History was made at TNA Slammiversary this past weekend when the reigning WWE Intercontinental champion appeared on a rival promotion’s pay-per-view.
Christian’s appearance was indeed part of an agreement made months ago, when TNA allowed Ric Flair to appear at WWE’s Hall of Fame Ceremony.
As you can imagine, WWE was very specific about what Christian was (and was not) allowed to say/do at the pay-per-view.
According to TNA sources, Christian got along great with everybody and was telling people it was a “surreal” experience. That said – Christian was strongly against appearing at a TNA event, but he really did not have much of a choice.
TNA was permitted to hype Christian’s appearance on last week’s Impact, but Dixie Carter made the call to announce the news on Twitter and the TNA website as a way of generating Internet buzz as to what Christian would do at the show.
