Becky Lynch has had a tremendous year which includes main eventing WrestleMania, winning both the WWE’s Women’s Titles at the same time and just recently becoming the first WWE Superstar to be featured on ESPN Magazine’s cover.
With all these accolades, a lot of people wonder where she could be headed next and some recent comments from MMA coach John Kavanagh have opened a very interesting possibility for The Man.
Kavanagh had recently said that if he is given one year with Becky then he can turn the current Raw Women’s Champion into an MMA fighter.
During a recent catchup with ESPN, Lynch was asked about these comments from the MMA veteran and a possible MMA transition and replying to it, Becky said that she will do it if somebody tells her that she can’t:
“If its one thing that I learned fighting with Ronda Rousey is that I can take quite a beating but I always get back up. Somebody tell me I can’t do it, I’ll do it. I will be in there next week.”
Over the last few years, we have seen a number of wrestling stars transitioning from wrestling to MMA and the list includes the likes of Bobby Lashley and Jack Swagger.
While Lynch leaving WWE at the height of her tenure to pursue an MMA career seems very unlikely, it’s still an interesting debate on whether or not the Women’s Champion will be able to make it in the world of MMA.
Do you think Becky Lynch can make a successful transition from wrestling to MMA if she tries? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.
