WWE Hall Of Famer Bruno Sammartino underwent back surgery this past week in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
The legendary pro wrestler spent the better part of a month in a hospital until finally undergoing the surgery performed by dr. Joseph Maroon of Pittsburgh, who in addition to being the head of WWE medical, is also the personal physician of Sammartino for several years.
In fact, Maroon was actually the physician that worked on Sammartino’s previous back surgery several years ago, an operation that was chronicled in a few documentaries on “The Living Legend.”
Currently, Sammartino is out of the hospital and is said to be in great spirits.
