WWE Intercontinental champion Dean Ambrose was injured on RAW during his steel cage main event match against Sheamus. Ambrose emerged victorious, but did not walk away unscathed. He suffered a laceration on the back of his head that required six staples to close.
There’s no rest for the weary (or stapled), because Dean Ambrose will be competing on tonight’s special live edition of WWE SmackDown. He’ll defend the IC title against Dolph Ziggler and the man he captured the gold from earlier this month, Kevin Owens.
Tonight’s live Tuesday edition of SmackDown is part of WWE Week on the USA Network, which continues Wednesday night with the annual Tribute to the Troops show.
