Josh Mathews Says Vince McMahon “Doesn’t Get It Anymore”

Former WWE announcer Josh Mathews recently appeared as a guest on the Sam Roberts Wrestling podcast, where he discussed his problems with WWE and breaking old habits now that he’s working in TNA. Mathews noted that he specifically has a hard time saying the words “belt” and “wrestling,” because they weren’t allowed to be used in WWE.

When asked about Vince McMahon claiming the profession is “Sports Entertainment” during his appearance on the Steve Austin podcast on the WWE Network, Mathews said, “I just look at it as someone who doesn’t get it anymore, and who has lost so much touch with what his product is.”

Mathews continued, “[He] didn’t like anything else that was going on so he literally created his own universe. I mean, that’s what they called it the ‘Universe,’ because he created it and he lives in that bubble.”
