Finn Balor is back on top as the secondary title holder on the WWE Monday Night RAW brand.
He regained the WWE Intercontinental Championship once he beat Bobby Lashley at Sunday’s (April 7, 2019) WWE WrestleMania 35 pay-per-view event in East Rutherford, NJ at MetLife Stadium on the WWE Network.
Lashley only held the title for a few weeks heading into this show. The amateur wrestler turned pro beat Balor to win it back on the March 11th episode of RAW after Lio Rush caused a distraction by ringing the ring bell several times that allowed Lashley to connect with a devastating spear on Balor to pick up the win and capture the title.
This feud had been going back and for over the last few weeks. Balor won the prestigious secondary title on the red brand when he beat Lashley back at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event in Houston, Texas in February.
Lashley first reign happened when captured the gold when he beat Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose in a Triple Threat Match back on the January 14th episode of RAW, which he added to his collection of titles he’s earned under the WWE banner that includes the ECW and United States Titles.
