WWE’s Statement On Finn Balor
Balor’s replacement to face Nakamura wasn’t announced. WWE issued the following statement on their Twitter account:
“During the week, @FinnBalor suffered an undisclosed injury. @WWE Medical has unfortunately not cleared him for competition tonight at #SMACKVILLE. It is unknown who or if @ShinsukeN defends his title tonight. Stay tuned as we learn more.”
His status at the SummerSlam pay-per-view event is up in the air as he’s slated to take on Bray Wyatt in a singles match next month.
It’s been reported that Balor is slated to take time off from WWE starting after SummerSlam for two months to recharge his batteries. His last match came back on July 15th where he worked a match against Samoa Joe on RAW.
