According to sources, WWE approached Rob Van Dam approximately three weeks ago about making a return to the company.
RVD had agreed to work 2-3 independent pro wrestling dates but after making his agreement with WWE, went back and told the indy promoters that he could only work one date.
As previously noted, Van Dam will be working a part time schedule and will not be going on the road full-time. His new short-term contract with WWE has him working TV shows, pay-per-views and a few select live events.
According to reports, WWE already has a storyline and a feud in place for him, which should begin at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view in July.
