NXT announcer Mauro Ranllo will be returning to commentary for tonight’s NXT broadcast on the USA Network. SEScoops has learned that Ranallo is currently in Orlando, FL and will be calling the show in his normal role as the lead announcer alongside Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuinness.
The issues that Ranallo had to deal with started over a series of tweets made by SmackDown color commentator Corey Graves.
This is where Graves criticized the NXT lead announcer because he felt that Ranallo didn’t allow fellow commentators Beth Phoenix or Nigel McGuinness to talk enough during the TakeOver: WarGames III broadcast.
Graves also noted that Ranallo made “Far, far too many” Chicago rap references. Ranallo was supposed to call Survivor Series but didn’t do so and Michael Cole stated on commentary that he reason Ranallo wasn’t calling the show was due to him blowing his voice out the night before.
Ranallo also missed last week’s episode of NXT. Graves has since apologized for his comments towards Ranallo through the latest episode of After The Bell.
