Enzo Amore is one of the key figures in the story of Neville’s WWE departure and many believe that it was his feud with the Realest Guy In The Room that led to the former Cruiserweight Champion quitting the company.
However during his recent appearance on Talk Is Jericho, Amore talked about Neville’s departure from the promotion, He said that backstage, he was best friends with the former NXT Champion and indicated that their feud wasn’t the reason why he left.
Enzo explained that the star now known as Pac was burnt out and he didn’t want to be moved to the main roster. He then went on to claim that he actually talked to Neville, the day he walked out of the company:
“That day Neville didn’t show up to work, so he called me. When he wasn’t going to the main roster, he just didn’t show up to RAW. And I was the only one talking to him that day, so I knew he wasn’t there and I get the script handed to me. Enzo and Neville in the main event of Monday Night RAW. Neville’s not even there.”
Neville dropped the Cruiserweight title to Enzo Amore in September 2017 and he walked out of WWE before the October 9th episode of Raw a few days later. The company froze his contract afterward and he was finally released in August the next year.
It was said that the former Champion had been unhappy with his position in the promotion for some time. He walked out of Raw after learning that he was scheduled to lose to Enzo Amore once again in a singles match during the show.
