Cody Rhodes made sure that a fan who won a WWE contest got prizes from the company, ten years after the promotion didn’t deliver the goods.
Last month, a Twitter user by the name of Danny marked a whole decade since winning a Tribute to the Troops Holiday giveaway in January 2014. Danny was supposed to receive an event-themed T-shirt and a dog tag set, but never received either of these prizes.
Just realized this week marks 10 full years since I won @WWE’s Tribute to the Troops Holiday Giveaway.
They still haven’t sent me my Tribute to the Troops dog tag set.
They think I’ve forgotten. They think the issue has just gone away. They’re wrong. I will not stay silent. pic.twitter.com/WuiDgPUJE4

Danny’s story caught the attention of Cody Rhodes, who told the fan to check his DMs. This week, Danny gave a positive update on his situation, revealing that Rhodes had sent him a T-Shirt, cap, and ‘American Nightmare’ belt. Danny was thrilled to receive the prizes and finish the story and now hopes to see Rhodes finish his at WrestleMania 40.
How funny it all arrived today…
Apparently the Tribute to the Troops dog tags aren’t a thing anymore (SAD!), but Cody still came through.
I finished my story, now go finish yours. https://t.co/aOlPCPWMJT pic.twitter.com/YZrE3FQzjn

Cody Rhodes & The Fans
Danny’s situation is hardly the first time Rhodes has gone the extra mile for a wrestling fan. Last week, Rhodes got up close and personal with a visually impaired fan at a WWE event who held a sign saying they were trying to see him. This heartwarming interaction came about mere weeks after Rhodes agreed to be the Best Man at a fan’s wedding.
At WWE live events, Cody has been competing in Extreme Rules matches and has been gifting pieces of a broken table to those in the crowd. After the final live Raw of 2023, Rhodes went even further and gifted a Christmas Tree to a fan. Speaking of the Holidays, Rhodes made one young fan’s season extra special by sending a signed Cody Rhodes authentic weight belt.
