Jim Ross On Why People Stopped Watching Wrestling After Attitude Era

Jim Ross

WWE was doing a rating in the neighborhood of 5.5 to 6 million viewers during the ending days of Attitude Era and since then the company has seen a steady decline in the rating year over year.

During his recent appearance on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s Show, the former WWE Star and Wrestling Legend Jim Ross discussed a number of things and he also revealed his theory on why people have stopped watching wrestling.

According to Ross, people lost interest because nothing changed. There was nothing new or nothing fresh and he implied that this is the reason why people stopped watching wrestling.

Continuing on the topic, the former WWE Star said that he is not knocking Monday Night Raw but they are always going to get the first knock because they are the biggest dog in the yard.

Later he also discussed the perception of AEW being competition for WWE and Ross said that he gets a kick out of the armchair analysts’ claims that AEW is going to be competition.

He explained his comments by saying that WWE has a global footprint and they are a publicly traded company. Ross claimed that nobody is going to catch WWE and it shouldn’t be anybody’s goal.

Apart from this, Jim Ross also discussed his trip to Saudi Arabia for WWE Shows, The Young Bucks reminding him of Steve Austin in terms of ambition and more.
