Video: Hulk Hogan Asks For Forgiveness On Good Morning America

Hulk Hogan appeared on ABC’s Good Morning America on Monday morning to address his racism controversy and ask the public for forgiveness.

Hogan spoke with Amy Robach and pleaded, “Oh my gosh. Please forgive me. Please forgive me … I think if you look at the whole picture of who Hulk Hogan is, you can see over all the years that there’s not a racist bone in my body.”

WWE fired Hogan last month after it was revealed that the wrestling legend made racist statements on multiple occasions, including on his leaked sex tape Heather Clem and during a jailhouse conversation with his son Nick, who was incarcerated at the time.

Hogan once again stated that he was at a very low point in his life when he used the racial slurs and blamed his childhood environment in Tampa, Florida during the 1950’s and 60’s where use of the N word was a regular occurrence.

“I’m not a racist, but I never should have said what I said. It was wrong. I’m embarrassed by it,” Hogan said. “People need to realize that you inherit things from your environment. And where I grew up was South Tampa, Port Tampa, and it was a really rough neighborhood, very low income. And all my friends, we greeted each other saying that word.”

Hogan argued that people should not be judged by what they do at their lowest point and if everybody was defined by their darkest hour, it would be a sad world.

He concluded, “People get better every day. People get better.”
