Latest On The Future Of 205 Live

More on what WWE could be planning for 205 Live

While talents from 205 Live are expected to be incorporated into NXT more moving forward, it appears that the show will not be canceled completely and it might change nights to fit the new WWE schedule.

The latest edition of Wrestling Observer Newsletter provides some updates on the status of the Cruiserweight Exclusive brand and it says that there are many different options being considered for the show.

One of the ideas for the brand which is being thrown around is to move the show to Wednesday nights and tape it before or after the broadcast of NXT.

Regarding SmackDown Live, it’s said that the Officials plan to continue taping a third hour aside from the two-hour broadcast, which could be utilized for some network exclusive content or their weekly show on F1S.

Triple H On The Future Of 205 Live

Triple H had recently talked about the future of 205 Live in an interview with Newsweek and said that the show will move more towards the NXT banner with cruiserweight talents being able to compete with other stars:

“You’ll begin to see it move more towards the NXT banner and the talent there. We have a lot of talent. For them to begin to compete either open against anyone or in the cruiserweight division”

H had then explained that both NXT UK and 205 Live will sit under the NXT banner but he mentioned that there will still be three distinct brands for talents to compete in.

Based on Triple H’s comments, it would make sense for 205 Live to move to Wednesday Nights and probably be taped in the same arena as NXT.

This would allow the Cruiserweight Exclusive brand to continue being an independent show on the Network while also allowing the stars to be available for NXT.

Though what really happens will be revealed in the future and we will have to wait for an official update to actually know what is in the future of 205 Live.
