Braun Strowman is set to undergo a minor procedure on his elbow which will keep him out of action for four to eight weeks. The news was first reported by Pro Wrestling Sheet.
Storyline plans for Extreme Rules and Great Balls of Fire will probably have to be changed due to the “undisclosed injury/surgery.” Strowman has been slated to challenge Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Great Balls of Fire.
On the RAW following WWE Payback, RAW GM Kurt Angle stated that Braun Strowman suffered a torn rotator cuff in his match against Roman Reigns. During Monday’s RAW tapings, Strowman wrestled Kalisto with his arm in a sling. Roman Reigns interfered in the match and attacked Strowman’s arm with a steel chair on the steps. Strowman will now be off television until he has recovered from the procedure.
It’s unknown when the injury took place, since Strowman has been working live events. Many of his live event appearances have ended with Strowman going through a table, so it’s possible he took a bad landing at some point.
