The December 9th, 2019 episode of WWE RAW aired live from the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC. It was the final episode of RAW before WWE TLC 2019 this Sunday. Here are 6 takeaways from the show:

Rusev Slammed Lashley Through A Table

Jerry “The King” Lawler presided over a divorce contract signing between Lana and Rusev. Lana came down to the ring with her lawyer and then Rusev came down to the ring with a big smile on his face while wearing a Donald Duck shirt.

The crowd loudly chanted “Rusev Day” as they took a seat at the table. Lana told Rusev that he used to love him even when the WWE Universe hated him. She claimed that Rusev’s success got to his head and then blamed the WWE Universe for causing their marriage to fail.

Rusev shouted that he made a nice video “on the tron!” and rolled footage of Lashley and Lana getting arrested last week. Lana called Rusev a monster and that he picked Rusev Day over her. Lana started shouting and fell to her knees in tears.

Rusev hopped up and shouted “lets sign the divorce papers!” and the crowd broke out in a “yes!” chant. Rusev went to sign first but Lana ripped the contract away. Lana stated that she is taking the dog and called Rusev a Bulgarian son of a bitch.

Lana signed the contract and Rusev said that he needed something from her before signed it. Lana went on a rant claiming that Rusev just wants to have sex again. Rusev told Lana that is not what he wants and just wants a match with Lashley.

Bobby interrupted and boasted about Lana being by his side. Lashley added that he is going to ask Lana to marry him after this divorce is over. Rusev signed the contract and then Lashley attacked him. Rusev battled back and slammed Bobby through the table.

I am in awe of how ridiculously bad this story line has been. I did laugh at some of Rusev’s lines tonight but I just want this feud to end as soon as possible.

The Viking Raiders Retained

Viking Raiders
The Viking Raiders

The Viking Raiders cut a promo tonight and said that have been searching for worthy opponents. Erik and Ivar issued an open challenge to any team who thinks they can take their titles. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) accepted the challenge and made their way to the ring.

Ford knocked Ivar to the outside and flipped onto him. Dawkins planted Erik with a Spinebuster and tagged Montez in. Ford connected with a Frog Splash and went for the cover but Ivar broke it up at the last second.

Angelo tagged in and showed off his strength by planted Ivar with an Exploder Suplex. Erik tagged in and kneed Dawkins in the face. Viking Raiders then planted Montez with the Viking Experience for the pinfall victory.

I was hoping that the Street Profits would have put up a much better fight. This match only lasted five minutes and then the Street Profits were back to doing comedy bits later on the show.

Kevin Owens Beat Mojo Rawley Down

Kevin Owens claimed that Seth Rollins told AOP to attack him last week in a backstage interview. Owens said that he was going to go look for Akam and Rezar and the cameras followed him. Kevin ran into Rey Mysterio and Rey gave him a steel pipe. Owens bumped into Mojo Rawley and wound up slapping him in the face.

Seth Rollins came down to the ring as the Viking Raiders and Street Profits shook hands following their match. Rollins told them that he had to handle some business and invited them to say. Viking Raiders and Street Profits declined and left the ring. Seth stated that he wanted to fight AOP right now and demanded that they come down to the ring.

Kevin Owens came down to the ring with the steel pipe and claimed that Seth knows AOP isn’t here. Akam and Rezar were shown arriving at the arena as RAW went to a commercial break. Seth left the ring and claimed that was the only way he could prove he is not associated with AOP.

Akam and Rezar appeared on the jumbotron and spoke in another language. Owens demanded that they come down to the ring but Sami Zayn’s music hit. Zayn said that he now has a managerial license that allows him to go back and forth from RAW and SmackDown. Mojo Rawley and Zayn got in the ring and Sami told Kevin that he was out of line for slapping Mojo in the face. Mojo started trash talking and Owens hit him with a Stunner. Owens followed it up by hitting him with the steel pipe a few times to end the segment.

Seth Rollins & AOP Attacked Kevin Owens

Kevin Owens continued to search for Akam and Rezar after he attacked Mojo Rawley. Owens bashed their van with the steel pipe and opened the door. AOP attacked Owens from behind and beat him down.

Akam and Rezar then slammed the car door on Owens’ head. Seth Rollins got out of the car and hit Owens with the Stomp. Rollins and AOP then walked away as Owens laid motionless on the concrete.

Rollins came down to the entrance ramp and went on a rant about the crowd. Seth said that he did everything right yet the WWE Universe still disrespects him. Rollins claimed that he didn’t have anything to do with AOP last week but the crowd didn’t believe him. Seth shouted that he beat Brock Lesnar twice and brought the Universal Championship back but that still wasn’t good enough. Rollins stood in between Akam and Rezar before the trio went backstage. Owens was then loaded into an ambulance.

I’m glad WWE didn’t drag this out any longer and officially turned Rollins heel. This segment was well done and the feud between Rollins and Owens should be entertaining.

The Kabuki Warriors Will Defend Their Titles Against Becky & Charlotte At TLC

Becky Lynch battled the Kabuki Warriors tonight in a Handicap Match. Earlier on the show, Charlotte suggested that the two team up to face them and become the new Women’s Tag Team Champions. Becky declined and stated that she wanted to handle it herself.

Lynch dominated the match early and beat Kairi Sane down in the corner of the ring. Becky connected with an Exploder Suplex and then planted the Kabuki Warriors with a DDT. Lynch went for a Leg Drop but missed and got trapped in the Asuka Lock.

Becky escaped and applied an Asuka Lock of her own but Kairi dragged Asuka to the outside. Back in the ring, Asuka hit a Shining Wizard for a near fall. Lynch slammed Asuka to the canvas and then knocked her to the outside. Becky applied the Dis-Arm-Her to Sane but Asuka broke it up.

Asuka hit Becky with a steel chair and the match ended in a DQ. Asuka and Sane brought out a table and put Becky on top of it. Kairi climbed to the top rope and hit the Insane Elbow through the table.

After the match, Charlotte talked to Becky backstage. The Kabuki Warriors then attacked Charlotte from behind in the hallway. Asuka and Sane challenged Flair and Becky to a match this Sunday at TLC for the Women’s Tag Team Championships.

Charlotte and Becky then accepted and suggested a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match.

Randy Orton Helped Rey Mysterio Retain The US Title

Rey Mysterio defended his United States Championship against AJ Styles in the main event of this week’s RAW. Styles controlled the match early and trapped Rey in a Headlock in the middle of the ring.

Mysterio battled to his feet and launched Styles out of the ring. Mysterio connected with a Moonsault and both superstars fell to the floor outside the ring. Styles slammed Rey into the ring post as RAW went to a commercial break.

When RAW returned, Gallows and Anderson were ringside as AJ was still in control. Rey battled back and Powerbombed AJ into the barricade. Back in the ring, Rey connected with a DDT for a near fall. Mysterio went for a 619 but Gallows got in the way. AJ capitalized with a Neckbreaker for a near fall. AJ hit the Styles Clash but Randy Orton slid into the ring and winked at him. Rey capitalized on the distraction and rolled AJ up to retain the title.

Mysterio actually ripped his pants during this botchfest of a main event. The show abruptly went off the air the second the match was over as well. Overall, this week’s episode of RAW was decent. Seth’s official heel turn and his promo that followed were the best part of tonight’s show.
