Opening last night’s episode of Monday Night RAW – the first day of the Superstar Shake-Up – the United States Title was introduced to the red brand when Jinder Mahal made his way out to the ring.
Jeff Hardy would then challenge The Modern Day Maharaja for the strap, and won it after hitting a Swanton Bomb. It was announced shortly after Hardy’s win that the victory made him a Grand Slam Champion under the new format (he is also a Grand Slam Champion under the old one as well).
It turns out that’s not the only bit of history Hardy made with his win over Mahal. WWE Stats & Info’s Twitter reports he is now the first and only person in WWE history to have held the following titles in their career:
- WWE Championship
- World Heavyweight Championship
- Intercontinental Championship
- United States Championship
- World Tag Team Championship
- RAW Tag Team Championship
- European Championship
- Hardcore Championship
- Light Heavyweight Championship
#RAW's @JEFFHARDYBRAND is now the first (and only) Superstar in history to hold the #WWE, World Heavyweight, Intercontinental, United States, World Tag Team, RAW Tag Team, European, Hardcore and Light Heavyweight championships in his @WWE career. #GrandSlam #SuperstarShakeUp
