A big title change happened when WWE held a TV taping for NXT on Thursday night in Winter Park, FL at Full Sail University.
In the main event of the tapings, The Undisputed Era (Kyle O’Reilly and Bobby Fish) defeated The Street Profits (Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins) to win the NXT Tag Team Titles.
This match is likely to air on the September 11th episode of NXT on WWE’s streaming service, WWE Network.
As a result of The Street Profits dropping the titles, it appears that their time in WWE’s developmental system is over as they head to the main roster full-time.
These two teams faced off at the WWE NXT TakeOver: Toronto II event in Toronto, Ontario at the Scotiabank Arena over the weekend. Many fans had thought the title change would’ve happened earlier.
There was speculation that The Street Profits would drop the straps at this show due to them being called up to the main roster on RAW. That wasn’t the case as The Street Profits retained their titles only to lose them a few days later.
The Street Profits became champions when they beat The Forgotten Sons, Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch, and O’Reilly & Fish to win the titles in a Fatal 4-Way Ladder Match at the WWE NXT TakeOver: XXV event.
