Big Match Set For WWE SmackDown Live

Smackdown Live!

WWE invades Memphis, TN at the FedExForum for tonight’s episode of SmackDown Live that was reportedly re-written by WWE Chairman and CEO Vince McMahon this afternoon.

WWE continues to announce things for this show and did so on Tuesday afternoon by revealing a new match. In just a span of a few hours, WWE has changed plans yet again with AJ Styles vs. Kofi Kingston now taking place.

This is a change from the previously announced match of newly crowned RAW Tag Team Champions Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows teaming up with United States Champion AJ Styles to take on The New Day (WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, SmackDown Tag Team Champions Big E & Xavier Woods) in a six-man tag team match. The match was being hyped as champions vs. champions.

This is actually a change from what WWE originally advertised. Big E & Xavier Woods were supposed to wrestle Drew McIntyre and Elias in a tag team match.

WWE is advertising the following items for tonight’s broadcast:

  • “The King’s Court” returns as Jerry “The King” Lawler welcomes special guest Trish Stratus
  • Finn Balor is out to teach Dolph Ziggler some respect
  • Randy Orton to deliver a message to Kofi Kingston
  • Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows & AJ Styles vs. The New Day

WWE will also be creating new programs and building on the hype for existing feuds that will culminate at SummerSlam next month in Toronto.
