The October 3rd edition of WWE SmackDown aired live from the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado. It was the go-home show for WWE Hell in a Call 2017 this Sunday. Below are 7 takeaways from this week’s SmackDown:
Mahal Has Momentum Heading Into WWE Hell In A Cell
Shinsuke Nakamura was interviewed by Renee Young to kick off the go-home episode of SmackDown before WWE Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Renee asked about the insults that Jinder Mahal has said about him recently. Nakamura replied “sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me”. Nakamura vowed to win the WWE Championship Sunday at Hell in a Cell.
The Singh Brothers then interrupted and introduced Jinder Mahal and pointed towards the entrance ramp. Mahal attacked Nakmura from behind, but Shinsuke still wound up beating down Mahal. Nakamura geared up for the Kinshasa but Samir and Sunil Singh grabbed his legs. Jinder then booted Nakamura in the face and then planted him with the Khallas.
Later on tonight’s episode of SmackDown, Jinder Mahal was shown backstage. Highlights from Mahal’s attack on Nakamura were shown from the first segment of SmackDown. Jinder said that Shinsuke underestimated his intelligence and that it only took a simple distraction to throw the “rock star” off his game. Mahal said that the same thing is going to happen at Hell in a Cell and that he will still be WWE Champion.

Ziggler Says Roode Is Just An Entrance
Bobby Roode defeated Mike Kanellis in quick fashion tonight on SmackDown. After the match, Dolph Ziggler came down to the entrance ramp and said that he is working on an entrance for Hell in a Cell this Sunday. Ziggler then came down to the entrance ramp with a giant drum.
He dropped the drum and grabbed an airhorn. Dolph placed the airhorn next to the microphone and then asked if the crowd liked him now. The crowd chanted “no!”. Dolph said that he was going to show the world an entrance at Hell in a Cell like that they have never seen before. Ziggler added that he is going to expose Roode for being nothing more than an entrance and that is all he will ever be.
Dolph went to leave the ring and Bobby Roode grabbed a microphone. Bobby said Ziggler’s entrance was terrible and that he is doing it all wrong. Roode stated that it goes a little something like this and posed in the ring as the crowd chanted “glorious!”. Roode’s music hit as Ziggler made his way backstage.

Rusev Avoids Orton Before Hell In A Cell
Rusev came down to the ring with Aiden English. Rusev scolded Orton for ruining Rusev Day last week. Rusev vowed to defeat Randy Orton at Hell in a Cell and said that would be another happy Rusev Day. Randy Orton then interrupted and stormed down to the ring. Randy Orton had a singles match with Aiden English.
Rusev hopped up on the ring apron right before the bell rang. Orton became distracted and English attacked him from behind. Orton went for an RKO early but English blocked it and connected with a kick to Randy’s head. Orton planted English shortly after with an RKO for the victory. Rusev tried to come into the ring to attack Orton but Randy was ready. Rusev retreated as Orton posed on the turnbuckle. There is hardly any buzz for this match at all and hopefully Sunday is the last match of this feud.
