Marty Jannetty and Shawn Michaels made their debut around the same time and went on to find good success as the Rockers; however, their path differed after the two broke up.
After their famous Barbershop break up segment, Shawn Michaels went on to become a megastar for WWE while Marty’s wrestling career winded down as he struggled to stay clean.
During a recent interview with WrestlingInc, Jannetty discussed some health problems he is dealing with and revealed that is he in a poor financial condition.
The former WWE Star first revealed that he has problems in his ankle. While he can get it fixed, he has been avoiding the operation because the lack of health insurance will leave him broke:
“Mine’s only a gimp, I can get it fixed. I don’t have health insurance so it’s gonna cost me a little bit. I could do it now, but then I’ll be broke. If I don’t make money after that, then where am I gonna eat?”
Though continuing on the topic, he revealed that Chris Jericho and Joey Janela had tried to set up a GoFundMe page for his operation.
However, he saw comments from fans saying ‘Oh, all these drughead partiers blew their money and now they want us to pay’ and so he decided to take the page down.
Later in the interview, Marty Jannetty said that people paid him when they showed up in the arena to watch him wrestling and so asking for money again is hard for him. You can check out his full interview at this link.
