Date For CM Punk’s Second UFC Fight Officially Announced

CM Punk

It was rumored for months that the former WWE Champion CM Punk will be having his second fight at UFC 225 in Chicago and now it has officially been confirmed.

UFC made the following tweet from their official account, confirming that the Straight Edge Star will be going head to head against Mike Jackson on June 9:

This is not a big surprise as President Dana White had previously confirmed the reports of Punk facing Jackson in his return bout and Chicago has always been the rumored place for this fight.

The longest reigning WWE Champion of the Morden Era, Punk, walked away from the company back in 2014 due to being unhappy with his bookings and several health issues.

His WWE contract was officially terminated in June 2014 and in December it was revealed that the former Champion has signed a multi-fight contract with UFC.

CM Punk made his debut for the MMA League against Mickey Gall in September 2016 at UFC 203 and lost the bout via a rear naked choke at 2:14 of the first round.

In the following few months of his dominating loss, it looked like Punk’s career at Ultimate Fighting Championship was over but in the last few months a second fight started looking more likely and now it has officially been announced.
