UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones has been making headlines in the pro wrestling world since calling out Brock Lesnar after defeating Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 back on July 29th.
Jones vs. Lesnar inside the UFC octagon probably won’t be happening until next year, since Lesnar still has several months remaining on his USADA suspension going back to his failed drug tests stemming from his most recent MMA fight at UFC 200 last July. That said, it’s rumored that Lesnar has taken steps to re-enter the USADA drug testing program, which would pave the way for him being eligible to fight for UFC again. Wrestling and MMA insiders are convinced there’s a good chance this big money fight will take place at some point.
After Jon Jones’ challenge to Lesnar, WWE.com acknowledged the situation and teased that we might even see “Bones” in a WWE ring at some point:
“With Lesnar focused on his upcoming Universal Championship defense against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe in a Fatal 4-Way Match at SummerSlam, does he have the time to seriously ponder a showdown with Jones? And, if so, could we perhaps see “Bones” enter a WWE ring to make this dream match a reality?”
Jones has been asked about a UFC fight against Brock Lesnar in recent media interviews, fueling interest in what’s likely the biggest marquee match UFC could present at this point.
When asked by Twitter user @evo_08 if he’d consider attending SummerSlam and sitting ringside for Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship defense against Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman and Samoa Joe, Jon Jones teased that he’s thought about the possibility.

Interestingly, Jon Jones is not the only UFC fighter that could be at SummerSlam. UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Cris Cyborg and SmackDown Live Superstar Becky Lynch have been talking trash on Twitter, with Cyborg repeatedly using the hashtag #SummerSlam in her messages to Lynch.
Hmmmmm #summerslam @TripleH you can't hide @BeckyLynchWWE forever https://t.co/UzMimKqc6e

Brazilians aren't known to be quiet just because they are asked. I have a country that wants their rematch with Ireland at #summerslam https://t.co/tggWUbqBCi
