It looks like John Cena might miss this year’s Royal Rumble pay-per-view (PPV). The 16-time World Champion has been keeping busy outside of the WWE ring as of late. He was recently living in China for several months to work on his “Project X” film alongside Jackie Chan. Now, Cena is making the media rounds to promote his new “Bumblebee” film.
According to a report from Cageside Seats’ “Rumor Roundup,” it’s being rumored that “The Leader Of The Cenation” could miss this year’s Royal Rumble PPV due to his busy film schedule. The 2019 Royal Rumble goes down from Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27, 2019.
Cena has won the Royal Rumble match twice before, first in 2008 and later in 2013, which also took place in Phoenix.
Earlier this week, WWE announced that Cena would be appearing on SmackDown Live’s New Years Day edition of the program next week. It will be interesting to see what WWE has in store for him when he returns to the ring for WWE’s annual Holiday live events tour.
