On Monday night’s RAW, Zack Ryder’s lifelong WrestleMania dream became a living nightmare, as The Miz pulled a fast one with an assist from his “better half.”
Zack Ryder, who shockingly won the WWE Intercontinental Championship in the ladder match at WrestleMania 32 on Sunday night, thanked his father on RAW, who was shown sitting in the front row, and it was his father’s presence that would end up spelling Ryder’s demise.
The Miz would come out and challenge Ryder to an impromptu Intercontinental Title match, which Ryder accepted. The finish of the match saw Ryder’s father push The Miz, leading to The Miz’s wife, former WWE Diva Maryse, returning to slap Ryder’s father. Ryder, distracted by the interaction between Maryse and his father, turned around into a Skull Crushing Finale from The Miz.
Three slaps of the referee’s hand on the mat later and Ryder’s run as I-C champion came to a sudden end, while The Miz’s fourth reign as I-C champ began.
