John Cena has accomplished many things in pro wrestling and will go down as one of the biggest stars that WWE ever had. It turns out that he couldn’t have done it without a certain superstition that he has.
The former WWE Champion was recently a guest on The Kelly Clarkson Show where he spoke on a wide variety of topics.
The topic about his pre-match superstition was brought up when Clarkson joked about how having a bad smell could have a negative impact on his opponent. It turns out that Cena has good breath during his matches.
The reason for that is due to him having a thing for tic tacs. It has become a ritual for him before wrestling to help out with his nerves. It’s gotten to the point where he admits that he’s had to ween himself off of them.
Here is what Cena said:
“My thing was always Tic Tacs. It’s a nervous superstition that I always have before we go on a broadcast. And I’ve had to ween myself off of them because I got up to three boxes a day. And that’s, like, right in the 20 minutes before broadcast. It’s pretty much 10,000 calories of straight sugar.”
