John Cena has commented on his status for the premiere of WWE Friday Night SmackDown.
It’s looking like the former WWE Champion won’t be making an appearance on the show.
With hours until bell time, you can’t rule out him making a surprise appearance as he could be trying to swerve fans from thinking he won’t be making an appearance.
Cena, who was featured in some of the promotional material for the show, wrote the following on his official Twitter account:
“Good luck to my @WWE family for the 1st episode of #SmackDown on @FOXTV. I’ve learned a lot about family here at #Fast9 and while I’ll be enjoying from afar, I’m glad #FastAndFurious family icon @TheRock gets to FINALLY return home to electrify!”

Cena was last seen on WWE television when he opened the RAW Reunion special with a promo in the ring about how he couldn’t miss the show and WWE is his home. He’s not advertised for any upcoming WWE shows.
Cena has landed one of the biggest movie roles thus far in his acting career. The former WWE Champion joined the cast of “Fast & Furious 9.”
The film, which will be the ninth installment in The Fast and the Furious franchise, is scheduled to be released on May 22, 2020, by Universal Pictures.
