Bayley and Banks won the titles to become the inaugural champions back at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event last month. This is where they outlasted teams such as Sarah Logan & Ruby Riott, Sonya Deville & Mandy Rose, Billie Kay & Peyton Royce, and Carmella & Naomi.
The company has already made it known that they’re going with the idea of one set of champions defending the gold on both brands – Monday Night RAW and SmackDown Live.
It will be interesting to see who will be next in line for the titles. There was some talk a few months ago that WWE Hall of Famers Trish Stratus and Lita could potentially be coming back as a tag team for WrestleMania.
There’s always a chance that WWE could bring Nikki and Brie Bella back to television for more exposure in hopes of increasing viewership of Total Bellas and Total Divas.
What are your thoughts on Sasha Banks and Bayley retaining the titles? Was this the right call by WWE officials? Sound off in the comment section.
