Brock Lesnar Has Informed UFC That He’s Retiring From MMA

The speculation about when and where Brock Lesnar’s next MMA fight will take place has been put to an end. The former UFC Heavyweight Champion has apparently retired from MMA competition, according to UFC President Dana White.

White told ESPN’s Brett Okamoto on Tuesday night that Lesnar is retiring from competition and won’t attempt a comeback. Ariel Helwani noted that chances of Lesnar returning to UFC aren’t likely anymore.

The UFC has been trying to make a fight between Lesnar and current UFC Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormier inside of the Octagon since last July when Cormier was able to score a KO win over Stipe Miocic to win the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 226.

The promotion was hoping to book this fight in August. However, the fight continued to get pushed back. Now, the UFC is trying to get a rematch booked with Cormier and Miocic.

Lesnar was last seen on WWE programming when he lost the Universal Title to Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 35. He’s been rumored to work the upcoming Saudi Arabi show in June but other than that date, there’s been no word yet on his future.

Now that Lesnar is done with UFC, it appears that his future in WWE has become more clear. Time will tell whether reports surface of him signing a new deal soon.
