bit before asking him if he was going to join RAW or SmackDown.
Nia Jax and Tamina interrupted and claimed that nobody cares about EC3. Jax boasted about entering the men’s Royal Rumble match and qualifying for the Women’s Tag Team Championship match by defeating Bliss and Mickie James.
Dean Ambrose interrupted and stated that it was obvious to everyone that Jax had a crush on him. Ambrose slapped the microphone out of EC3’s hand and joked that EC3 looked Creed fan. EC3 punched Ambrose in the face and made his way to the ring. Ambrose and EC3 then squared off and EC3 controlled the action early. Ambrose battled back but EC3 wound up picking up the victory via a roll-up.

EC3 is a great promo, so I have no idea why WWE is keeping him silent on RAW so far. Dean Ambrose stole this entire segment in my opinion and I’m looking forward to seeing what he does next after he leaves WWE. It looks like Ambrose will be putting over new talent until his contract expires.
It doesn't look like @TheDeanAmbrose is interested in extending a warm welcome to @therealec3…#Raw pic.twitter.com/khrbLQUYxj

The “New Era” Of RAW Includes A lot Of Older Superstars

Jeff Jarrett and Road Dogg performed a duet before Elias mercifully interrupted. Elias joked that Road Dogg should head back to SmackDown and tank their ratings. Elias took a couple shots at the crowd before coming down to the ring for his match against Jarrett. Elias defeated Jarrett with the Drift Away. After the match, Road Dogg attacked Elias as Jarrett brought his guitar into the ring. Road Dogg told Elias to suck it as Jeff hit him with the guitar.
Kurt Angle came down to the ring during RAW to address his future. Corbin and McIntyre interrupted and surrounded him in the ring. Braun Strowman made the save and it was announced that Angle & Strowman will face Corbin & McIntyre in the main event. McIntyre and Corbin isolated Angle in the ring and beat the hell out of him to start off the match.
Strowman eventually tagged but Corbin knocked him out of the ring and slammed him into the ring post. A half-hearted “get these hands!” broke out for a moment and then quickly fizzled out as the action returned to the ring. Strowman battled back and tagged Angle back into the match. Angle Clotheslined McIntyre out of the ring and then hit Corbin with the Angle Slam.
Kurt went for the cover but McIntyre broke it up. Strowman hit McIntyre with a shoulder tackle that sent Drew tumbling out of the ring. Braun then punched Corbin in the face and threw Baron to the outside. The referee disqualified Strowman because he was not the legal man. Strowman rescued Angle once again and Chokeslammed Corbin and McIntyre on top of the steel steps to close the show.

We are currently in WrestleMania season in 2019 and Kurt Angle is in the main event of RAW. Jeff Jarrett having a cameo at Royal Rumble was cool, but I didn’t find tonight’s segment entertaining. Drew McIntyre should be involved in a better storyline than trying to take out a 50-year-old Kurt Angle and Braun Strowman seems like he missed his oppurtunity. This week’s episode of RAW was more of the same. There was nothing on this show that would get a casual viewer to tune in next week or sign up for the WWE Network to make sure they see Elimination Chamber in less than two weeks.
